Summary: An Unpleasant Trip Into A Sick and Psychotic Mind
Review: I knew going into this book that I would be highly disturbed by
its content. It is certainly not one that I would recommend for
reading pleasure or inspiration. It is a horrible book about a
sick and psychotic serial killer. I find it devestating to know
there was someone who walked this earth as evil, vile, and disturbing as Pee Wee Gaskins. This book should be read by only
the hardcore true crime reader. For an inspirational and uplifting book, I would suggest reading Billy Hills and Dale Hudson's A Reason To Live: The True Story of One Woman's Love, Courage and Determination To Survive. This is the kind of story you will read and be satisfied that justice pervailed and that
the good guys won in the end.

Summary: incredible insight into a serial killers mind
Review: I remained in an intense mind set as I read about PeeWee Gaskins. Once I began reading I did not put the book down until I had finished! The author was able to unleash incredible insight about a killer and our judicial system. South Carolina is home for me, but I highly recommend this book for anyone!

Summary: Enter Evil
Review: I was recommended this book by a friend of mine who came across it in his research for a criminal justice degree. He had read dozens of such books, and reguarded this as the most vivid account of human brutality in print. I must say I agree. There are certainly other accounts of such evil, but most are from the perspective of on lookers. The Final Truth, however, offers the reader the self-portrait of a socio-path; why he does what he does, that evil exists in this world. Many of the accounts Gaskins are unverifiable. However, some of the previously unknown grave sites have been located from Gaskins descriptions. Do not read this if you are squimish or easily offended. The rapes, murders, and torchures are accounted in vivid detail, and this book will change you perception of the world. Perhaps the most telling thing about this book is how the average reader cannot seem to put it down
(I read it in a night). What does that say about us?

Summary: Final truth
Review: I was recommended this book by a friend who lives in SC and I must say it is excellent. I thought the idea of having Gaskins himself as narrator was excellent. I'd recommend this book to anyone who can stomach it!

Summary: An book that will stay with you always
Review: In 1994 My husband I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach. We both are avid readers and enjoy searching 2nd hand book stores. I found this book and read it in 2 days. I passed it along to my husband and by the end of our vacation everyone in our vacation party had read the book. The book fell apart and We have searched for it ever since. We were amazed and delighted we found it again. We on occassion still discuss the book even though it has been 6 years since we read it. I shall never forget this man, his crimes, the horrible and unthinkable acts he carried out on his poor victims. A lesson to my sheltered family that sick people are in this world and this is a true example of evil or psychatric illness at its worst.

Summary: The best criminal autobiography ever?
Review: In a field dominated by both sensationalism and overblown self-righteous morality, this book stands out as a well written and engrossing story of the development and creation of a serial-killer 'Pee-Wee' and his text are wisely left alone to voice clearly, slang accent and all, the feelings of a man who in his own words surpasses morality in pursuit of personal pleasure. The obvious relish with which he recalls his crimes may sicken and disgust many, but rather than a gloating monster, Gaskins comes across as an ordinary human being, warts and all, with an extraordinary outlook and lifestyle. A must for the true-crime collector, I cannot recommend this highly enough. Buy, accept, reflect.

Summary: He is only one of hundres of killers that are out there.
Review: It is a scary thought that he is only one of hundreds of killers that are out there. He is not a saint by far and to think there have been worse than him. I can say that this book brings in a cold reality of what is going on in a serial killer's mind. PeeWee is brutally honest in this book. This book is not for the weak stomach person. PeeWee was a sick man.
