Summary: Simply The Best
Review: I have read hundreds of Spiritual books and although Illusions was the first.. I can honestly say, even after all these years.. it's the best. Whether you are a Spiritual master, or a beginner.. this book is THE book on Spirit, and how simple it really all is.. Very well done..Very well indeed!

Summary: "What the caterpillar calls the end of the world...
Review: ...the master calls a butterfly."How many times have those words touched my soul? Every time I have lost my way, I have read Illusions. And it has reminded me that things happen for a reason, that I have created the mess I got myself into, and that I have the power to make things better if I truly want to. We all create situations for ourselves that keep us safe, protected, and bored. This book reminds you that you don't have to stay in that little world you've created. It is ok, and even expected that we break out of that from time to time. "In order to live free and happily, you must sacrifice boredom. It is not always an easy sacrifice." I love the parable in the beginning of this book about the creatures at the bottom of the river who cling because clinging is all they know. And the one creature who was brave enough to let go was dashed upon the rocks. But then he rose up with the current, and drifted on at a higher plane than he had been on when he clung as he was told. I spend every day reminding myself to let go.

Summary: Illusions
Review: This was definately an interesting and intriguing to read. It inspired a myriad of different thoughts ranging from bewilderment to slight anger. The book offers many insights into looking at life in a new perspective. Though many people will not agree with all of the phrases that the book tries to suggest, it definately made me question some of my previous morals and attitudes towards every day events. These feelings were heavy in the beggining of the novel, yet I got a little frustrated and tired of reading as the book continued on. I became frustrated towards the middle of the novel when Shimoda was teaching Richard how he can become a messiah. Shimoda's somewhat nonsense and contradictory phrases seemed a little corny at times and this was where I started loosing interest in the book. However, overall it is a good book, this coming from student who hates to read any book except that of Star Wars novels, and I would reccomend it to anyone who feels a little lost and is looking for a new perspective on life. -Chris Miller

Summary: Illusions, human obligations
Review: this was a very good book. i've never read a book this fast (maybe 2 hours?). i think the thing that was most appealing to me was the simple way Richard Bach wrote this book. his words are so understandable and the story is very interesting. without giving away the whole book, i feel that the discussion between the two characters were very interesting, dealing with human obligation and quality of life in general. this is a great book and i feel anyone whos positive about life should read it.

Summary: Illusions by Richard Bach
Review: I thought that this was an absolutely incredible book. I'll admit that, at first, I was far from excited about reading this book. I had it assigned to me for a class that I take and it looked as though it would be far form interesting, but it is probably one of the best novels that I have ever read. This was a story of a man and his travel was a man whom he called Shimoda. Through his travels with Shimoda, he learns many lessons. The lessons that he learns are through two things; his conversations with Shimoda and the "Savior's Manual". Through the conversations with Shimoda he learns about all the different experiences that Shimoda has experienced and all the different lessons that he has learned. There are many reasons why I liked this book but my favorite part was "The Messiah's Handbook & Reminders for an Advanced Soul". This is the "Savior's Manual" that I referred to earlier. In this "handbook" were many quotes that people can use to reflect on their lives. I think that these quotes were the most important part of the entire novel. These quotes give a good synopsis of the different experiences that Shimoda has experienced. With these quotes, the young man is able to learn some valuable lessons that he can use to reflect upon his life. I would recommend this book to people because I think that if people read this novel, most importantly the quotes, they can cahnge the way that they live their lives. I know that this book has greatly changed my life and I am very thanksful that I had the oppertunity to read it.

Summary: My Review on Illusions by Richard Bach
Review: The book Illusions by Richard Bach is one that inspires readers to understand the significance of thinking that a person is capable of accomplishing something positive and becoming successful in their lives. This book is basically about a boy who meets a "messiah" and begins learning various lessons about life. However, to spice up the story, the author cleverly portrays both of the main characters (the "messiah" and Richard) as pilots and allows them to meet each other through their careers. The two pilots give customers rides on their planes and help them get a glance at the world from a different level. The strengths of the "messiah" human were greatly exaggerated. The "messiah" person was trying to tell Richard that people shouldn't underestimate the strengths/talents given to them by God. He was explaining that one should be confident and not let little things get in the way. The "messiah's Handbook", which was given to Richard, included various quotes that I thought were essential and positive for people to be aware of. This was another way Bach interested his readers. I felt that this book was trying to teach positive and optimistic lessons to readers. I think this story can help readers learn the importance of developing their confidence and understanding that they shouldn't give up trying to reach a certain goal in life (whether it's to become a lawyer, doctor, or to make the Highest Honor Roll). I personally think that if the goal a person is trying to reach is positive and helpful, then God may help a person achieve it (if God wants).

Summary: The Book called ILLUSIONS
Review: ILLUSIONS BY RICHARD BACH I really enjoyed reading this book. When I first saw the title, I thought that this would be another book telling me how to live right and giving me a lot of life's information life. To make it more simple, I thought I wasn't going to be entertained. This book it was a boy telling about an adventure. The boy's name was Richard and he called his friend Don. I think that Richard was in his early 20's and Don was in his 40's, these are my beliefs. While I was reading the book, I didn't know that Don was a real messiah. He can heal the sick and perform miracles. Richard, in my own opinion was a very articulate boy. Don in my own words is brilliant. These two went flying around the country together visiting people and giving them rides in their airplanes for three dollars for ten minutes. Don started teaching Richard about the life of a messiah. He gave Richard a handbook full of quotes. Richard started reading and understanding theses qutoes . Don frightened Richard one day when he made a paralyzed man walke. These two became quite good friends. Don talked on a radio show one day to let people hear what he had to say, and they asked him questions. The people got mad at Don, but he just used some of his sayings to answer their questions. The next day Don was killed by a bullet wound. Several months later, richard discovered that Don was alive. Richard could not believe it! Don was actually alive! Or, thought to himself, "Is this a ghost that I'm seeing?" Personally I feel that Don was just a spirit---an illusion!

Summary: big time, I like it
Review: This book really explors everything that I really wanted to say all my life, it is a extension of myself and I think that it can be used for anyone because it stays general about your own personal peace. I also liked this book because it made me explore myself as well as others, I know have a better understanding of people and their actions and why they do things. I think that people should read this book if they are wondering about human nature and inner peace, I believe that there is no answer for peace but that it is the answer.

Summary: Bach's Reluctant Messiah
Review: The ideas in this book were fascinating and freeing. The author's powerful message was basically that we are in control of our own lives, and the power to do whatever we want and be whatever we want is in our hands. His Messiah, the pilot of a bi-place barnstorming the Midwest in the late 70's, has decided to quit. This twist of the plot itself is part of the message - that we are free to "quit" the responsibilites put on us by others in order to be true to ourselves. I didn't think the book was particularly well-written - it was sometimes choppy and unclear. But the author's point transcends, and the book is well worth the read.

Summary: Kirsten's Illusions Book Review
Review: "Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah" by Richard Bach can definitely be referred to as the cliche "a page turner." As soon as I began reading it, I could not put it down. "Illusions" is the story of a man named Richard who gives plane rides to people. He meets a man, Donald, who surprisingly does the same thing. Soon, Richard discovers that this man is a Messiah who has "quit" his job. During the time they spend giving plane rides to people together, Donald teaches Richard how to also be a Messiah. Their adventures and Donald's lessons could not be anymore interesting. I highly suggest this book to anyone who is looking for a good read or who enjoys learning about a new perspective of life.
