Rating: Summary: Fun for the whole family. Review: A friend of mine has talked me into reading to her kindergarten class later this week. this past wekend I asked my 16year old daughter to pick out a couple of titles for my gig, and the first book of the shelf (she still has 50-60 of her old favorites in her room) was If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. The story is delightful and the illustrations are wonderful. While waiting for dinner to be served Sunday night my daughter picked the book up and read it--and chuckled throughout. I guarantee you this will be one of your child's--and you own--all time favorites!
Rating: Summary: An adorable story Review: This book has been one of my favorites since I was a child. It has always put a smile on my face every time I read it. It is about this little mouse that has these big adventures. He has such a big imagination he cant figure out what he wants to do next. He is always busy and never sits down to relax. This is a great book for your children when they say I am bored, or there is nothing to do. Everytime you turn a page you will chuckle a little at the big mess the little mouse gets into. Everything he does seams to relate to somthing else. He never realy finishes what he starts. By the end of this book you see how tired out the little boy who is helping him must be. This book is very entertaining and has plenty of pictures to go along with the story. It will keep you guessing what is going to happen next.

Rating: Summary: If you read a kid a book... Review: She'll want you to read it again. If you read it again, she'll want to talk about it. After you talk about it, she'll want to know what happens if you give a mouse something else. After that, she'll use her imagination to explore cause/effect relationships. Once she understands those relationships, she'll realize that everything we do has consequences, even the good things. Then she'll probably ask you to read the book again... So much good stuff in such a small book. It should be in every parent's library.
Rating: Summary: A Classic Review: This book series will definitely become a classic in years to come, and is already a classic in my opinion. This book is beautifully illustrated and speaks of a little boy and what happens if you give a mouse a cookie. Such as he'll want a glass of milk and so on. This is an adorable book and I recommend it to all children and adults.
Rating: Summary: She wants it read again and again! Review: Simply put, this is a wonderful book. Our 19 month old daughter has enjoyed this book since she received it on her first birthday. The story is simple and easy to follow and the pictures are big and bright and wonderfully drawn. There aren't alot of words on every page so if you have a younger child that likes to turn the pages frequently, this makes it easy to keep the story going. Although the story is whimsical and involved enough for an older child to enjoy as well. We have read this book so many times that my daughter has memorized some of the words on every page and pretends to "read" it herself. Personally, I feel this is the best of the "If you give a ....." book series (we have them all). I think the only improvement this book could use is if it came in a board book version as the paper pages in our hardback version are quickly becoming worn from all the frequent reading and toting around! A true classic that I feel any parent with a young child can't go wrong with.
Rating: Summary: Great for preschoolers Review: My 3 year old LOVES LOVES LOVES this book. She can almost read it to herself now. The illustrations are great and the mouse is an endearing character that kids will love. There is minimal text on each page, so it keeps even busy spirited kids interested with so many cute pictures. Also, the mouse is a "he" in this book as well as the boy who gives him the cookie, whereas,"If you give a Pig a Pancake" is the "she" version with both female characters. They make great companion books.
Rating: Summary: If you share a book with your child........ Review: .....you will have hours of fun ahead of you. My favorite time of the day is when I take my kids to bed and read for them. We read different kinds of books, but each child always gets some special favorites. If you give a Mouse a Cookie is among 5 year old Marta's all time favorites. We can read the book over and over again, and the story is just as cute as when we first discovered it. The story starts with a little boy eating cookies outside his house, he sees a mouse and wants to share his cookies with it. The mouse eats the cookie, then asks for a glass of milk, of course the boy gives him some milk, and the story goes on and on. The little mouse asking for more and more, the boy having a wonderful time following his new companion. From a napkin, to scissors to trim his hair, a broom to sweep up, and so on. And the wonderful, funny last page when the mouse asks for a glass of milk, but of course, if you give him a glass of milk the chances are that he will want a cookie to go with it, and we are right back to the start of the book. The most perfect story for a child who always wants repetitions, over and over again. The book is beautifully written by Laure Joffe Numeroff, and the cute drawings to illustrate the story are made by Felicia Bond. Lucky parents and children with books like this to share. Rating: Summary: first in the popular series Review: As a children's librarian I often heard parents refer to this title affectionately; now, as a parent, I more fully understand the wonderful feeling of curling up with one's child and reading about this demanding little rodent, who proceeds from demand to demand until his accommodating friend is exhausted. The illustrations are packed with humorous details, and the image of the mouse splayed out drawing with crayons is a hoot. Young and old will enjoy this little classic.
Rating: Summary: Classic Kid's Story! Review: This is a classic kid's story of a mouse that seems to want to do everything! I remember hearing this when I was younger and loving it! It's so much fun to read and the illustrations are adorable. If you are considering this book, buy it for your kids! You'll be glad you did!
