Rating: Summary: Freshen Up Your Walk with Fresh Faith Review: Inspiring and frank, Cymbala's second book is hard to put down. It is convicting yet loving. It has changed the way I look at faith--and people of faith. A must read for anyone struggling with or new to Christianity.
Rating: Summary: Old, old story...fresh, fresh faith Review: Pastor Cymbala lets God speak for himself in this book. God's old, old story of salvation which touches different people in different ways will touch you, too. Nobody can come away from this book without feeling revived, rebuked or wanting to know more of God's amazing salvation. PLEASE READ IT! Read it as a church, read it alone, buy it for others!
Rating: Summary: Fresh Faith Can Help Freshen Your Faith! Review: Personally, I thought Cymbala's book was an excellent and timely read, especially during a time of spritual dryness that Christians occasionally encounter. Some of the interesting points Cymbala covers include: 1. God can free us from the bondage of the past. 2. God is impressed with the heart, not with outward appearances. 3. We sometimes need to say no to good activities so we can follow God. 4. Many of our struggles have to do with God's timing. 5. Let God do things Himself and do not give in to unbelief and impatience. 6. Some people are not good for us to be around - ask God for wisdom in avoiding those people and ask for people who would be good for you. 7. Approach God boldly to cleanse you. 8. When we stop living by faith, we get into trouble. 9. We must allow God to refine us in His likeness. 10. We will not be ashamed when we trust God. Read and be encouraged to have your faith in Christ be renewed and made stronger in Him!
Rating: Summary: Not some Neo-Charismatic Hoopla Review: Praise God, a wonderful little book on faith that isn't written from some sort of hype centered around "positive confession" and acting like problems we encounter in life really don't exist. Filled with powerful real life examples of faith in action, Cymbala shows us how faith overcomes even the most difficult of problems we are faced with, including deep inner trama's from our past. He also shows us that the Church has gotten off track, being more concerned about building programs and cash flow, yet these are things Paul was never concerned with with the congregations he oversaw. Rather, he was concerned with the level of faith each congregation had, knowing that if a congregation's faith was off, then everything else would be too. He says we as the Church need to live in the spirit of anticipation of what Christ is going to do, instead of simply living in the here-and-now or in our past. We need to be a people constantly trusting upon the promises of God.

Rating: Summary: Life Changing Review: the degree to which this work impacted me is inexpressable -- it is doctrinally sound, intellectually balanced, unquestionably Spirit-inspired, motivating and encouraging -- i have worn out two sets by repeated listening and given several copies away -- this is worth listening to!!!
Rating: Summary: Pastor Cymbala does it again! Review: The pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle has done it again! His new book, "Fresh Faith" really does help one to yearn for that freshness of spiritual faith. Pastor Cymbala, not only shares some of the things that are happening in his congregation (and those stories ALONE are breathtaking), but also helps us to understand some of the great biblical stories from the aspect of faith and God's faithfulness. Don't be mistaken: This is NOT a "Word of Faith" book, and the author quite clearly states that fact. But, if read carefully, it will help the seeking believer to trust God's Word and to have faith inspired in their soul. All the stories and scriptures are inspiring. What is even more inspiring is a TRIP up to the BIG APPLE and a worship experience with this congregation. The only thing better than the book is THE TRIP.
