Rating: Summary: He is only one of hundres of killers that are out there. Review: It is a scary thought that he is only one of hundreds of killers that are out there. He is not a saint by far and to think there have been worse than him. I can say that this book brings in a cold reality of what is going on in a serial killer's mind. PeeWee is brutally honest in this book. This book is not for the weak stomach person. PeeWee was a sick man.
Rating: Summary: Dark and disturbing Review: Killers like Gaskins presents an excellent argument in favor of the death penalty. In his mind, every sick and cruel act he did was right and justified, including the torturous rape and murder of a 2 year old baby girl and her mother, and the murder of his own flesh and blood niece, Janice. He basically murdered whenever it fancied his tastes, and that wasn't enough. He had to torture with cuts, acid burns, plumber's lead. Many people will feel safer now that he is dead.
Rating: Summary: It is frieghting that their are people like this in the wlrd Review: My Dad was raised in this area of SC. I used to play at My Grandmothers house which was beside a major highway. It is kind of freaky that he was on the loose While I was a child. I was suprised that he was worse then we all thought. Read this book So that you will be aware that anybody could be a killer and also to realize they don't care about anything.
Rating: Summary: without mercy and without remorse Review: PeeWee Gaskins may have developed into a serial killer as a result of his childhood experiences but the reader is left facing the adult and that adult's relentlessly cruel actions. If you need to face the fact that "evil" exists in the world in an undiluted form, read this book, & wake up. Facing reality is one way of protecting yourself.
Rating: Summary: A Tribute To Pee Wee Gaskins Review: The book Final Truth was very intresting. Since i live in the area of which thies murders took place, i could picture where exactly he was at when he was describing his life. I realize how Donald had such a past. He grew up wrong. He was a good man, im sure. i was too young to know all about his murders, but he is a very intresting person. The way he did the things he did. I know it would be bad to say, but still after all, i respect him. If i was ever to be murdered, my murderer i would want to be pee wee. I feel like he is a famous rock star or something and im a huge fan. but hey, there are sick people in this world. If you have anything to mention to me. e-mail me anytime darkness328@aol.com This goes out to Donald Henry"Pee Wee" Gaskins jr. We shal meet some day
Rating: Summary: Final Truth Review: The first time I read this book it was the paper back, I couldent put this book down,I just read the Final Truth for the second time and this time it was the Hard cover, Even though I read it before I still couldent put it down, the way PEE WEE decribed each murder and not leaving anything to the imagionation,Wilton Earl did a great job on keeping the story real to PEE WEE and keeping the slang true to the way PEE WEE spoke. GREAT BOOK !! To bad they dont have more books like this one.
Rating: Summary: Want to know how a serial killer think? Review: Then read this book ( don't read it if you cannot handle extremely graphic details of torture and death ). All females should read this book, or at least as much as you can stand. I'll bet you'll never hitch-hike again and if you do...I am sure there are numerous "Pee Wees" cruising the highways who will be MORE than happy to give you a lift.
Rating: Summary: Classic-in either Genre Review: There is no doubt that autobiography is always a seriously flawed document of a time or event, or even a person. Yet here we have a man who makes his stamp on the world, by pure force of will and lethal cunning. A man whom we must take notice of for the insight into such a mind. And who can make events come alive with a 'down-home' attitude and manner. My vote as the best telling ever of a killers crimes. No author ego-trips disguised as detection, or gloating disguised as investigation. Just a purity of intent as hard yet beautiful as a diamond. Destined to be both bible and classic, this is one book you can't put down. And one man whose 'becoming' from helplesness to strength can help empower anyone. Buy it. You will never think the same way again.
Rating: Summary: Maybe I'm a sicko, but I found this book dull Review: This book is a disturbing look into the mind of a serial killer, unfortunately Gaskins is not a very verbose killer. There are times when his actions are truly sickening and shocking, but most of his killings are by the numbers. "I shot that guy. I tortured that girl. I kill X, Y, and Z. Etc." Maybe I'm a sicko, but I was expecting more details - I want to be terrified, but I was just bored. This book is really for true crime aficianados, the casual reader will not find it worthwhile.
Rating: Summary: The book tells of one man's hidious acts upon his victims. Review: This book portrays one man's beginning into the life of darkness. The hunger he feels, grows with each victim. The only way to satisfy this hunger is to commit the most hidious criminal acts, on his victims, while their still alive. The book's explicite detail of the criminal acts, are as if you are there watching and feeling their pain. I recommend this book to all homicide investigators and psychologist.
