Summary: The Title Of My Review
Review: As Harry's walking home, to privet drive, from the park, two dementors atack him and his piggish cousin. Using his magic, he summons a patronous to get rid of the dementors. Doing so, Harry has broken laws of the Ministry of Magic and must go to a trail. Harry is found innoccent and is taken to his godfather's, Sirius Black, house and learns about The Order Of The Phoenix.
As Harry goes through his worst year at Hogwarts, he finds out more and more about Voldamort, Snape, Dumbledore, Cho Chang, and many more characters that might have been a bit hazzy before.
Overall, this is probally the longest and best book I've read. This book is certainly not for people who dislike long, dark, somewhat morbid, or magical books.
1 Evil antagonist + A couple of henchmen + 1 good protagonist + A couple of sidekicks + a great story line =
Harry Poter And The Order Of The Phoenix

Summary: Amazing!!!
Review: Once again, Rowling provides her readers with another thrilling year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" is an emotionally intense tale, in which Harry finds himself in many more difficult situations now that Voldemort is back in full force.

The tone of this book is much more serious than those of the earlier books in the series. It is obvious that our hero is growing up quickly. Harry must face danger and loss, and more mundane experiences, such as relationship with his love interest, Cho Chang.

The book's final chapters are incredibly climactic...they will truly have readers on the edge of their seats. The death of an important character was cause for tears for me. Rowling has once again managed to draw in the reader and involve him/her in the story.

In sum, this book was simply outstanding, as could be expected from this wonderful author. I can't wait to read the next book!!!

Summary: Things get better with time, Rowling's novel is no exception
Review: What do you say when a book like this comes out?

After a wait of three years, many Harry Potter fans waited in line at midnight to obtain this eagerly anticipated novel, myself included.

They would not be disappointed.

The plot was darker, more intense, more emotional. Harry seems to have lost the pre-pubescent boy attitude; he has the raging hormones of a fifteen year old boy. JK Rowling's beloved character is growing up, as the majority of his fan base reaches their mid teens.

I found myself rereading passages, in hope that I might draw a carefully disguised clue out of the pages and paragraphs Ms. Rowling so lovingly toiled over.

Now, we begin the long wait until book six. We all hope that JK Rowling has much in store for us, hopefully an even darker, more intriguing novel. This shows that things do truly get better with time.

Her characters were beautifully developed, particularly Nymphadora Tonks. She has the loveable, but clumsy, round peg in a square hole, attitude about her.

So, Ms. Rowling:

We can only hope that you will finish Book Six soon!

Summary: The 'order' of things
Review: Oh I think I might be the first person to review this book. Any way.
Like The Goblet of Fire and.. actually like most of the books, a great deal of the beginning of the book is during summer vacation. Things become fishy when Harry and Dudley are attacked by dementors right there in Little Whinging. A bunch of stuff follows, involving a hearing and Harry having to live at the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, a group of witchs and wizards against Voldemort. Any more would be revealing the plot and I know that that was a horrible synopsis, but if a synopsis is what you want, then read the editorial reviews.
The book has the same quality that makes you not want to stop reading until you get to the very last page. And when you get there, its hard to tell if you were cheated or not. 850 pages and a lot less plot twists than Goblet of Fire. But even then, there are a lot of moments worth savoring. For example:
Ron is on the quidditch team?
What's up with Harry and Cho?
Who's the crazy new Defense against the Dark arts teacher?
I personally thought that the highlight of the book was The D.A., otherwise known as Dumbledore's Army. Formed as a 'screw you movement' against the tyrannical Professor Umbridge.
My main problem with this book and the series in general is the close mindedness it displays. The whole moral backdrop is gryffindor=too cool for school heroes. Dumbledore was one. Harry is one and he's cooler than you. Slytherin= Bad, incredibly weird looking people. Stupid, ugly followers of Voldemort. Harry=Hero Everyone else= bystander
Of course, it isn't all as cut and dried as that, but that's the gist of it. I find it hard to believe that death eaters (Voldemort's followers) are never from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. They are from Slytherin. Harry too, must always be the hero, a theme that is explored in the book. Knowing that even when Harry rages and pities himself in the beginning of the book, he will bounce back with the incentive of pretty, shiny heroicness.
And that is why I gave the book four stars instead of five. It shouldn't get five just for being Harry.

Summary: Simply incredible. It's pure magic
Review: Incredible Fact #1: I'm 35 and only began reading Harry Potter at the bedtime pleadings of my elder son [now 9] a mere 4 years ago. I'd never read for recreation since I was 16, having had that joy squashed by an all-too-Umbridge-like high school teacher - until that is, I picked up Sorcerer's Stone. Needless to say, I was hooked. And I am now an enthusiastic and unapologetic adult Harry Potter fan for the following Incredible reasons:

