Review: This book is great. Vicky Iovine speaks to you in a friendly, non-threatening way. She tells you the straight dope about pregnancy - from how to approach sex with your husband to ideas for maternity wear before you are actually big enough for the official stuff. The book is NOT technical or medical at all, but it does review basic tests and what you can expect. The best part of this book is the perception that Vicky is one of your girlfriends and she is sharing her true experiences with you, friend to friend

Summary: Hilarious, but not for the "natural birther"
Review: This book will make you laugh out loud. If this is your first pregnancy, you will definitely learn things you never would have known unless you have an honest girlfriend like the ones Vicki refers to. Yes, I said 'Vicki' because you feel like she's talking directly to you. The chapters on maternity clothes and the last trimester are definitely reference material!! Now, if you are looking for a birth without the "traditional" medical interventions (epidurals, episiotomies, etc.) or if you are working with a midwife, the book is still funny but Vicki's reverence for all things drug related will probably grate on your nerves. But even with these concerns, I found this to be the most realistic, refreshing and genuinely funny pregnancy books I have read to date

Summary: The MOST accurate and honest pregnancy book I've ever read!!
Review: I've had 2 children, and am on my third, and could relate to everything the author said.. I've never read a more honest, open, and genuinely funny book than this one. I have recommended it, to people who don't even have children yet!! Whenever I feel down , or just need a good laugh, I just pick up this book, and flip to any page, and just start my reading. I LOVE this book. God Bless Vicki Iovine.

Summary: Must-read for fathers-to-be
Review: My wife and I started reading this book together one night and she started crying as soon as she read the top ten lies. I immediately turned to the insanity chapter and the father-to-be chapter to try and get a handle on what was going on. I still don't understand it, but the book prepared me for what is to come...I hope

Summary: Reality! Finally a book that rings true for pregnant women.
Review: I bought this book on a Saturday and was finished on Monday. I could not put it down. It made me laugh. It made me cry. I finally felt that I was not alone in the strange but wonderful world of being pregnant. The author has a wonderful and candid sense of humor, something that you really need to get you through pregnancy. For a woman going through her first pregnancy this book will be an honest, down to earth, always keep it with you book. For non first timers you'll read it and laugh hysterically or maybe cry with relief. Expectant dads will be able to read it and get a clear view of what his partner is going through and to know that it is "normal" and that the woman he knew before she got pregnant will return

Summary: The most informative of all Pregnancy books!!!
Review: This is my first pregnancy, so of course I have been reading
anything that I can get my hands on. From Parenting magazine to "What to Expect When You're Expecting." Girlfriends guide to Pregnancy was not only written in a very easily read format but it took alot of fear out of the
unknown. Thank you so much for writing this book. My Husband even read it. He especilly liked the jokes about
the "Titty Fairy"

Summary: Put My Mind At Ease
Review: After reading all the text books on pregnancy I was left feeling overwhelmed. Could going for fast-food more than once a month really harm my baby? What about mild "spotting"? I read the other books for facts, and I read The Girlfriends Guide for comfort and peace of mind. Vicki takes the severity of our concerns and levels them with humor based reality. Well Done

Review: This is a wonderful book on the experience of pregnancy, from the mother-to-be's viewpoint.
It bashes myths with gleeful abandon, while imparting a full body of knowledge about this glorious but confusing time of our lives.
This is one book that is genuinely fun to read. I laughed out loud throughout each delightful chapter.

Summary: just get it!
Review: this is a must for every expectant mommy. just like staydol, it takes the edge off. great laughs when you are feeling a little tense about the whole body changing event. my husband thought it was male bashing, so he wasn't laughing too much. i went al' natural with kass (not that i wanted to as soon as the "real" contractions started) and it was fine. my girlfriend had a c section and she swelled up like a balloon. major pain for her. all in all, it is a fab book. loaned it out twice and it's on it's way out again! have fun! kitt
