Rating: Summary: Skeptical Review: After reading a number of such books, my question remains the same. How is it that a person who found so much to do in life has nothing better to do in the afterlife than to play meddlesome mom to those of us who are still here?!
Rating: Summary: amazing and helpful Review: After reading many books on the subject of after-life experiences, I feel that this book stands out not only because it was relayed by a famous person, but that the information that Diana gives answers so many questions that I feel so many of us have regarding the everyday lives we lead and the consequences of our actions both in this world and the next. It is an extremely comforting book dispelling many of the fears that we have of the afterlife and giving hope to everyone regardless of race, religion, gender, age, etc. The book is a very easy read told first hand with humor and compassion.
Rating: Summary: In Her Own Words:The After-Death Journal of Princess Diana Review: As a metaphysician and a psychic communicator and counselor, I was, at first, skeptical when I was given a copy of this book. However, my skepticism dissolved almost immediately as I began to read the Introduction. Ms. Toomey is no smoke and mirrors psychic. She is much like you or I.....and was as surprised as we would be if Princess Diana appeared to us in our kitchens! Ms. Toomey was the skeptic, and as a result, has given us a book which is true to its every word. It is not only an interesting profile of a dynamic, compassionate, and troubled princess (at Diana's own admission); but also a book filled to overflowing with beautifully descriptive and understandable explanations of what happens to us when we die. As Diana explains, we simply discard our physical bodies and transition into places of beauty and knowledge where we learn about our recent incarnation, and begin to plan for our future ones. I felt as I read this intimate and loving journal that I was experiencing Diana through her own words...and I am convinced that, indeed, I was. It is a beautifully descriptive, lovingly written book filled with insights, compassion, and an intense desire to continue making the world a better place for all. It is apparent that Ms. Toomey is a gifted psychic and writer, and one who searches for the truth. This book not only reminds the reader of the remarkable Diana, but causes one to realize the courage it must have taken to channel this material and release it to the public. This book is not simply the story of Diana, it teaches us valuable lessons we should use each day. It is beautiful and insightful on many levels, and I am grateful to Ms. Toomey for her efforts in bringing this book to us.
Rating: Summary: Impossible - NO Review: For those who loved Diana and for those who are into studying what life after death is about....you need to read this!
Rating: Summary: Remarkable! Review: Having read many Diana books (concerning her after life)Christine Toomey captures exactly what the others have said. I have read "Diana Speaks by Chairman Yao" in the United States where Diana hints that she will contact others...telling us, her words will continue to come through to us. "In Her Own Words by Christine Toomey" in the United States was obviously the continuation. Also, "Divine Intervention by Hazel Courtney" in England, a woman who writes she was not Diana's friend, but an acquaintance of Diana and she too channels Diana's thoughts. In Sweden, "Rita Eide" a known channeller writes her book entitled "The Celestial Voice of Diana." Eide never knew Diana personally, but her book is sent to someone that did know Diana. This person finds Eide's book incredible and based on truths. All of these books follow a pattern of matching each other on several issues of Diana's life making them seem more creditable reading. Personally, I feel these books are interesting to read. In these books I have learned what Diana felt about "fortune tellers" and how she understands, they are helpful to a point, but the readers only see so much. Again, their perception, just as these channellers are picking up what they perceive with Diana coming through to them. Some of the issues will follow a pattern and read the same in some respects in each book. It is REMARKABLE to me that four different writers from four different areas of our world touch on many of the "same" issues of Diana's life about The Princess's feelings and concerns. It is obvious to me, The People's Princess continues to have something worth sharing with all of us.
Rating: Summary: It's enlightening, captivating and inspirational. Review: I am still reading Christine Toomey's Book "In Her Own Words: The After-death Journal of Princess Diana". I am reading it slowly because I want to absorb every precious word. I can actually feel Diana's Spirit talking to me as I am reading. Diana was a really beautiful, loving person and it really comes through in this Book. I truly believe that it is Diana talking through Christine because of her great love of humanity.I cannot see how anyone could read this Book and not enjoy it. It certainly can and will bring out the goodness in people. That is what this Book is intended to do. I hope there are a lot of others who will agree with me. Since I am mourning the loss of my Dad, I am truly inspired by Christine Toomey's writing and talent. Thanks again Christine. God Bless you and your lucky family! Yours truly, Laura Hayes
Rating: Summary: This book answered so many after life questions for me. Review: I can honestly say this was one of the most enlightening books I have ever read. I felt as if Diana was there with me as I was reading. Christine has such a wonderful gift of communicating with the spirit world and I am so grateful for her sharing this story with us. The book has something for everyone, advice for living our lives to the fullest and what to expect in the afterlife. This story would even turn a skeptic into a believer! If you are having questions about problems in this lifetime, about the after life or reincarnation, Diana explains all of this in such vivid detail. I am so glad I read this book!
Rating: Summary: FASCINATING Review: I found this book absolutely fascinating. I must admit, I was skeptical when I first started reading it, but I soon found it fascinating. It was certainly different from all the other Diana books I had read - and I have read many. It was totally believable and very enlightening.
Rating: Summary: This is a lyrically beautiful, unending portrait of Diana. Review: I have never read any book as beautifully written as this one. The wording is often breathtaking...seemingly not of this world. Initially this is what magically drew me in. But as I continued reading, I found that I did not want to put it down and leave the wonderous places that it conjures up. (Or awakens us to!) Christine Toomey has certainly captured the very unique and special essence of "our Diana", which I call her with great affection, remembering how she only desired to be the "People's Princess". It seems that at long last she knows beyond any shadow of a doubt that she indeed realized that wish. This is not just a "fairy tale", however. Diana revisits all aspects of her life here on earth-the good, the bad, and the ugly. And now, we are privy to her eternal insight and complete understanding of why she had to live some of the things she did. With amazing clarity, she points out the purposes in what were often deemed her "problems" and her "mistakes". And she does so in such a way that we can easily apply many of the lessons she learned to our own lives. I treasure this book because of the spirit of Diana that it so aptly captures. And whenever I miss her or start to feel that MY life isn't going "right", I will open it and read it-again and again-to remind myself that there truly is a purpose to everything under heaven. Sculpting a work of art from words is never an easy thing. But this book manages that, and very nicely. It captures AND PRESERVES Diana's beauty, style, elegance, and yes-her human pain-while at the same time comforting us, and even bringing us peace, understanding, and hope in the fact that life and love are eternal.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I have read many books about the afterlife and almost every book ever written about Princess Diana. Unfortunately, this author hasn't read any. Her "glimpses" of the afterlife don't ring true and her description of Princess Diana's personality is equally off base. I was disappointed because I thought this would be a book I'd love. Instead it just made me cringe. Read it if you like but please search Amazon for other books on the afterlife and other books on Princess Diana. Don't fall for this foolishness. You can do so much better.
