Summary: Not so good
Review: I used to enjoy reading Johanna Lindsey's books, but the quality of her writing seems to have declined in recent works. I found this story to be poorly written and I struggled to finish it.

Review: This book was fantastic and Wulfric is hot! I was shocked to see it did not receive 5 stars. Once you get through the first chapter it is smooth sailing. Johanna Lindsey did it again.

Summary: Taming of the Shrew Redux
Review: I generally enjoy most Johanna Lindsey books, and this book didn't actually disappoint me. It just didn't inspire me, either.

The story is that the heroine and the hero are betrothed, and neither wants to be. The heroine is a major tomboy - a big no no for medievil times. The hero doesn't want to be trapped with such a screw-up. While this storyline isn't exactly original, it can still be fun to read.

Both the hero and the heroine are not exactly unlikable either. There's no physical violence perpetrated by the hero on the heroine to "tame" her. Instead, it's more just the idea that she needs to compromise more to fit with what society expects, and that the hero should be understanding.

Basically, this book has all the ingredients of an excellent Johanna Lindsey romance, it's just basically tepid. No spark or fire. If you love Lindsey, you will probably like this. You just may not love it.

Summary: Despite the Negative Reviews I loved It!
Review: I initially read the reviews on Amazon and was a little leery of reading the book. I LOVED IT! Wulfric was commanding and Mili was too stubborn for words. I just wished they would have gotten the misunderstanding out of the way sooner...:-).

I have read every Lindsey that is out there and can't wait to realize that she has a new one. I was disappointed in the last two (All I Need is You); and the (The Present). I am not going to give up on her though. I remember the Captive Bride and how entranced I was by the "had a baby, didn't tell you, didn't want you to know theme" I loved it. She is still the best!

Review: What can I say, this was a great book! I was surprised to see so many negative reviews on this one - are you sure you read the same book? This is classic Johanna Lindsey, if you enjoy her books then add this one to your list!

Summary: Good but not great
Review: I love Johanna Lindseys books, but this is not one of her best(mediocre really) but still enjoyable. The story was weak but the characters were interesting. Wulf and Mili had a very unpleasant meeting as children and neither wanted to marry the other. The best thing about the book is how they gradually came to know each other as adults, and found out they could like and respect each other. Slowly their romance built in a much more realistic fashion then you normally see. The rest of the book is pretty standard, with even the villain(s) not causing much excitement or worry.

For Lindsey fans out there, there is no way you're going to pass on one of her books.(Just as I didn't) But know that she has definitely written better. Let's look forward to 'The Heir' shall we!

Summary: Why is it that every J.L. book I love people tear apart?
Review: I have read almost all of her books. J.L. has a few books that are horribble. I do not like it in a book were the hero abuses the herione beyond the point were you just dont like the hero any more no matter what he does to redeem himself. That was how it was for me in Heart of Thunder. But when she writes a good book its damn good. I loved every character in Defy not the Heart and people on the reviews just dogged it because of one part they did not like. I thought the part was funny. Sometimes people need to look at it in a different view. I loved this book almost as much as Defy not the Heart. Too bad not that many people liked this. I certinly enjoyed this and would reccomend it to almost anyone. But not all people have the same taste for over bearing men that I do.

Summary: Not JL's best!
Review: I have read all of JL's books and this one is definetly NOT her best. The characters and plot are one dimensional and shallow. The whole premise is unbelievable and it very hard to identify with or even like any of the characters. I found the book boring and hard to read unlike her other novels that I have loved.

What I would like to see Ms. Lindsay do in a future book is write about more mature characters. I think that would be a pleasant challenge for her and a treat for her long time readers.

Review: To sum it up....Bland. I was kind of disappointed. Ms. Lindsey has been my favorite author since I started reading romances and I was expecting a better read. Let's just hope she's in a slump that she'll snap out of quickly.

Review: Like all my favorite authors, Linsey has lost her touch. Every time I find an author I really like, two things happen. 1.They start coming out with hardcovers because of their previous success. 2. Their hardcore novels are generally badly written. It is something I still can't figure out but it happens every time. Maybe they figure we loved their previous books so much we will shell out for at least their first 2 hardcovers so they don't have to put that much effort into them! I have learned my lesson. Either wait for paperback, or put my name on the list at the library. If her books keep up like this, it won't be that long of a list.
