Rating: Summary: Changed my life Review: Before reading Rich Dad Poor Dad I used to listen to stock brokers who only made me broker. I only worked for an employer, now I have a very profitable side business. And I used to buy those boring 1,000 page financial books written by non financial people who don't know beans about money.RTK and his Rich Dad got me on the right track and non too soon. Thank you RTK. Thank you Rich Dad.
Rating: Summary: What Our Education System is Lacking Review: Throughout the beginning, middle and end or this book there was a considerable amount of time was spent explaining the main concepts as you would to a child. This is because this kind of material is foreign to most people and to break it down from the fundamentals and out is important in order to ensure understanding. Explaining what most people perceive contrasted to a rich person's view creates an epiphany for the reader. As you read along, this becomes more and more apparent and you begin to comprehend how vital these lessons are. Lessons on financial literacy, income taxes, corporations, balance statements, assets and liabilities are what we need in school. All people should have the privalege of knowing how to survive in the financially-established and insanely competitive world we live in. we need to incorporate Rich Dad's lessons into our curriculum and other significant and now essential aspects of our manifesting culture.
Rating: Summary: Incredible Series! Changes your Perspective!! GREAT BUY! Review: First let me say the review "All hot air! No substance whatsoever., March 24, 2004" by reviewer MissouriTiger is WAY off base & should be removed! This is obviously someone against the author in general. (Plus if you do any research OR READ THE BOOKS you find out where & how Kiyosaki made his money) ANYWAY, Mr. Kiyosaki has a great writing style that made this book interesting and not a "boring financial book" that we may be used to. In this book he mainly tells his story. He doesn't share any "get rich" schemes or secrets, but he deals with a more important issue, How we look at money & wealth - which is also more fascinating anyway. This perspective is the basis for wealth building and for his other books which are also great. I bought RD,PD - CashFlow Quad - & RD Guide to investing. Get this book! If you don't like it, resell it, but I've read mine multiple times! I really enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: All hot air! No substance whatsoever. Review: If you are looking for a book which is long on hype, but totally devoid of facts to back it up, then this is the book for you. There isn't any real information in this book, just a bunch of horn blowing, and cheerleading. The author offers no facts, nor anything concrete to lend credence to anything he says. I sincerely believe the author has spent a lot of time entereing bogus 5-star reviews of his book here at Amazon, because nothing else could explain so many positive reviews for such a joke of a book! I have attempted to research the author, and as far as I can tell, he has never made a dime in any business, except selling ridiculous books such as this. He claims to have gotten rich in business, but he never tells anyone exactly what business he was in. What was the name of his company? What products/services did his business offer? How many years was he in business? If he was so successful, why isn't he still doing it? John T. Reed has published an expose' on the internet. Go read it, but don't waste your time reading this book. If you want more opinions of what is wrong with this book, simply scroll to the drop-down list box on this page, and select the option to order the reviews by "lowest rating first." Then read a half-dozen of them, and they will say the same thing I'm saying. I'm sorry I wasted my money on this bag of wind.
Rating: Summary: Dare To Dream Review: A friend gave me his copy of this book seven years ago. I had a paradigm shift. My understanding of money changed. Now I have made quite a bit of money - little by little, but very consistently and boy does it add up. In a few years I will retire young and with the money to do what I wanted. Thanks Robert Kiyosaki and Rich Dad. I own this book and return to this page often to buy copies for friends and colleagues - it is a Karma thing. I figure that someone gave me a copy and it helped me out... I want to recommend that if you buy Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and you have kids, then buy The Child Whisperer by Matt Pasquinilli. The Child Whisperer has nothing to do with money, but the communication techniques I read about in The Child Whisperer, are equally responsible for my success - in other words, both books together gave me the understanding of money and myself that I needed to become a happier and wealthier man. As an added bonus, I became a better father to my son.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Review: Best book I have ever read. Life changing. The absolute best. This book really rocks.
Rating: Summary: Yeah--what did happen to the five star reviews??? Review: (...) Regarding Rich Dad Poor Dad....a new and different philosphy that actually works. (...)buy this book. More importantly, apply the concepts(...) Why read and follow Kiyosaki? There is a philosophy that I believe in; if you keep on doing what you have always done you will keep on getting what you have always got. The traditional ways of doing things does not work. (...) for those of us who are more ethical and believe in the American Free Enterprise system, Kiyoaski offers another, better, more ethical way...and it really works. Ask the 13 year old who bought a 3/2 rental or the 65 year who with no retirement left, created a retirement income in record time. Also recommend Rich Dad's Success Stories(...) Thank you Mr. Kiyosaki! Thank you Rich Dad!(...)
Rating: Summary: A review of Rich Dad, Poor Dad, highschool student P.O.V. Review: Rich Dad, Poor Dad had moments of brilliance and moments of boredom. As a highschool student, making life choices at the moment, I could relate to the life choices one must make in order to be a success; yet Kiyosaki's suggestions for success, reminded me of a self help book. Using such effective devices as, usage of personal connections with the reader, Kiyosaki also came off slimy. The slimy qualities coming from his sympathy and admiration for both his fathers, but a biased for wealth and power. The interest for me, as a young reader was his family story. One father would say, "I'm not interested in money," while the other would say, "Money is power." The parallel universes of his homelives, cultivated trust in the author. He shared personal moments of his life to later persuade a unhealthy love of money and the baggage it comes with. Overall, the book had some helpful suggestions and advice for building one's own power, yet he left out the richness of life and love, replacing it with materials.
