Rating: Summary: "I'd Rather Laugh" Review: Linda Richman's inspirational biography is a must read. When I started to read this book I was crying and then I realized I was laughing..Linda's truth about how she views life and it's sadness is an enlightening journey to survival...Life sure did dole out it's share of horror to Linda..We have all experienced at least some or may be all of what she has lived. I felt as though I were sitting across from her, sharing a cup of coffee. I felt as though I knew her as a friend. I shall reread this book many times, her words are wisdom and truth..
Rating: Summary: woman of strength Review: I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who needs to laugh, be uplifted and feel good. You don't have to have lost a child (although I did) in order to enjoy this book and get the goodie out of it. I have read countless grief books since my son died but this book has helped me more than any of them. She actually made me cry and laugh at the same time and laughing is not something that I do a lot of since my son died. This book is for anyone...anyone who likes to laugh and who has a good sense of humor. Linda Richman is a gem!!
Rating: Summary: SHEER JOY Review: I CAN'T RECALL READING A MORE INSPIRATIONAL BOOK. IT SEEMS THAT NO MATTER WHAT LIFE HANDED HER, LINDA RICHMAN FOUND A WAY TO FIND HUMOR IN HER SITUATION. HER ATTITUDE TOWARDS LIFE'S HARDSHIPS HANDED ME A ROADMAP THAT I HAVE USED AS A GUIDE. I'VE BOUGHT SEVERAL COPIES AS GIFTS FOR FRIENDS. I'D RATHER LAUGH IS FUNNY, TENDER AND WELL WRITTEN. BRAVO MS. RICHMAN. I HOPE THERE ARE MORE BOOKS ON THE WAY!
Rating: Summary: I'd Rather Cry,This Book Was So Bad. Review: this is a very touching and funny book. linda had to overcome some enormous obstacles and yet has a very skewed and funny way of seeing things. her relationship with her mother was difficult and she pulls no punches about that. what i loved was that this book is honest, gut wrenching and humorous all at the same time. linda sees life as i wish i did. as rosie o'donnell said in the introduction, linda is who she is and by being herself she enhances everyones life around her. i wish i could know her. her strength and courage is catching. i read this book in one day and was left wanting more.ihope she writes more and more and more. i was lucky enough to be at lindas lectures and i laughed and cried the whole time. at the book signing she was warm and gracious and compassionate. i feel very lucky to have found linda and this wonderful book.
