Review: Fat Tuesday is sure no Executive. The story line is thin, and where there could be a little more the plot, it leaves you flat. You start with a villian you love to hate and add a hand raised virgin bride, who though seems to be some what intelligent, is too whimpy for words. This is where the editors let the audience, readers, down. There could of been more character added to the heroine, a little more to let you know what she had to face. Instead they give you the ice queen. By the time you figure out what she is facing you don't care. The hero is a stressed out cop, who is guilty of shooting his own partner. Sandra lets out too much information on the whys in his character structure, why the underlying guilt, and what he is up against.
Personally I was looking for another block buster, I got a whimp. It should of been called Thin Tuesday--- get yourself a new editor, they let us down on this one.

Summary: Sandra Brown is a jewel in the romantic suspense crown
Review: New Orleans Law Enforcement Officer Burke Basile has become a near berserker as his life falls apart. During an official drug raid, his partner accidentally dies from a bullet fired by Burke. His personal life also goes down the drain when he catches his spouse sharing a shower with another person. Burke seeks revenge on the person he holds responsible for the utter collapse of his life.
...... To enact his vengeance on master criminal Pinkie Duvall, attorney to the rich and infamous, Burke first resigns from the force. He next poses as a priest to kidnap Pinkie's wife, Remy, an unloved trophy. The success of the kidnapping sparks a war between the ex-cop and the lawyer that spills all over the streets of Mardi Gras-bound New Orleans. However, it was not in the plan that the guard and the prisoner would fall in love with each other. Honor aside, with the muscle of the mob behind Pinkie, it appears that the criminal element will win this time unless a miracle occurs.
........Sandra Brown is one of the leading authors of romantic suspense, a creative talent that please fans of both genres. FAT TUESDAY is clearly a Ms. Brown novel because it is loaded with plenty of action, fabulous characters set in the Big Easy, and a rousing sexual romance. Though the good vs the bad scenario seems at first glance to be quite simplistic (so was STAR WARS), this is one suspense-laden book that will be enjoyed by everyone.

Review: I've never been much of a reader, so when I started reading like a manic, this was the second book that I picked up to read. This was the first book of Sandra Browns that I've had the honor to read. I usually pick up a book and if it does not grip me from the beginning I will not finish it. I read this book back a few months ago and it is still fresh in my mind. So I would have to say that it is a great book!

Summary: she's done it again
Review: I don't think I have ever been disappointed in any of her mystery books. This one was a little different in that the main character was a man rather than a woman. He, Burke Basil, is a cop who accidently shot and killed his partner. He wants to get the man, Pinkie Duval, who he thinks has been behind many of the crimes being perpetrated in his area. Pinkie has been too clever to get caught by normal means, so Burke decides to go after him in an unconventional manner. He quits his job and decides to go after the one thing he thinks will upset Pinkie the most, Pinkie's wife, Remy. He kidnaps Remy, and then things really get cooking. The story keeps you interested til the last page.

Summary: A Big Disappointment
Review: I'm somewhat new to reading crime novels, but I know there are better writers out there. FT's plot & characters are interesting and well-developed, but Brown's writing is full of cliche and overused metaphors. I couldn't loose myself in the well-crafted story because I was embarrassed for the author. I will likely try another of Brown's novels before I give up on her, but I can't take much more like this one.

Summary: Another great from Sandra Brown
Review: Burke Basille is one of a few good men, a cop in New Orleans Narcotic Department trying to bring the bad to justice. When a drug bust goes horribly wrong, and the Justice Department fails him, Burke quits his job in order to get the bad guys, including rotten cops, no matter the cost.The characters we great, you really got a sense on who they are and why they are the way they are.
I gave this book four stars because the beginning was very slow and I had to force myself to stay interested. But from about the middle on I couldn't put the book down. The ending fully made up for the slow start, I'm glad I kept reading!
