Summary: A fantastic book
Review: I found this book to be the best one in the Murry/O'Keefe series. It is also my favourite book by my favourite auther. I don't exactly know why, but it was good enough for me to read over 3 or 4 times in a row before I returned it to the library. It's based on Noah's Ark (the bible story) and has a lot of facts, but is not resricted to them. This book is based on Sandy and Dennys rather than Meg and Charles Wallace who are usually the main characters. Many Waters is the forth book in the Wrinkle in Time series. So if you liked that, you should defanitly read this.

Summary: An Amazing Fantasy Book
Review: This is an amazing book. I loved it. I would recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy. It is a sequel to A Wrinkle in Time. This book is about Sandy and Dennys Murry. They "think" they are the ordinary people in the Murry family and compared to the rest of the family, they are. One day when they came home from school they went into their mother and father's lab to get the hot cocoa. Their father had a new experiment in the lab and they started to press buttons and make wishes. After they left the lab they saw the "Do Not Enter, Experiment in Progress" sign on the door, but they were too late. They are transported to a time and place that they do not know. If you read it you can find out where and when they were transported to. They meet some terrible and some lovely people. They have many new friends that they don't want to leave, but unfortunately have to. This book has everything a book should have. Fantasy, mystery, horror, suspense, romance, and history. This is a book for everyone.

Summary: Science fiction is not really my thing...
Review: I read this book for the first time in fifth grade and I loved it. I've reread it since and I still love it. I disagree that it is for mature readers; it can be for any age.

I had read "A Wrinkle in Time" and several of L'Engle's other books, but I liked "Many Waters" best of all, because it is less "science fiction-y" than her other books. There's no physics or quadratics or outer space in this book; instead it focuses on the story and the characters.

L'Engle's voice in the book is as wonderful as in her other books. I wasn't expecting to enjoy a book about the twins so much, but instead I did like their voices and personalities. There are quite a few characters, but they are intriguing and relatable. The names aren't hard to keep track of.

The mix of mythology and Biblical stories does work. I did like the religious overtone, and the concepts of seraphim, nephilim, and unicorns were fascinating. I especially liked the miniature mammoths, and the fact that L'Engle made people smaller because of the tiny knight armor she had seen in a museum. L'Engle manages to mix it all together.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book.

Summary: Very, very good.but not for young readers
Review: Now matter how many times I read it, this book never disappoints. It's fascinating story recreates a biblical world that time forgot. Rather than sticking to the typical genesis story, L'engle leaves you with plenty of food for thought. However, don't pick up this book expecting it to be just like her Meg stories. Written in a style more akin to her adult novels or those about the Austins, this book has a more serious undertone. While slower paced, it is full of detail and introspection not found in the others. To me, this book is a delight to read no matter what age you are and is as good at almost 20 as at almost 15. Recently, my mother finally relunctantly picked it up at my suggestion and it's now one of her favorite books.

Summary: Exciting, but...er...mature matter
Review: I read the first three books in this quartet and I really liked them so I decided to read many waters. I was in grade 5 at the time and unlike the other three books it had a mature theme to it it really grossed me out when I was in grade 5. I don't think this book should be considered a childrens novel and it doesn't belong with the other books in the quartet.

Summary: Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover.
