Summary: Read it in one sitting
Review: 4.5 hours and I finished this book. Another good Patterson read with Alex Cross as the supposed hero. I say supposed because he never actually catches the killer! Sampson and Alex work to solve the crime and repeatedly catch "the wrong guy". So frustrating, especially when the actual killer is revealed and confuses the story! I sincerely hope Alex finds true love in the next book, but this definitely wouldn't be the best of Patterson.

Summary: Suspense is what it's all about
Review: I have always enjoyed reading James Patterson's novels and this one is no exception. I read it in one day, I just couldn't put it down. It was full of suspense that I'm used to by this author. The ending was not at all what I had hoped though, it just makes me wonder how on earth he's going to top it with his next novel. I can't wait to read it.

Review: See storyline above.

Well, I have to disagree with a quite a few of the reviewers here and say that I found this to be a really enjoyable book. Fastpaced, suspenseful and very readable. I think that because the ending didn't satisfy most readers, their reviews were negative. I was surprised by the ending, which could have provided more closure, but I still enjoyed this book immensely. I look forward to the next Alex Cross novel.

If everyone had the same tastes in books, it would truly be a boring world.

Highly recommended.

Summary: Same Book Different Title
Review: Like many other reviews I have read on this book, I found it very disappointing, and I only read it because in the past James Patterson has written some fine stuff. The last two books he has written on Alex Cross is very similar to his earlier stories, Did he merely change the names of the people kidnapped and murdered. I think so. I have vowed never to read another JP book again. Vicki, Canberra, AUSTRALIA

Summary: Lack of imagination
Review: I am becoming very disappointed with Mr. Patterson. This book seems as though it was written just to satisfy the public and get a book out for the Christmas season. It was slow moving, a very simple, untangled plot which could be easily put down and while the ending is a surprise it is almost anticlimatic. When will we see the old James Patterson of Cat and Mouse and Kiss the Girls???? Please return or give up.

Summary: Really a great book but the suspense fades...
Review: Those of you who don't know yet, Roses are Red by James Patterson is going to have a sequel and thats why it seems like the ending isn't the best thing to look for. I found it to be a good book. Not the best book, but a really good one. Alex cross faces one of his greatest challenges yet. Someone who calls himself the Mastermind is going around robbing banks and killing the Managers and/or there families. I found it to be a good book but I also found that later things were becoming Predictable. Like you would know who was going to die. Its a good book but later it fades because the suspense fades.

Summary: you've got to be kidding....
Review: What a disappointment....I've faithfully read every James Patterson book and especially love the Alex Cross books...but this one was a real let down. Don't read the last page...it will spoil everything. I am still wondering...what will happen next????

Summary: It's Called Entertainment People
Review: I don't know about the rest of you but when I read a work of fiction I want to suspend belief! This was a great work of fiction. I read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I think only true James Patterson fans will appreciate this book all the way up to it's mind blowing ending!! I had to read it (the last chapter) three time just to be sure. To Mr. Patterson I say keep up the great work. To all the Patterson haters I say take a breath and "just chill".

Summary: Weak story, ridiculous ending
Review: Can't say much good about this novel, and that's a huge disappointment. I've read every other Alex Cross novel and had eagerly anticipated this latest book. What a let down.

The story was so weak that I was begging for a clean, quick resolution and was only rewarded with an ending so contrived and outrageously absurd that it left me angry and frustrated.

Obviously this was a precursor to the next volume in the series, but I can't say whether I will actually read that novel or not, since I know the direction it will undoubtedly take will follow the ridiculous plot-twist set up in the last chapter. What a waste of time.
