Summary: A brave book
Review: A girl named Marcy Louis is having problems at school. What happens is a teacher that the eighth graders finally like, has got suspended by the principal for not having her class say the pledge of allegiance. So Marcy and three other students that where in the same class stud up and demanded that they let there teacher back into the school. I think Paula Danziger did a very good job on this story, She made the story very interesting. I think if the author made another The Cat Ate My Gym suit I would read it.

In the story at Marcy's house no one is getting along. Marcy, her mother, and baby brother. Aren't getting along with Mr. Louis, Because Mr. Louis thinks Marcy is doing something wrong.

Whould you have stud up for your teacher like that?

Finally things are settled, but you have to have to read the book to find out the great ending.
The Cat Ate My Gym suit is a book I think every one should read this book. This book relates to kids in Jr. High School and other people. I like this book, because it is funny and in some way relates to me. The name of this book does not mean any thing. The name of this book doesn't mean any thing. The book is mostly about some one taking up for them selves.

Every man, woman, and child should read this book, because it is the best.

Summary: Great Book for Plus Sized Girls
Review: I read this book when I was a kid (I'm 25 now). It was the only book I ever remember reading back then where the protagonist was a larger girl, and all of the problems she went through. It was like reading about my own life. This book still sticks out in my head as being a great read about trying to fit in, and the fat girl getting the guy in the end. They should have more books like this for larger girls that feel so out of place.

Summary: Great Book!!!!!!!!!
Review: This was one of the best books that I have ever read. I had to read this book for a school project and I did not really want to do this book but it was that or some [...]book. So I chose this book. THis book is about girl named Marcy who has the most horrible life that anyone could imagine. Her father is abusive, she is a dork at school. She has had quite a few acne attacks. She is very smart but she hates school because of gymclass because she is very fat and doesnot like changing into her gymsuit. The only good thing is that her best friend is the most popular girl in school but only because thier moms are on the PTA together. That all changes when she gets a teacher named Ms. Finney who makes school fun and makes lfe better for marcy. One day Ms. Finney got suspended for no t sayindg the Pledge of Alligence but only because the principal and everyone else did not like her teaching methods. They dispised her. Because she was weird. The rest is all history and you will have to buy the book from Amazon.com because they have a great price. P.S. The old cover was way better. Where she was sitting on the green porch. Because the book did not have anything to do with a cat. So that was a stupid cover idea.

Summary: I remember the original cover...
Review: It is amazing what a book can do for you. I am 27 years old. I still remember reading this book when I was in 3-4th grade. The cover of the book showed Marcy on steps, she had blonde hair, and I remember reading this, and not wanting to go out to play with my cousins. The title stuck out so much. I am a mother of two now, and it doesn't seem like that long ago when I read the book. I am going back, and trying to recover all those books I grew up with as a kid. Because I enjoyed them so much, I want MY kids to read them as well. It is amazing... amazing that I remember the title, and amazing reading other reviews of other young readers, and their reaction to the book. I hope they will remember the impact it has on them as it did for me. Even 20 years later!! Thank you for the memories!!!

Summary: The Cat Ate My Gymsuit
Review: This was a great book for all ages!! One of the best books I have ever read!

Summary: Good young adult choice
Review: The Cat Ate My Gymsuit is a standard "topical" young adult novel. At times it seems a little bit forced in the sense that the authror is trying very hard to show how much her characters suffer from the same concerns, fears, etc. of adolescents. But overall the characters fit smoothly into the plot and the events are realistic / interesting. A few too MANY problems are addressed--abusive parents, drug dependency, and alternative teaching methods--but the solid and believable ending make up for the shortcomings. Overall a good choice.

Summary: The best bok ever!
Review: This was the most incredible book I have ever read! Marcy's always wanted to be a writer, but English class was so boring. That's when Ms. Finney came along. She showed them that to live happily, you must understand and accept the world around you. Also, that you can't live being a smarmy old coot. If you like a realistic book with lots of zany humor, you'll love this book.

Summary: Every girl who's not Ms. Popularity should read this book!
Review: I read this book over fifteen years ago, and remember it as vividly as yesterday.

Marcy is a well-rounded protagonist, and not just literally. However, as a teenager, she sees herself -- her self-image -- as one of her biggest problems.

There is SO much more to this story than Marcy's grey sweatshirt!

She is lucky enough to not only have a supportive (albeit kinda weak-willed) mother, an adoring little brother, good friends, and a teacher who teaches her about SELF-esteem.

I came across this title when looking for Paula Danziger and hope to find grown-up books by her. If I *can't* find any, though, I will happily reread all the kids' books again. Absolutely delightful -- I would have done well with a Ms. Finney if I'd been so blessed.

Summary: Ewwwww!
Review: I read this book for school and wow is it bad! It's boring and stupid. I know it's supposed to be from the point of view of a teen girl, but it is written so choppy and ungrammattically correct that it is torturous to read. And to top that off, the story's not so great. It's kind of typical and predictable. My advice: skip this one!
