Summary: This is a good career move reference
Review: I used this book to help a friend get back into the job market. We updated her resume and cover letter over a holiday weekend and she got the job in TWO weeks. Richardson knows how to summarize details and specifics for those of us who want to read the book and go on with our real lives.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: THE Handbook for Your First Job!!!
Review: I've read a ton of career books by burned out boomers or professors, but this is the first book that told me EXACTLY what I need to do to get and KEEP the job I want. Richardson covers things that nobody talks about in your company training or that older employees take for granted. A HUGE HELP. The guy is funny and has great info.

Summary: Poorly written, little value, save your money.
Review: If I could give this book zero stars, I would (but the Amazon system goes from 1-5 stars). The book is written with a smug "I-know-it-all" attitude that doesn't convey anything to the reader other than that the author thinks very highly of himself. There is little if anything in the way of practical information I was able to use. Most of it consisted of "this-is-how-I-got-a-job-and-you-can-too!" Very petty and poor writing style. I bought the book and wished I handn't--I won't even waste space on my bookshelf for this one, lest I later forget the awful content and waste any more time reading it. Save your money.

Summary: Very poor effort, very little value, cocky writing style...
Review: Sorry, but this one is really not worth the money. I bought it, read it, and wished I would have saved both the money and the time. The author acts like he knows everything there is to know about hiring and being hired, but as far as I can tell, he's never hired anyone himself and currently doesn't have a job--not exactly the kind of role model I need in my job search. And precious little of value. Really not worth the effort.

Summary: One of the worst books ever written on job search
Review: The author acts like a know-it-all, but the information is basic, elementary, and in many cases just plain wrong. Brad Richardson tries to act hip to attract his audience, but in between the glib lines it's really a very poorly written book. There really is no new information in this book that hasn't been said before (and better) by others. I've read other books on this subject, all of which are better than this book.

Summary: Terrific book for young career minded people
Review: This book has helped me quite a bit. It reinforced conventional career wisdom like "treat everyone well" and "accept any position to get in the door." The book also gave me new ideas. I began reading more than the local newspaper because of Bradley and this has made me a much more educated worker. He recommends reading the Wall Street Journal and USA Today everyday. He also gives lots of credit to those who came before him and I really like his reading list at the back of the book. I read many of those books which also turned out to be terrific for me and my career. Scratch that - it has been terrific for my entire life! Get this book now. It is well worth the price.

Summary: Very poor book with little to offer
Review: This book offers very little to the twentysomethings that it purports to be catering to. The author has little first hand knowledge of job search, but he draws out to great length what little he knows (which is nothing more than any other twentysomething already knows). Follows the "I did it, you can do it too" approach. If I was looking for a story about an egotistical marketeer finding a job, I would read the business section. Don't waste your time or money on this book.

Summary: Informative,Helpful Tips,Provides an Edge in Job Searching!
Review: THIS BOOK WILL PUT YOU AHEAD OF OTHERS IN THE JOB SEARCH! This was a very informative book! It is written in easy to understand language. Many examples of others and their successful job searching techinques and valuable tips are given. The section on Networking and Interviewing is excellently written and important for job seekers. I used many tips from the book and as a junior in college I landed myself an internship in a Fortune 500 company! It can help you too!
