Summary: A Great Addition
Review: The newest addition to the already acclaimed Harry Potter series is a must read. Though the plot can, at times, become just a bit slow and predictable, it winds down into a frenzy of action-packed chapters that are a thrill to read and reveal answers to some of the questions that readers may have. In the fifth book, we see Harry maturing and discovoring that the world is not always perfect, and that gives it even more of a sense of reality. Any fans of Harry Potter, or even the fantasy genre in general, should not miss out on this greatly anticipated (for good reason!) book.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: After waiting sooo long for the next installmant of Harry Potter, it was a real disappointment. It was cool that we got to go back to Hogwarts to see all our friends, but the story didn't really advance any. At this point Harry is in exactly the same place he was in at the end of year four only minus one more important person in his life. Nothing in book five resolved any part of the story line. It is as if book four was an 800 page cliff hanger and book five is a 900 page set up for book six.

Summary: It keeps getting better!!
Review: Rowling kept it coming. This book is certainly the best Potter book yet. There were many aspects of it that I enjoyed thoroughly and this book was more suspenseful than previous ones. i think Umbridge will be the most hated character in children literature ever! she was just so darn horrible. a lot of things happened in the end, and at least i felt satisfied and will be waiting patiently for the next one.
if you're a potter fan, you will not be disappointed!

Summary: Yet another great Harry Potter Book
Review: Dang. Another good book. Some parts of it were extremely funny. The Weasley Twins have finally managed to make themselves Hogwarts legends. (Read the book to find out how.) The battle lines have been drawn. The sides have been chosen. And someone has died. (not telling who.)

The story goes as this. No one believes Harry or Dumbledore that He Who Shall Not Be Named is back. To be more presise they are making them out to be fools. To make matters worse there is a new teacher who makes Snape look like Mary Poppins. Add to that Ron Weasley is the new Keeper and he is awful, and then there is always puberty. Makes for a whole lotta fun.

Funny parts. Scary parts. Sad parts. And dag nammit the characters are coming into thier own. (Really like Hermoine in this book)

Ok when's the next book coming out? Wanna see what happens next.

Summary: Book Five is an in-betweener
Review: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the long-awaited fifth book in the series that has swept the nation, actually making children pick up books and read.

My feeling, however, is that several younger readers of Harry's adventures may lose interest after this book, and likewise, several older people may find themselves with an interest. In this fifth book, the world of Harry Potter has transformed from the magical and fantastical place that younger readers might wish to escape to, to a darker world where uncertainty lurks behind every corner and Harry and his companions may never be entirely sure whom to trust. In short, the world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter is no more a fantasy world. The evils that are present, the struggles that occur, in this book are perfect metaphors for struggles and evils we face in our world.

In this novel J.K. Rowling has created something new and different-and possibly even scary. She has created a character whom will grow, change, and perhaps not always be likeable to the reader. I saw Harry Potter emerging into something in this book-emerging into adulthood perhaps, and I can sense (as a fellow writer myself) the struggles Rowling herself must have had in releasing Harry from his innocence, and having him truly suffer in the aftermath of the events of book four.

Terrible things have happened to Harry in the past, but this time it is as if I had been dragged down with him, and in that sense the book was difficult for me to read. It was hard for me at times to find sympathy for Harry because of his behavior. At times he seemed so disconnected, and certain huge plot changes, such as the death of a major character, don't seem to have quite as huge of an impact as they should have been. I can sense certain points in the book where Rowling must have been struggling to piece together the plot, and get from Point A to Point B, in a matter of speaking.

Overall, this book didn't impact me as much as the third and fourth ones did. I suppose it's easier to look at book five as a stepping stone into what will hopefully be more fulfilling books six and seven.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Review: These books just get better and better! As far as I'm concerned, Ms. Rowling is a genius. I continue to be impressed with the calibre of the writing. There is not a word that is unimportant. This series is beautifully constructed. I know that the next and final books will be just as good, if not better. So, far this is definitely my favourite in the series. The characters are so well formed that I sometimes forget that they are simply characters. Snape's story is finally brought to light (which I have been waiting for since 'Prisoner of Azkaban.') The tale becomes darker and the work of the Hogwarts' students more important. This is a brilliant piece of literature; it continues the classic tale of good versus evil with that magic that Ms. Rowling weaves so well.

