Rating: Summary: One of the few "truly moving" books I've read Review: Michael Newton, a self described 'former skeptic' used regression as part of his hypnotherapy practice. It was when he discovered he could regress people to a period before their current life that got him beliving in reincarnation. Then he got the idea to explore the period between lives where one exists as a discarnate soul. Chapters on Death, Homecoming, Orientation, Transition, Guides, Soul levels, Life Selection and Rebirth.
Rating: Summary: this book is the spiritual truth Review: This book is a must for those who want to know what it is like where a loved one goes after death. After losing someone you love, the painful grief and despair can be eased by this book and more so by michael newton's second book destiny of souls. For those who dont believe it is possible, i say judge for yourself. That is all that can be said.....
Rating: Summary: Believe it or not Review: Whether you believe in "reincarnation" and "life between life" or not, this book is a treasure in understanding & accepting your own personal spirituality and connection with the universe. Mostly written in a "dialogue" format (between Dr Newton and his clients) - but still containing some thoughtful analysis by Dr Newton, I found the book easy and entertaining to read. No one can, or probably ever will, be able to "absolutely" prove or disprove the notion of life between life (i.e., in between our reincarnations, where are we?) - but this book certainly presents the information in a thoughtful, intelligent manner. Through deep-trance hypnosis, Dr Newton claims to have tapped into the crucial state of being our souls experience in-between our incarnations on earth - i.e., the "life between life". Many of his clients had very similar things to say about this state, and I found it utterly fascinating to picture this place, this existence, in my own mind. Honestly, I regard this book as spiritual food for thought. While reading, and after, I found myself genuinely looking at myself, how I got here and what reasons might be behind my life. Definitely a book to be read with an open mind, and whether in the end you believe the premise or not, it will still provoke a more rounded and expansive view of your own spirituality. (Please note - the key words are "open mind"!)
Rating: Summary: The Universal Adventure is Endless Review: This publication of Newton is a very practical, down to Earth treatise of the subject of life after life. What actually do happen after death, does human experience continue and how? How and why do some souls decide to either come back to Earth, to try on other planets, and/or other realities in order to continue their spiritual journey? What does motivate a soul to either stay on the other side or to return to Earth for another experience? Michael Newton, with help from a few hypnotized patients, on this book and on its sequel Destiny of Souls, investigates the possible answers to these and other similar questions regarding soul progression and spiritual evolution.

Rating: Summary: Response to Mr. M.D.Baker's Criticism and my review Review: I came here to write a review of what I believed to be one of the most wonderful books I've ever read. But first, Mr. Baker, before reviewing something, get your facts straight. Don't skim through a book and then write a review on it. I wish I hadn't loaned my book out, I'd be able to quote directly from the book, but it does discuss souls of animals, plants, insects, inanimate objects, etc. It says EVERYTHING has a soul - everything is made up of energy. It's just that humans are more advanced and to reincarnate into one of them would be taking a step back. That is something we never do. We can be stuck at a level, but we never back track. I'm sorry animal lovers, I love animals also, but we ARE more advanced. Also, how would he validate what he's writing about... it's "heaven"! Have you found a history book on heaven? Now for my review of the book. It was an eye opener for many things that have happened to me, but I couldn't find an answer for. So many thoughts and ideas I had (and wondered about) where discussed and validated for me. I couldn't put it down. I had to read it all the way through. It's what I call an "ah ha" book. You have a much more clearer understanding after reading the book. I'd have to read excerpts to my boyfriend as I read. Even he was fascinated with the book and he's not studying to be a hypnotherapist as I am.
Rating: Summary: Great book, - answer to M.D. Barker Review & then some! Review: What? This book is about people, not animals! Is there a horse or dog you can hypnotise and get a transcript about a past life from?? I don't personally know any that I could communicate on that level with! Also, just because a book doesn't mention animals doesn't mean that they don't have souls. The author doesn't work w/ animals, he works w/ people. So, I question the validity of your review. I think it was unfair and has little to no basis for your criticisms. Your arguments about some other issues are overshadowed by the animal thing. I think another issue, is that you are focusing too much on what Dr. Newton should have put in his book. It was a study of hypnotism of people and what they experienced. It doesn't neccisarily fit into a neat explanation! Which means it may not mention some of the beliefs we have today. These are case studies... which means you report what happens. You don't try to make it conform to anything... which to me, makes his findings more believable! The book is very informative...compelling and hard to put down! Even if you don't believe in reincarnation or past lives, you may have some doubts! It's interesting if nothing else. The author is not only a great doctor, but a very talented author! I would highly recommend this book, if for nothing else but to expand your horizons!
Rating: Summary: Journey Of Souls Review: If you are of the view that death is the end, then this book provides a little food for thought and delivers to the reader an alternative. I can understand how many readers rave about this book - we all want to believe that as individuals we do not reach our final destination and that the road we travel is a journey without a destination. I was more interested with what this book did not say. For example is the soul only exclusive to humans? I guess so because none of the case stories refered to other occupants of our planet such as dogs, apes or dolphins. One would presume that prior to pre modern man we were subject to a world without souls. I would also have appreciated that subject past lives were validated with historical references - Doctor Newton did not comment upon this, which would of at least provided some validity. Also, like many books of this elk, it fails to deliver a scientific alternative. For example, it is well documented that as the human brain shuts down our vision fades into a tunnel of light and chemicals are released that create a feeling of well being. This view is not considered when describing the story of our soul departing the body. Why? Perhaps it would taint what we prefer to believe. In conclusion it is an enthralling read, but would be dangerous to be taken at face value. Please balance the easy to believe story with other theories... then believe.
Rating: Summary: The best - buy it now! Review: This is a great book, but don't take my word for it - prove it to yourself by reading it as soon as you can! Dr. Newton has taken this subject to a whole new level and beyond (No pun intended!) You won't be disappointed.
