Rating: Summary: Not her best Review: I am a huge Johanna Lindsey fan. I was slightly disappointed in this book however. I wasn't drawn to the hero and the heroine seemed kind of hard to like. Although her characters were not up to par in this book, I still enjoy her writing style and will buy her books again.
Rating: Summary: Wouldn't suggest this book to others. Review: I have enjoyed some of her previous books, but this one could not compare with them. I thought the charactures were shallow, although they fought very well with each other and I enjoyed the fights. I didn't feel that the main charactures were really in love. The supporting charactures were great.
Rating: Summary: Great book, but bring back the Fabio covers. Review: I am an avid Johanna Lindsay fan and really liked this book. The "joining" was rather late in the story so there was not so much of the steamy reading that we see in Gentle Rogue(my favorite + first book of hers). But the intrigue and character development makes it a "can't put down book". I like when she revisits favorites of mine like Ranulf and Reina (Defy not the Heart) who's son Roland is in this book. Though it would not follow her pattern I'd like to see Roland and Jhone get together. There could be lots of steamy twists in that story. If I'm going to pay hard cover prices, I would at least like a Fabio or similar picture cover.
Rating: Summary: where is the humor? Review: I have bought and read every one of Joanna Lindsey's books and the reason I love her books so much is because of the humor and the availability of them. First she stops writting paperback and goes to hardback which makes the waiting much longer and the price outrageous, then she seems to have lost the ability to make us laugh. Joining was not what I expected from her, but I still love her books and will continue to buy them sight unseen
Rating: Summary: Not up to Ms. Lindsey's normal standard. Review: I have every book Johanna Lindsey has ever written and I have loved every one. However, this last one was disappointing. Additionally, I regret that I paid the price of the hardcover for it. I should have waited until it came out in paperback. I know she can do much, much better, and I am waiting for her next book.
Rating: Summary: Is anyone else getting tired of the same old same old.... Review: I LOVE JOHANNA LINDSEY but this one is lacking, we wait and wait for her books to come out and then we get this. I have all of her books, several covers for each, all of the abridged and unabridged Audio, invested a lot of money and time. And now with them comming out in hard cover 1st, that much more money just to be dissapointed. The story was good and would have liked it if it wasn't just so predictable for the true JL fan. Same old same old... girl doesnt want guy, guy doesn't want girl, forced to be together... then they discover they are in love. If I hadn't read all of her other book I probaly would have liked it but I know she is capable of so much better. I will always be greatfull for all that Johanna Jindsey has given me through her books and the fact that her books got me REALLY interested in reading, but I will not be putting any more of my hard earned money into my collection unless there are some major changes. I hope I haven't offended anyone because I have goten 35 people into her books and reveiwed several Very positivly because they were Majestic, but I have to say what I feel.
Rating: Summary: A Big Disappointment Review: Ms Lindsay was the first romance writer that I had ever read and became one of my favorites, I could always count on her to take me away for an afternoon to another place and time...However this is NOT one of her usual great stories....nothing seemed to jell here at all....the plot was not that exciting and by the time Mili realized that she was in love with Wulf the book was almost over...too much "dead space", not enough dialogue between the characters....Ms Lindsay has written strong willed women before, but Mili was like a spoiled child, who wanted to do things her way all the time....I had a hard time finishing this book, but did hoping it would get better...Not one of her usual "can't put it down" stories.....
Rating: Summary: LINDSEY IS BACK Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK. IN FACT I HAVE READ IT THREE TIMES. AFTER READING HER LAST BOOK ON THE MALLORYS I HAD DECIDED TO PUT LINDSEY ON THE SHELF. SHE JUST COULDNT COMPARE WITH BARNETT AND DEFINATELY GARWOOD. WELL THIS BOOK HAS CHANGED THAT FEELING THE TWO CHARACTERS WERE PERFECTLY MATCHED. I LOVED MILI AND THE FACT THAT SHE WASNT GOING TO BACK DOWN TO WULFRIC. I REALLY DIDNT PICK UP ON ANY FRIENDSHIP WITH RANULF AND WULFRIC. I WANTED TO READ MORE OF THEM TOGETHER EXSPECIALLY SINCE HIS BOOK WAS SO SINCERE. BUT I REALLY ENJOYED THE BANNERTING OF THESE TWO LOVERS. I HOPE LINDSEY IS BACK TO WRITING HER STUFF AGAIN INSTEAD OF RUSHING OUT BOOKS LIKE THE MALLORYS XMAS. LETS GET SOME NEW CHARACTERS GOING. THE ONLY THING LEFT FOR THE MALLORYS IS JEREMY. THEN LET IT GO. BRING US BACK MORE TO THE MED EVIL DAYS AGAIN. GIVE US NEW FRESH CHARACTERS. ONCE AGAIN I LOVED THIS BOOK.
Rating: Summary: A dissapointment but still worth the read . . . Review: Given the past success of Lindsey, I would not rate this book as one of her better novels. It seemed childish and lacking in detail (I still don't know what the heroine looked like - I don't think she was ever described). There wasn't much of a spark between the main characters and some major plot holes in how the heroine thinks and behaves, not to mention the weak plot conflict. Still, it is a Lindsey and the great dialogue, as usual, makes for a fast and somewhat interesting read -- it's worth the time, if not the money so check your library first. I hope that with this May publication, she is returning to a May/December publishing schedule. I'm looking forward to more Malory stories.
Rating: Summary: I enjoyed it! Review: While it does lack the passion of most of her other books, I still really enjoyed the story. I wish there would have been more scenes with Milisant and Roland. I found the story quite entertaining...even without the graphic sex. I'm anxiously awaiting her next book.