Summary: As expected, wonderful.
Review: I just finished this book less than an hour ago and I already pine for the next installment in the series. I can never get enough of J.K. Rowling's elaborate world or rounded characters. I hate reviews that give to much away, but I feel it is necessary to give warning that this book is a little darker. If you've never read any Harry Potter before, pick them up and read them all. If you are a Potter fan and reading this review, deciding whether or not to click "Add to Shopping Cart," what's the hold up? ...The book answers some questions that have been taunting readers since the beginning, but poses new ones to keep readers engaged. Rowling has a great handle on the natural progression of her protagonist (as well as others) as he matures. ...I have never written an on line review before, despite my previous enjoyment of Rowling's novels. But I would like to take this little bit of internet space to say thank you to her, for allowing all of us to remember what it was like to be a child and to feel enchanted again.

Summary: Long book, but well worth your time! A definite MUST-Buy!
Review: When I first bought the new Harry Potter book, I was all excited. I had been waiting for about three years for it, and I just wanted to get home from the bookstore and read it. I started reading in the car, and from the start, I couldn't put the book down without wishing that I could just keep reading. When I finally got home, I spent a good two hours reading the book. I loved the book from the beginning, but I couldn't imagine how I would ever be able to finish it! The book was just so stinking long! Well the book took a lot less time to read than I expected it to take! Instead of taking a week or two to finish, I read the book in less than a week! I LOVED it! Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is my favorite of the Harry Potter books. Why is this? You will soon find out!

First of all I loved the book because it was not boring and drawn out. I was fearing that I would have times when I got bored and put the book down. In all of the other Harry Potter books, I found that there were certain places where I got bored and wished that the book moved along with a faster pace. I experienced none of these "difficulties" with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Example: I figured that the beginning of the book would be slow-moving, but I found that the beginning was one of the most exciting parts! The fight scene between Harry and the dementors was extremely well done!

Secondly I loved the book because of all the humor that was cleverly inserted. Example: "Weasley Is Our King". I laughed so hard when I read the lyrics to Malfoy's song about Ron Weasley that my little brother asked me what was so funny. He then asked me to read the "funny part" out loud to him (may I add that he fell on the floor, laughing).

Thirdly (and finally!) I loved the book because it was so unique and surprising. I was SHOCKED when Dumbledore dueled the Minister of Magic! I can't tell you too many of the surprises that you will find because i don't want to ruin the whole element of surprise for you. But I will tell you that you will be SHOCKED with some of the changes that happen throughout the book at Hogwarts.

I really hope that you will not only find my review to be helpful when you are deciding whether or not to buy the new Harry Potter Book, but that you will also buy Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Summary: Lived up to all of my expectations!
Review: I have been waiting for this book ever since 2000 and I found that it lived up to all of my expectations. I found this book very exciting and quite funny in some places. This was the most suspenseful of all of the Harry Potter books and Harry seemed to be more human then ever. Parts of the book are very sad and almost devestating to a fan who has grown attached to certain characters, but overall an excellent addition to the series by Ms. Rowling.

Summary: Lady Reoa's Review
Review: I just finished this book today and man is it good. I think it is the best one yet. It took me four days to read it but it was worth it. There are a lot of things going on during this book and it seems as if everyone is stacked against Harry. The Ministry of Magic and the Daily Prophet are calling him a lier and denies that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has truly retured. A new teacher who soon makes life even worse after being appointed by the Ministry doesn't seem to help matters much. She is what you could call a living nightmare. Soon after she becomes a teacher she is then made the High Inquisitor, which can only mean more trouble. Passing new school rules left and right and completely abusing her job she can fire any teacher at will and can even keep students from reading a simple magazine which isn't even half of the other things she can do. She's not the only problem either. Now that Lord Voldemort is back the Wizarding world is in great peril. It also seems that the Dark Lord is in search of a weapon that could give him all the power he needs to succeed. But how is the wizarding world suppose to protect themselves when they don't believe he's back! To add to the problems Harry keeps having dreams about a secret room. What is beyond the door and why is it so important? To add to the trouble the fifth years O.W.L.s are coming up giving Harry and his friends even more work than usual. There is also the curious "Order of the Phoenix" lurking in the shadows. Could this be the salvation our hero has been looking for and if so what other peril awaits him in this exciting story? You'll have to read and find out!
