Summary: I loved this epic romance!
Review: Absolutely one of my favorites by Danielle Steel! The main character is wonderfully portrayed as an intelligent, loving and faithful woman, even during the worst of times. This book reminds us how important family really is -- in the good times and the bad

Summary: The reality of the rich or upperclass.
Review: Daneille Steel's book, Jewels, is a very romantic book. I like how she turned a character from depressed to a person that she never thought that she would turn out to be. I also like how she protrayed the life style of a rich family and their morals. I think the characters were accurate in that of real life.

Summary: Could this book bit any more? I doubt it.
Review: Danielle Steel has done it again. Written another simpering, poorly developed boring book-for-tv type novel. Sarah is a twit, unlikeable, not strong, and too easily lead. Freddie is worthless, an underdeveloped, "why is he here" type character with a contrived end. Although Steel emphasizes Sarah's parents heavily in the first few chapters, when they die "in a tragic yachting accident" (can you hear me howling with laughter?) it's glossed over like they were little more than school chums.

All in all, a boring outing by the queen of boring outings.

Summary: She cannot write
Review: Danielle Steel is one of the few authors whose TV miniseries versions are better than the books themselves. Her characters are all rich, beautiful, smart, and somehow it's very difficult to care about these people's fates. Jewels proves to be no exception. Her characters seem cut out of cardboard boxes. The villains and villainesses are comic book caricatures, and the heroes and heroines are all beautiful, noble, intelligent, and selfless. In other words, quite unrealistic. I decided to read the book after watching the miniseries, but what a mistake that was.

Summary: JEWELS, JEWELS, JEWELS
Review: Danielle Steel is so good at what she does and this book is no exception. She writes about a very passionate married couple who goes through many trials and tribulations only to be faced with shortcomings of one of their childern. That said, this book tells about how the wife literally wills her near death war inflicked husband back to life. She also, after his revival, births three more children to add to the first child (son) they had together and moves on to developing a career for herself and the family. Ergo, the title, Jewels, is about how she created an empire of jewelry that brought her fame and fortune. After a successful store of Jewelry in Paris, she moves on to open a store in New York and a couple other places. Before turning her business over to the grown children, she loses her husband (a veteran) to the military contracted illness. Nevertheless, this heroine pulls off a successful life for herself even after his death. If you love a love story, you absolutely must read this book.

Summary: BORING! YAWN YAWN
Review: Geez, even the movie was boring (not to mention the characters were ugly). Yawn..she has too many children and I couldn't keep up with them all! They're spoiled nasty and the ending does not make sense! The book is to long and the movie is just a waste of time! This book really stinks and I don't know why everyone liked it!
