Summary: Some excellent ideas, but too wordy
Review: I quite liked the audio version of this book, but I don't think that the book added much - the habits themselves are good ones to adopt, but the book surrounds them with so much wordage and over-explanation that the overall message got lost somewhat. My advice would be to stick to the tape, and that, if you're going to read the book at all, do so selectively.

Summary: This book is for people who want to be a better person.
Review: It's common sense, but definitely not common practice. Knowing them is easy, but living them is not. I picked up this book during my most stressful time. It changed me since. I've re-read it many times, everytime I found new insights. Read it, understand it, and most importantly -- practice it.

Summary: If you want quick fix solutions, this book is NOT for you.
Review: Dr. Covey's use of metaphors to demonstrate his seven habits may, at first glance, give the appearance of common sense rules that everyone should know. However, a second reading of his book and an in depth understanding of his tapes will help unravel the mysteries of human motivation as well as provide suggestions on how to attain the goals and objectives for things that are truly important.

As Dr. Covey clearly states, this is not a quick fix book nor does it teach techniques that can be used to manipulate people. It is a life changing book that inspires and teaches us to continuously seek improvement in our lives; and, to be "a light, not a judge". If you want to learn how to "carry your own weather" with you, how to climb the ladder of success that leans against the correct wall, or how to deal with that difficult employee, employer, or child, this book is meant for you.

Summary: Excellent - Covy hits it right on the mark
Review: If this book doesn't change you nothing will. Don't waste time reading reviews, read the book. Don't be fooled though, these steps require practice. Don't buy this book looking for an easy change.

Summary: No other book has had a stronger impact on me so far
Review: If you read this book at the right time of your thought development, it will change dramatically the way you look at yourself, the way you look at others, the way you live your life, what you think you can do. Many books are deep, this one can transfer its depth onto you in a very effective way.

Summary: A grand waste of time and money.
Review: I really wanted to like this book. I was looking forward to this book. The hype was incredible. But what I was treated to was nothing but repetition, repetition, repetition. Sure, things are how you look at it. But where do we go from here? Do I need 100 pages of the old woman/young woman optical illusion that we have ALL seen in school? I don't think so. Covey's statements of personal faith are not going to be agreeable with all religions, and frankly, were irrelevant to the book. The First Habit, for me, is going to be not wasting my time with books such as this. I was severely disappointed.

Summary: phenomenal and down to earth.........
Review: Thank you Steve Covey..as a result of diligent study of this book my business has expanded 4 fold in only 6 weeks! The bottom line is the character ethic, foundation on principles and human relationships.

I highly recommend this book, especially if you haven't 'looked into a mirror' lately !

Summary: A OUTSTANDING BOOK!
Review: Stephen Covey has written one of the best works ever in personal development and a refreshing change from so much verbage out there in other works. I have been an avid student of personal development since the 70's and learned a lot from this excellent work. I also highly recommend "SUPERSELF" by Charles Givens, another extraordinary work by an equally extraordinary man. I have read & reread Seven Habits and SuperSelf several times over the last few years and always get something new out of each every time. Excellent books to help you succeed in any area of endeavor.

Summary: why americans need the obvious spelled out
Review: Typical american plastic people language stating the absolutely obvious. This book probably is a great explanation why there is no such thing as "American humour". Only americans can identify a scarcity approach to life, too many apes on too small a rock. However, thank God that theyt managed to produce Michael Jordan !!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A springboard to the only true success!
Review: The timeless principles taught changed my character, my relationships, and my life! What else can you ask for from a book?
