Rating: Summary: A Nine Year Old Thinks Review: This is round book. It starts at the begining and comes back to the begining at the end.The illustrations are bright and funny. You`ll want to put away the mousetrap and leave out a cookie,oh yeah and milk.
Rating: Summary: another wonderful book... Review: This is a wonderful book that children will love, and parents will love to read to them. Fun, playful artwork, and a very nice tale...I would recommend all of their books.
Rating: Summary: A book to give your kids the giggles Review: Reading this book to my two daughters gives them the giggles. They have memorized every phrase in the book. If you give a mouse a cookie then......he'll probably ask for a glass of milk. It's a cute and funny book for the kids. A top recommend.
Rating: Summary: Great interactive cassette! Review: The book is fun, and the tape makes it even more so. Carol Kane does a great job involving the child in the activities and songs. This cassette is not just a performance, but an interactive game for the kids. What convinces me of the success of the music, narration and games is the response of my two-and-a-half year old son. He was memorizing, noticing misplaced words, singing lyrics, etc. quickly with this tape. I'll be buying it for his cousins!
Rating: Summary: Logical? Review: So, after hearing what a great read-aloud this book is, I decided to get it for my two youngest children. They certainly enjoyed the fun little story and the sweet illustrations. But from the first reading, its conclusion bothered me. You see, the logical progression dictates that if you give the mouse milk, he's going to want... a straw! Not a cookie, folks. I thought it was just me, but on the third or fourth read-aloud, the kids began "reading" along, and when we neared the end, I read, "And chances are if he asks for a glass of milk," and they shouted in unison, "He'll probably ask you for a straw."Look, this isn't meant to sound curmudgeonly. While it's far from a classic, the book is cute. I just wish it didn't toy with budding logical intellects.
Rating: Summary: Gotta do the "Mouse Cookie" Review: If you love the book, you'll love the cassette. I have to say I've never heard a book cassette quite like it. The music and games on the flip side of the story are entertaining for both me and my children. I especially love the game where they mix up the words of the story and the child gets a chance to insert the correct word. Ingenious! Have fun with this one, you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Review: I think this book is very well written and different from the normal fairy tale type of children's books that are popular today. Though the story was short I think it is very good for a child to start off reading with. The illustrations were well drawn and adorable. I loved this book as a child and I'm sure many other children will love it also.
Rating: Summary: Praise for Carol Kane Review: This is an awesome audio book. Not enough is said about Carol Kane's reading of Mouse Cookie. Her cheerful voice is a wonderful partnering with this playful text. The flip side is every bit as good as the story side. It is filled with smart & delightful song. She introduces a word substitution game where the listener must be paying attention in order to correct her. My son and daughter also get a huge kick out of doing (dancing,} "The Mouse Cookie." This is definitely an audio pack that is a MUST OWN!
Rating: Summary: An Engaging Experience! Review: My 5 yr. old son and I have enjoyed this book over and over . . . and over! It's a great way to introduce sequencing to a kindergartner while having them take the wheel! It's a good dose of imagination and humor right before bed!
Rating: Summary: If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Review: The book is very creative, by having a simple, but silly story line that is easy for a child as young as two to listen to. The pictures are very well illustrated and the story line has a nice way of finishing off where it started! It's a great gift item, I've given it to a few of my friends!
