Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Woman Review: In the book A Gracious Plenty I think the book was good. There are some parts of the book l liked and disliked. In A Gracious Plenty I liked it when they were at the ceremony and Finch heard the baby crying and her and Luck tried to help him to stop and they took him on a ride in Finch's car. Then Marcus stops the car for a little bit. I feel that helped March a lot, but it also helped Finch to help herself. In the book I also liked the messages that caught my eye like "We choose our truths the way we choose our gods single slightly single mindedly, no other way to feel or see think. We lock ourselves into our way and click all the truths to one." I feel that message makes you think about life. The only part I really disliked is when you start reading you don't know if Finch is dead are alive when she starts to talk. Some times you don't know if the people Finch is talking to is alive or dead too. At times it can be confusing. I would recommend this book to people who have an open mind about the after life.
Rating: Summary: An interesting subject Review: Gracious Plenty is a great book to read. The narrator Finch Noble did a wonderful job keeping the story exciting. It caught my attention and kept my imagination throughout its entire length. Finch makes it easy to understand the spirits and ghosts. I felt that I was lost in the cementary of voices with her. I wanted to hear more about the stories of the dead. Whenever I go to the cementary I can't help not thinking about all the spirits that are surrounding us in this world. It is an intriguing piece of fiction, and I am a person who does not like to read.
Rating: Summary: It's A Must Read Review: Gracious Plenty is a intersting book to read even though it's a non-fiction book it will keep your mind wondering what's going to happen next. The book has only one flaw it holds no pictures, which could have made it more amusing if i could actually see the dead people. I would recommend this book to people that are into mysterys and ghosts.
Rating: Summary: You Gotta Read It!!! Review: A Gracious Plenty is a great novel that I enjoyed reading. Although this was my first time reading a book by Sheri Reynolds, I was amazed by her novel. The book was centered around Finch, a young girl who's face was burned as a child. This novel made me realize that people don't look for the good in a person, they only look for their faults. Once I started to read this novel I thought it was great, and it is one that everybody should read.
Rating: Summary: Life Or Death Review: A Gracious Plenty By: Sheri Reynolds was a very intereasting book. From the first time that I started to read this book it caught my attention that i just couldn't stop reading this book. The way she describes the character's, the way that she makes you wonder is Finch dead or alive. Or when you stop and wonder what will happen next. Each character had their own story to tell which made it intereasting to know what happen to each person. The mystery of why the baby was crying? or what happened to William Blott or to Lucy is what makes you say i want to keep reading. The book was very unique since it had it's own way of describing things. If your the type of person that enjoys mystery's or if you like action and seeing what can happen to people. Or if you just simply wonder how would the life be of dead people then this is your book and I'd have to strongly recommend it to you. Now if your not into scary, ghost stories and if you don't like books without pictures then this is not your book. If you don't like getting confused then this ain't your book. This book from the beginning caught my attention I especially loved the way the book started and if you just read a little I know that your going to be wondering what's next? why did she say that? or what will happen? Honestly i recommend this book to you it's a good book and it makes you think and wonder. So if you have a chance read it and see for your-self.
Rating: Summary: CHARACTERS WITH ISSUES Review: THIS BOOK HAS MANY ISSUES. THE MAIN CHARACTER OF THE BOOK FINCH NOBLES GETS BURNED BADLY AS A KID AND LEAVES HER SCARED FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE. SHE HAS NO FRIENDS EXCEPT FOR HER MOM, DAD, STRAY CATS, AND THE DEAD PEOPLE. THEIR IS A GUY IN THE BOOK THATS A CROSS DRESSER AND BREAST FEEDS A BABY SOMEHOW DON'T ASK. A GIRL NAMED LUCY WHO WAS FORCED TO DO WHATEVER HER MOM WANTED HER TO DO. THEN WHEN SHE GROWS UP SHE SLEEPS WITH GUYS TO BUY A GUN AND BLOWS HER BRAINS OUT. THEN THERES LEONARD WHO IS HATED BY HIS DAD BECAUSE HE IS A WUSS, FAT, A DISSAPOINTMENT, AND HIS DAD BLAMES HIM FOR THE DEATH OF HIS LITTLE BROTHER. THE CHARACTERS WITH ALL THEIR PROBLEMS MOVE THE BOOK ALONG BUT ALSO MAKE YOU FEEL SORRY THEM AS WELL AS WONDERING HOW TWISTED AND DEMENTED THEY REALLY ARE. OVERALL ITS A GOOD BOOK AND IT CAN KEEP YOU INTERESTED. IT ALSO HAS SUPRISE TWISTS IN IT ALSO. TO ME IT SEEMED LIKE THE AUTHOR WAS TRYING TO GET THE POINT ACROSS OR MESSAGE THAT WE SHOULDN'T JUST JUDGE A PERSON FOR WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE AND SOME OF THE THINGS THEY DO. SOMETHING IN THIS WORLD TODAY THAT IS YET TO BE DONE.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Novel Review: A gracious plenty of friends is definitely what Finch has although the average individual doesn't identify with her or her friends. This novel caught my imagination and kept it through out its entire length. I could not put it down and now I want another book of its quality to read. The most wonderful thing about the novel is its idea of how individuals do not look at the whole person--they only look at the faults that a person has. And yet, as we learn through the novel that we all have faults, some are just visible.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: What a wonderful book to read, especially after you've read an action packed, fast moving, intense book. This book moves at a leisurely pace, yet it provides its readers an insight into the character's lives--alive and dead. It was quite a pleasant surprise to read. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: A Gracious Read Review: What a beautiful book this was. I was lost in the cemetery of voices along with Finch Nobles. I wanted to hear the stories of those who left this earth. They were sad, tragic and even humorous but they needed to be told and Finch was there to listen. I was only a little disppointed in the ending when the storm wiped all the ghosts away and Finch was left alone. But, I suppose Finch needed to get on with her own life just like we all do. I hope to read other novels by Sherri Reynolds she is truely a gifted writer.
Rating: Summary: A gracious, mystical book of plenty Review: Finch Nobles was terribly burned as a child, and as a result she hides from most of human society. But she's welcome in the graveyard she passionately tends, where the dead -- including her beloved parents and an always-squalling baby -- speak to her, telling the tales that will eventually allow them to progress along the path they must take. When a local eccentric is buried in the cemetery, however, everything -- including the dynamics of the town just outside the graveyard gates -- is changed, and Finch finds herself forced to allow living beings into her life -- and let the dead follow their own road.