Incredible Fact #2: The kind of creativity and sheer story-telling genius that went into the first four books, resolves like a Seurat - a point here, a point there, and a thousand more everyplace else - into a wonderful and glorious piece of art stretched across an ever-expanding canvas. Rowling answers enough questions and resolves enough by the end of the book to satisfy our curiosity and thirst for the story, but leaves plenty open avenues to pave the way for Book 6. At the same time, the death of a significant character not withstanding, Rowling maintains a sense of order in the Wizarding world by making sure that some things never change - Fudge is still an incredibly self-delusional, irrational, moronic, manipulative weasel of a politician; Fred and George are still the greatest jokesters; McGonnagall is unflappable and the consummate professional and protector, Malfoy is still an evil, malicious little git, despite a major negative development in his own family; Crabbe and Goyle still speak in monosyllabic grunts and Hagrid is still trying to tame the most dangerous creatures known to wizarding kind at his own peril. Incredibly, OOTP is the best yet, and Rowling shows no signs of losing any of her magic;

Incredible Fact #3: I was standing in a bookstore awaiting midnight with my whole family [wife, sons (6 and 9)], and even now I couldn't tell you who was more excited to dive into a nearly 900-page book - which my wife and I both finished by 10:30pm Monday night;

Incredible Fact #4: My 9-year old stopped reading the other 3 books he was reading to focus on OOTP exclusively - he's on page 268 after 4 days;

Incredible Fact #5: Harry Potter proves magic is real and dreams do come true - for ex-poor author J.K. Rowling, every reading teacher in the world, and book publishers who in recent years have seen their sales dwindle as the masses turned their favor towards TV, movies and video games. Right here in the Muggle world, Harry Potter single-handedly saves a woman and a family, while breathing new life into educator's desires for their students to read, as well as reviving a dwindling publishing industry;

Incredible Fact #6: While Rowling's books keep getting bigger by leaps and bounds, I could've read a 1,000-page OOTP. I am now looking at the original Sorcerer's Stone, resolving to read the whole series again and thinking "man this is a tiny book;"

Incredible Fact #7: OOTP [a book] outsells the Incredible Hulk [a movie] on its opening weekend, which amazingly was also the top-grossing June-release movie;

Incredible Fact #8: I will be counting the days until I am standing with my whole family at midnight once again, waiting for the release of ... does anyone know what it's going to be called? ... pining for the continuing episodes of Harry, Ron, Hermione and everyone else - minus one... :'(

Summary: the best so far (but so was every other)
Review: This is the best Harry Potter book so far to me.Of course thats what i said about every other Harry Potter book i read as i went along.I just got the book the 21st but i finished reading as soon as possible..4 days!This book is great, thats why i gave it 5 stars of course.Theres not alot of character development but thats a good thing becuase you obviously already have read the first 4 if you're reading this one.At first he starts at the Dursleys as Harry does in every book,but the action does come infact in the human (muggle) world. There's tons of action in this one and Voldemort has actually come back to full power so you can expect a great ending battle. Lots of mystery in this one,you find out all about it in the end though...not to mention a LOT more about the past.I won't say anything here but its revealed why Voldemort wanted to kill Harry in the first place and thats definetly something you want to hear!Also a not-so-major-but-pretty-main character dies in this book.I was actually almost going to cry.Its a big shock trust me.
Harry has grownup alot in this book,he acts alot older and there's even some romance for him.Plus lots of the funny things happening.I recomend this book to anyone who has read the other 4 becuase if you havent this book will be very confusing.
So get ready for a book even longer than the 4th one (yes its actually longer!) 870 somthing pages!

Summary: Just okay, same formula as all the other books
Review: I hate to say it, but Harry's getting stale. I bought this book and sat down and read the entire thing expecting something wonderful. Instead I think J.K. Rowling is re-using her previous books as templates for this one. Here's a summary of the book:

1) Harry comes to Hogwarts after some problems.

2) Harry and his buds are having big problems with class.

3) There's a great danger that must be dealt with after 700 pages of reading about more things going wrong at Hogwarts.

4) 150 pages dedicated towards the actual problem and dealing with it.

5) 1 page of actual worthwhile information that is told right at the very end.

I was disappointed with the "Death of a Major Character" everyone was yapping about. It wasn't a major character at all, so don't be surprised.

I think the author needs to change her formula for the next book as her books are becoming stale.

Now, onto some good things, her writing is decent even though the story is repetitive. I think she captures kids' emotions quite well unlike most authors.

Summary: The Best One Yet
Review: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book 5) is quite possibly the best installment in this series yet. Rowling had more time to write this one, and it certainly shows. That's saying something, given how excellent the previous book was. What I really liked best about the 5th book is its dealings with the Magic World's government and how the government is not always as reliable as it may seem. Lots of characters and things from previous books that seemed so reliable are suddenly unreliable in this book. Plus, Harry, Ron, Hermione and their friends are all finally looking forward to their futures--a true sign of their growing up.

Filled with surprises (some good, some painful), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a wonderful read. I'm already waiting for the next installment!

Summary: Another Excellent Adventure
Review: I liked this book much better than the last one. It was an on-the-edge-of-your seat story that gave me more depth of understanding for the less prominent characters like Neville Longbottom and Professor Snape. I enjoyed it, though I felt in some parts that it was clearly written to end up as a movie. I would reccommend this book to anyone.
