Rating: Summary: KEEP 'EM COMING, BOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: The Enemy Within is Bond's 4th book, co-written as always
with Patrick Larkin, and as I have come to expect from Bond,
it was outstanding!
Unlike his previous books, this one deals primarily with international terrorism and counterterrorism operations.
But what makes this novel stand out from the rest of the genre is that is that it shows how terrorism can be linked
to conventional military operations. Its plot is as timely as any, in light of the increase of terrorist attacks on
US citizens in recent years. The action is NONSTOP!!! The characters were conveyed well,
and Bond takes into account not only the current political
situations but also the capabilities and limitations of people and technology. All in all, well done Mr. Bond and Mr.Larkin!!!! Keep 'em
coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Fast paced, well written, occasionally trite thriller. Review: The Enemy Within was my first Larry Bond experience, and it's safe to say that it will not be my last. Middle East terrorism strikes home with
ever increasing boldness and horror. Bond does a fantastic job of making each attack seem more compelling that the last. While the usual plots of inter-agency turf wars and male bravado are present, The Enemy Within tells a story that is unthinkable yet instantantly believable.
Rating: Summary: Worth Reading Review: The underlying plot is exciting and holds ones attention as to some terrible possibilities. I downgraded the book because of the disappointment in the conclusion. The author seemed to just quite the plot as if he was tired of writing so he brought it to a quick and disappointing conclusion.
Rating: Summary: Middle East nation targets USA with terrorist attacks Review: The US retaliates for a right-wing terrorist attack in San Francisco with missle strikes in Iran. This starts a campaign from Iran of diversionary terrorist-type attacks in US cities to distract from their core intent, ie: an invasion of Saudi Arabia. There's a lot of military thinking vs. what's politically viable. It's all pretty chilling given today's front page news.
Rating: Summary: Just what you'd expect Review: This book does its job adequately. The dialogue is typically awkward and many characters are wooden. The breakthrough moment for the plot is extraordinarily farfetched and the resolution seems harried. That said, the story moves along crisply and the terrorist atrocities it presents are unnerving, to say the least. And suprisingly, the romance (which is usually terribly botched in this genre) is quite endearing. Fans of the genre will be generally pleased.

Rating: Summary: Solid Work! Fast paced, page turning international thriller Review: This book is Larry Bond's best to date. It is a solid and fastpace trhiller with all the international intrique of a Tom Clancy novel. It combines real life scenarios and modern day CNN with unbelieavable and scarry ideas of what could happen. If you ever thought that terrorism could never enter the US, ever thought the military was prepared to react, ever thought that anyone knows what really goes on in the world -- this is the book for you. It is worth every penny and will beat Grisham, Reich and other thriller authors every page and every word. I recommend it highly! It gets an 8 and not a 10 for two faults: A silly ending, a twist with its hero that was unnecessary. With an 8, a well known author and a low price, this book should be considered a best buy.
Rating: Summary: His writing just keeps getting better! Review: This book kept me hook until the last page! I will have to read Combat next!
Rating: Summary: A Scary Scenario! Review: This book should make you sit up and think. Iran the capitol of terrorism sending terrorists into the United States to create havoc and confusion. The Iranian general who plays the role of villian in the book has a master plan for occupying the United States while he makes plans for invading the oil fields of Saudi Arabia. The Bosnian badguy that the Iranian general sends to America does his job well. Acts of terrorism in the United States causes panic everywhere. Colonel Thorn and Special Agent Gray finally catch up with the Bosnian killer and assisanate him. The invasion of Iran by forces led by Colonel Thorn has the desired effect. Colonel Thorn kills the Iranian general responsible for the wave of terrorism that has been engulfing the United States. This is a very good book. Bond displayed a knowledge of terrorism with this book. This is a must read.
Rating: Summary: Gripping and grimly plausible! Review: This book was impossible to put down. Once Bond set the stage, the action was non-stop. Devistating attack followed attack. From riots in Chicago to exploding propane trucks in Seattle to airliner shoot-downs in DC, Bond hits where America is vulnerable, and hits hard. Like his other books, this one is so plausible that I half-expect that a foreign terrorist organization is using it as a reference. Unlike his other books, the action of the books is fast, gruesome, horribly realistic, and taking place on American soil. I read this book from one in the morning until six-thirty. I just could not put it down
