Rating: Summary: Great book!! Review: This was the second book by Nora I read. I enjoyed it tremendously. Her descriptive prowess made you feel like you were there. Three women, three men - hot, bothered, fighting feelings of desire - all on one island. Family secrets abounded. Great read. I will continue to read Nora Roberts!
Rating: Summary: great, great, great Review: the moment i picked it up, i knew it would be great! this is the first nora roberts ive read, and it wont be the last. mystery, suspense, romance all rolled into one....wonderful ::smile
Rating: Summary: This was one of the best books I've ever read Review: This book was outstanding! Nora Roberts is amazing. The story was great, the end was definitely not predictable until she wanted you to know and the characters were marvelous. I could not put this book down. I read it in 1 day. I wish every book that I pick up would keep me intrigued like this one did. I was never bored or not interested. My hat's off to Nora for this one!
Rating: Summary: Kept me guessing almost the whole book. Review: This is an excellent book. Just as soon as I thought iI knew who the stalker was, I would think it was someone else. One of the best mysteries I read in awhile.
Rating: Summary: Haven't read Nora Roberts? It is a good place to start BUT Review: I have read all of Nora Roberts books and enjoy them. Sanctuary was not one of my favorites. Kirby was wonderful - I liked her best. The suspense was minimal and predictable. I also didn't care for the hitting and punching aimed at the men by Jo Ellen and Lexy - these are grown up, sort of sophisticated southern women and this is how they handle frustration and anger? The ending was an anti-climax and strictly to formula. Can't touch the Concannon sisters trilogy or the Templeton House sagas, but good for an afternoon at the beach.
Rating: Summary: Good start, mediocre ending Review: The suspense builds pretty quickly which makes for interesting reading in the beginning. However, formulaic romantic couplings soon take the edge off. The ending is altogether too happy - all of the Hathaways will live happily ever after with their newly-found soul mates -- even poor 'ole Dad. A book that begins with a large amount of promising familial discord should try to end with some as well. To have it otherwise makes the reader feel slighted, as if the author doesn't trust the readers to be able to handle an ending which doesn't package up all of the sub-plots in a pretty box topped with a bright red bow.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyed the book greatly. Review: Sanctuary started off with a very exiting beginning. The use of descriptives such as "Angel of Death" gave me chills. It was difficult not to want to scan ahead to get more insight into "who" and "what" was going to happen next. The characters in the book were developed very well. They seemed like a real family; they loved and hated; they cried and yelled. The book also did a very good job and making me guess (incorrecly I might add) as to the name of the villian in the story. It was not until the name was given that I finally knew the name of the bad guy. All in all Sanctuary is very enjoyable page turner. The descriptions used in the book were very good at evoking joy, fear and sadness from me as I read each chapter
Rating: Summary: No surprize, Nora writes an entertaining mystery. Review: From the writer of those best who done it's like HOT ICE, Nora Roberts pulls off another winner. She protrays the making of a dysfunctional family, as their mother disappears one summer night. As the story gradually unwraps, the son of a killer returns to the scene of the crime, to face the family his father destroyed. Little does he realize that the crime is about to be repeated itself and what now will be the ending results. Can the family finally pull itself together to fight the demon
Rating: Summary: A really excellent novel. I couldn't put it down! Review: I found this book to be moving, funny, romantic, sexy, provocative, and suspenseful. I am usually the type of reader who can't get into a book very quickly, but this novel drew me in after the first couple chapters. I fell in love with Kirby the caring doctor, Jo Ellen the famous photographer, and Lexy the aspiring actress. All three women are forces to be reckoned with in this book. The men aren't too bad either. What a great introduction to a wonderful author. Nora Roberts is a well-kept secret
Rating: Summary: HOME IS NOT ALWAYS SANTUARY Review: NORA ROBERTS DID A GOOD JOB ON SUSPENSE IN THIS NOVEL. IT KEEPS YOU GUESSING AS TO WHO THE BAD GUY COULD BE. IF YOU LIKE MYSTERY/CONTEMPORARY, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU
