Summary: You'd Never Guess!!
Review: You'd never guess that this book would end the way it does. After reading the last sentence, all I could say was "damn". I read it in short order and I definitely enjoyed it. If you're one of the people who didn't particularly care for this novel, it might be because it didn't conclude in the manner you might have expected. Thus, my editoral "damn"!

Summary: You must be kidding!!
Review: I agree with some of the other reviewers that this book is highly disappointing, is transparent, easy to figure out, and gives us an ending that is simply a marketing ploy for the next book. Alex Cross whines and cries his way through more than 300 pages of poorly constructed action sequences, immature dialoque, and plain old boring scenes that we have seen over and over again.

What happens to these authors, like Deaver, Pearson, and Cornwell, who write such excellent books and then along the way lose their energy, creativity and desire to deliver a decent product to their loyal readers. This drivel should be a the end of any list. If you must, wait till you can get it at the used book store.

Summary: What happened ?
Review: I have to say that I was extremely disappointed at the end of this book. Far from being a surprise twist at the end, it felt more like Mr Patterson was struggling to meet a deadline and had run out of ideas for the bad guy. So, at the end of the book, nothing ties in, the motive isn't clear and its inconsistent with the other Alex Cross novels. Without tying up the loose ends in Rose are Red I wonder how a sequel would work, assuming the fans of the Alex Cross series don't give up after this one.

Up until the last chapter it was fairly decent, not his best work but good all the same. However the last chapter ruined the whole book and left the impression that it was poorly thought out and a very sloppy ending. Sorry !

Summary: I can't put it down.
Review: There are very few books that I have a hard time putting down, but James Patterson's books never fail. This latest foray into the life of Det. Alex Cross is one that kept me up reading late into the night and upset when I was finished too quickly. A great story and one that I enjoyed reading and figuring out. I can not wait for the next installment.

Summary: Certified Classic
Review: I have read all the Alex Cross Novels that Patterson has wrote and I must say that I am disappointed by alot of reviewers review of this book. I for one loved it. Though some of the critics feel it delved to deeply into cross' personal life I find it refreshing that the author took time to show that Alex isn't just a workaholic-cop who eventually end up eating his gun due to the fact he can't handle the stress of some of the stuff he see's on the job. We actually get to see the heart behind the hard and cool exterior that is Alex Cross. And as for the mastermind he will be a criminal that will go down in literary history similar to Morarty. Patterson takes us back to the Patterson that wrote Kiss the Girls, and Cat and Mouse which are my two favorite books in the series. And I am sure that the continuation/ending to this book will be a certified 5 star release from patterson.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I love Patterson's book and was so excited when this book hit the shelves. But I was so disappointed with it and bored. Hated the ending and hope that he'll do better by Alex Cross in his next novel.

Summary: ROSES ARE RED AND BLOODY TOO!
Review: This new and fast-paced thriller of Alex Cross, Doctor and detective, is a cut above the last few books in my opinion. A string of bizzarre and brutal bank robberies sets Alex Cross and the FBI on a wild chase on a criminal mastermind who calls himself - well, the MASTERMIND of course! The robberies and murders are so strange and masterfully planned out that all the cops are baffled. A new and engaging character is introduced in this novel, and FBI agent named Betsey Cavilierre. Alex Cross and her work closely together - and I mean CLOSELY! They strike up a serious relationship since poor old Alex's other love interest goes south because of her previous kidnapping, causing her to get away from Alex, and also leaving him with their new son. The twist and turns you expect from this author is certainly there and I never found myself bored reading this fast moving book - and thats a plus! A very surprise ending is in here as is usually the case in the Alex Cross novels, and I dont think you will be dissappointed in this one. ENjoy the read peeps - peace out!

Summary: My First James Patterson book was a great experiance!!
Review: I saw a commercial of James Patterson advertising this book. A few days later I went out to the store and saw this book "roses Are Red". I picked it up just out of curiosity. I read the first chapter. Each chapter is only about 3 pages which is great. I hate having long chapters and having to stop in the middle. Well there was no stopping with this book. I baught it and braught it home and read it in 9 hours. It was intresting and suspensful there whole way thorugh. I deffenetly plan on reading more James Patterson/Alex Cros novels. This book was increduble and had a great ending. It's the kind of book you ahve ot read twice. When I finsihed reading it I said " I have to read this again."

Summary: Patterson on the rebound
Review: I was not wild about Patterson's last book and there were some big holes in this one as well, but over all a much better book and story.

The one thing that continues to bother me, is the fact that they used Morgan Freeman in the movie Kiss The Girls. Now every time the character Alex Cross gets in a romantic situation, I picture Morgan Freeman ( who is a great actor, but not someone I want to picture getting busy...if you know what I mean)

Anyhow, there is the usual gratuitus sex and tension, but if you are a fan, this book should be a big improvement over his last one.
