Summary: He's got 'em in the crosshairs, a one sided encounter
Review: Bill O'Reilly is givng the major networks fits and they deserve every spasm. In this tomelette he gives us a recounting of his interviews with various celebrities and notables in addition to some of his inside observations when they weren't on camera.

He's a straight ahead stand-up-guy who brooks no nonsense from the spinners who have been given a major pass for years by the religious Left; those who have dominated the desimination of information for the past 50 years. His show is a pleasure to watch, particularly for those of us who believe in individual liberty and the protection of private property rights that our constitution prescribes.

This book is a quick read and certainly worth the time. Hooray for Bill and may many others follow in his footsteps.

Summary: 5 Stars for O'Reilly, Fewer for His Book
Review: Having seen O'Reilly's show, and heard his radio program, only a few times before, this was a great introduction into his world. I respect him for attacking the status quo, for exposing the rampant corruption throughout industry and government (particularly during the Clinton joke of an administration), and for not soft-pedaling his views because of their potential to antagonize. With more folks like Bill O'Reilly around- be it in the media, law enforcement, or politics- there would be more accountability, less waste of our tax dollars, and less hate-mongering of a racial or sexual nature. We all tend to forget how outrageous things are when exposed to them for long enough...and need O'Reillys to shake things up and prevent complacency. Whether or not the inertia towards corruption and enablement has gone too far remains to be seen, but it's nice to know (and see in print) that not everyone is caving in too easily.

To my surprise, O'Reilly was more even-handed in his treatment that I'd anticipated. Despite Liberal whining to the contrary, O'Reilly does not have a totally conservative agenda. Liberals have a knee-jerk reaction to anyone that doesn't feel exactly as they do, regardless of the soundness of the logic of others. I am sure that the majority of Liberals posting on this board have not read this book, and/or their reviews reflect their inability to sift through the nuances of the material therein (which, actually, is about as subtle as a pie in the face). Many prominent Liberals have in fact avoided going on O'Reilly's show, including Jesse Jackson, and Hillary Clinton, surely recognizing the risk of exposure as too great, despite the countervailing opportunity to set the record straight (for instance, I gained a lot more respect for Rosie O'Donnell after reading a transcript of her appearance (not in this book)).

O'Reilly supports gay rights, for instance, and posts all of his views at the end of the book for the world to see. This was refreshing, since it's more commonplace to keep views ambiguous, should the need to change things, e.g., to suit potential voters, arise (right, Al Gore?). His "opposition" to the death penalty is specious, however, since he thinks that death is the easy way out for convicted murderers, and would rather consign them to a lifetime of hard labor. Good point, and I, too, and one of those who dislike the death penalty primarily for its leniency (torture of murdering criminals would be my preferred route).

I didn't give the No-Spin Zone more than three stars because I thought it was thrown together to capitalize on O'Reilly's favorable ratings, and that he could have done a lot better. It pretty much consists of patched-together show excerpts with (sometimes a minimum of) commentary. There's a lot of filler here, and waiting longer for this book's release necessarily meant that events such as September 11th could have been included. Plus, the book oftentimes speaks of "Spin" like a 12-step program or cult religion, and wasn't so much creepy as it was goofy and off-putting.

Summary: BRILLIANTLY WRITTEN!!!
Review: The only reason Mr. O'Reilly is successful in this world, is because he unveils lies and deceit in our world. And he does it from the most truthful news broadcasting services today--The Fox News Network.

So if your are into a dose if factual political life, check into this book and watch his show "The O'Reilly Factor" on FNN. Anybody clicking "no" in response to the question "Did you find this review helpful?" is very un-American. Simply put.

Summary: The same as the TV show !
Review: Nothing new!It covers the same topics as the first book did and the show covers. So whats the point of the book? Yes it does provide some comments from people that don't agree with him or his stance, yes it is a little short to spend money that could be spent on something else.

Summary: Ode to the Vast Right Wing Consirpacy
Review: This book should be titled "Spinning for Right Wing Conservatives." O'Reilly's preaching to the choir and the only people who are likely to be impressed are those already convinced, those who come from the same environment and background or believe that if everyone thought like him, the world would be perfect for them.

While O'Reilly claims the book is as a dialogue with his critics,... he has (instead) taken those snippets from his interviews which are most supportive of the point he wants to make. He then introduces those snippets with his own spin and concludes each chapter with more of his spin, all designed to prove his point and undercut his opponents position.

His best interview was with Hllary Clinton. She gave him the answers he deserved. let the spinners grind themselves into the ground, and people like you, me and the rest of the honest Americans travel on solid ground into the future! --This text refers to the Hardcover edition

Summary: Oreilly is back and madder than ever!
Review: Fine Book, very well written, very negative, but very true. Everything Oreilly says has some merit, though you don't have to agree with him all the time, you have to respect his ways of living in "no spin zone", and suprisingly enough, in this analysis of the American political scene, I found things that will help you live ahappier and fuller life. If you read the book cover to cover, you'll know what I mean.

Summary: Nothing New
Review: This book is nice reading for people who don't watch Bill's show. But otherwise, it's just a review of what he has already talked about. The comments about different entertainers and politicians at the back of the book really bored me. I'll stick to watching Bill on TV.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Nice follow-up to his first book
Review: This book pretty much covers the same topics addressed in his first book, but provides some comments from people who don't agree with O'Reilly's stance. It's a good book, but is a little short to justify the cover price.

Summary: Excellent book Mr. O!
Review: I do poor reviews when it comes to these things, I'm a better writer. I've been a fan of Mr. O'Reilly for about a year now and he continues to improve and teach lessons of personal responsibility throughout his program, and his two books. This book let the big boys have it, let us decide who was right and it made us live with the mistakes we may have made. I higly suggest giving this book to high school students who are impressionable as teaching them personal responsibility would do them good and O'Reilly's old morals and values aren't that far off the mark. ...

Summary: Enjoyable - but less than I expected.
Review: You've Got To Love Bill O'Reilly - he who reigns where Spin doesn't enter in. I love to watch the guy force people to focus on substance and leave the rhetoric for the fluff shows. This is exactly why I wanted to read this book - excerpts of interviews with interesting, some would say controversial, people across the political and idealogical spectrum.

The interview excerpts WERE interesting & made me wish I had seen the interviews as they aired. What was less than satisfying was how much of the book was the explanation leading up to a couple of pages of dialogue. Frankly, it left me wanting a bit more substance and a lot less fluff. Coming from a guy like Bill O'Reilly, a fluff book is even more disappointing and insulting - you know he would know the difference. Next time I sit down at his table, I hope he serves a little more meat....
