Rating: Summary: An Easy Read Review: This book is easy to read - I read it in a day - but the messages are loud and clear. It is along the lines of "Way of the Peaceful Warrior," however, gets the same point across much more quickly. The unique thing about this book is the passages in italics from the character's Messiah's Handbook - Reminders for the Advanced Soul. If you just open the book up at random, the right passage will jump out at you. This book also emphasizes the importance of discovering/beginning a spiritual journey for YOURSELF, not for anyone else. A quote from the book (one of many, many) will forever stay with me, "...depending on people to care about what I say is depending on somebody else for my happiness." The price is a small amount to pay for such a tiny book with big messages.
Rating: Summary: Argue for your limitations and you get to keep them Review: I pick up this book 15 years ago, thinking that it was a novel but did not go past the first 40 pages. I just could not figure out what Mr. Bach was talking about. Now out of "coincidence" I decided to give it a second chance. What a pleasure to read. It is not one of those pompous new era books that will tell how to find yourself or to live happily ever after. On the contrary it just kindly suggest you to "think different".It is a fact that the moment that you lived 5 seconds ago is gone, no way to change it or take it back and the next 5 seconds are not here yet and you can not make them hurry, so in what kind of reality we really live? Where is the now? From where is it coming and where does it go? Science can only offer us theories but not certainty. The author simply suggests to give yourself the chance to think that everything is an illusion. Maybe your life will be more fun. Maybe.
Rating: Summary: A Journey Review: This book was excellent. It really leadsyou on a journey. It was recommended by a teacher and I would recommend it to everybody.
Rating: Summary: Use Illusions Review: When I picked up Illusions, I was not immediately impressed. Even in the first two chapters I got the feeling that Richard Bach was not taking himself seriously. I was wrong. This piece of work was masterfully done. Its simplistic style explains the impossible so that it seems straightforward. The book was written as much for the troubled soul of Bach as it was written for the rest of the world. It is that personalized quality that makes the book even greater. Many of the ideas seem hugely unbelievable. If read too aggressively or with too much detachment, it is easy for the lessons within to slip by without impacting the reader. Fortunately, Bach makes that very much impossible because of his clear-cut and interesting style. The wisdom therein is made all the more viable because it is not preached with the fanatic zeal of a religious manuscript. Instead, it comes in a story format where ideas and opinions are presented in a light-hearted and inconsequential manner. Richard Bach seeks to impart upon his audience whatever they wish to take from his writing. He says what he wants to say and still encourages the reader to think what they want to think. Read the book, take what you want from it, and use it. Bach does not do all the thinking for you. The reader must analyze things for himself and apply them to everyday life in order to get the full benefit of what Illusions has to offer. It can change your life.
Rating: Summary: Ilusions Review: I think that this book is really great. The idea of the Reminder of the Advance Soul is really good. There is good quote that had helped me to find the direction to my problem. This book had given me another way of looking at life and challenge my old view. I am sure that if this book hasn't help anyone with problem, then they must have enjoy it like I did.
Rating: Summary: Illusions Review: Wow. Illusions is probably one of the best books i've ever read. It actually made me think about how I live my life. This story also makes you really attached to the characters Its about a man who meets a messiah who has quit. I wanted to beleive that this story is really true and that people really could preform miracales. I think think everyone should read this book, because it really makes you think about what your life is about, and that people who know what this book displays are often looked down upon. I also think that parts of the book are symbolic of how some people beleive that if you you are not living in misery than you are not living the way you should.
Rating: Summary: Illusions Review: I think this book is great, because the first time I read it was a time of inner turmoil for me. I was having a hard time dealing with my teachers, and this book gave me some hints on how to settle my peace of mind. The funny thing was was that it was a gift from the teacher that I disliked the most. I was close to my breaking point because of this teacher, but after I read Illusions, it reminded me that we created this whole dream world we live in, so we can choose to participate or not. Unfortunately, the dream world has progressed to the point where it is almost impossible to not participate without giving up everything. The story in this book is simple but in between are hints that helped me and could be helpful to you, so please for your own sake, read this book.

Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: I am 17 year old senior in high school, who lives in North Carolina. I was asked to read this book as a grade in my VHS course. I don't really believe in the whole religion thing. But, I must say, This book speaks to every religion background. I noticed some Buddhist principals among the words of wisdom, which every sentence is overflowing with. To thoroughly understand this book, one would need to go thorough and find the symbolism hidden in each sentence. I'm thankful for reading this book. It has given my lungs new air to breathe and showed me to take time out and enjoy my life for what it really is and to make the best out of it. I think people, alone with myself should stop and smell the daises, and even ask, "why do daises smell so great?"
Rating: Summary: Illusions Review: The book Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah was a great book with an incredible lesson. To be quite honest, I was not looking forward to reading the book. I am a senior and I have a lot going on with the college search, senior activities, and many of the other normal senior stresses. I felt that this book would be just a waste of my time and that there were probably some more productive things I could be getting done with my time. I couldn't have been more wrong. This book helped me to slow down and remember to take a look at the things around me. It made me relies that the college search is just one small part of a bigger plan and I shouldn't let it stress me out so much. It opened my eyes and helped me to see the world in a different way. I think this book is good for anyone hoping to expand there mind and see the world from another angle.
