Summary: One of the best books ever!!!
Review: First I read the Circle of Magic seris, and I loved it!!! I'm an avid reader, and i've read tons of books. Then I came across the Song of the lioness seris. After I read Alanna: The first Adventure I was hooked. In the second book in the quartet, In the hand of the Goddess Alanna faces challenges that will change her life forever. She goes into battle, she receives gifts and visits from the Goddess. She and Jon have a romantic relationship. The evil Duke Roger of Conte is plotting to kill, and only one person can stop him, Alanna. When it comes down to Alanna, Roger, swords, and magic one of them dies, but not for long. (lioness Rampant). Alanna reviels her true self in this book, but not the way she wanted. When you're done with this seris, you should read the Immortals seris by Tamora Pierce. Then the Circle of Magic seris, and The Circle opens seris all by Tamora Pierce. I would like to thank Tamora Pierce. She is the best writer ever, and reading her books is like reading no other books. She brought great joy to me. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.

Summary: Alanna's adventures continue
Review: Alanna has been training to become a knight for a few years now. She's now become Prince Jonathan's squire and a well trained fighter. But she has many challenges to face in this book, as a knight in training and much more. There are many things Alanna is wary about in the beginning of this book, her upcoming ordeal when she's 18, having everyone find out about her being a girl, and the mysterious Duke Roger. During this book Alanna faces many challenges, including her first war, her first love, her ordeal into knighthood, and a meeting with the goddess herself. Alanna's loyalties will be tested and in the end she will half to face her greatest enemy. Will she survive being a squire? Or has all this work been for nothing...

In my opinion this is the best book so far in the series. It's filled with action, adventure, friendship, mystery and maybe a bit of romance. ...For one thing this book is in the young adult section (although mostly because of it's violence) and also it's more implied than anything. ...Tamora Pierce manages to skillfully steer away from actually saying it but getting the actual subject out quite clearly. Besides this book is filled with a good plot line and great character development, which is really the great thing about books. If you're a fan of the last book, read this. You'll love it.

Review: this bk is most definitely ms pierces best. with jonathan knowing about alanna, she feels as though she has an ally in the palace. and it's really sweet to watch their growing affection for each other. but then again, we musn't forget george, whose feelings for alanna become more and more apparent as the book proceeds. and then there's duke roger - alanna knows he's bad, but how can she prove this to the people who adore him so much around her??? and then, of course, there's the ordeal. this bk is great!! hint* do not read the immortals or protector of the small books first.

Summary: Really good, but make sure u know...about certain things
Review: This book was great....adventure, romance, magic, everything! But, Alanna finds out about her period in the first book and...does other stuff in the others. So if u already know about...the stuff mentioned in this book, and are a young adult/young teen, then read it...so just KNOW about that stuff or you'll be completely....traumatized for awhile...not for life.....

Summary: What are you people talking about?
Review: Okay, this book is sooooo under-rated!

Don't let the other reviews scare you off! This is the greatest book (next to Lioness Rampant) that TP has ever written! I LOVED IT! I didn't put it down once! I was sooo excited that romance FINALLY happened between Alanna and Jon. I don't know what the other peoples are talking about! She didn't jump into bed with him right away! Okay, they were in love for, like, MONTHS before they... you know. It may not be AS action-packed as some of her other books, but Alanna DOES have to have a personallity, here! this is one of the best books I've ever read! It's worth every penny! Those other reviewers don't know what they're talking about.

Summary: Alanna is great!
Review: After reading the frist book I could not wait to read the read the next one. I have been getting the books from the public library, I had been waiting a while to get it and I though I was going to pull my hair out waiting. I read it in two days because I was so hooked on it. I do think that Tamora Pierce could have left out the romance but it does show that Alanna does have a loving side. If you enjoyed the first book I do encourage you to read this but if you haven't read the first one I do suggest to start with the first one because it can become slightly confusing.

Summary: In The Hands Of The Goddess...
Review: is by far the best in the Alanna series. I read it in about 2 days, which is fast for me, it's a real page turner. The one complaint I have is the whole Alanna and Jonathon thing. I mean you don't sleep with a guy just three minutes after realizing you might like him! And I really don't believe in premarital sex so I didn't like that Ms Pierce would even suggest that! But besides that... I LOVED IT!!!
It (unlike the 1st book) has a real plot, not a bunch of lil plots squished together in one book. It's mainly about Alanna growing up and falling in "love" (awwwwww... (jk)). And she hasta tell everyone about her being a girl and stuff... But I don't wanna give too much info away so I'll just say buy it, read it, you'll love it.

Summary: It was fine, not great, I expected better
Review: I had been dying to read this book since I read Alanna, the first adventure. When I got it I found it more than a little disappointing. Alanna seemed to have had a major personality transplant.
What happened to her anti-guy attitude? I mean I expected her to grow out of it but it would have been nice if she could have done it slowly. Instead she took this major age jump from 12 to 15.
The plot was predictible and I wouldn't have finished it if I hadn't grown to care about the characters.

Summary: loved the story ,not sure is fit for young girls....
Review: I'm a grown up and by mistake bought one Tamora Pierce for my 8 yrs boy seeking for something after Harry Potter, I got hooked on Alana and her life story. Obviously boys would not enjoy this kind of books as a teen girl (or a fantasy loving mother) will sure do, in fact I got the whole Lioness series and the Immortals (but for myself). I do not advise it for girls to read it on their own or at least if their parents haven't had a sincere talk about the difference between love an sex, I know if I have got it when I was 12 I would have acquired a very twisted idea of how teenagers engage in sex and a girl reasons to let it happen. Since the book is really entertaining and the author didn't bother to leave a moral lesson, it will be up to the parents to clear things out, the issues are not very descriptive but the idea of going to bed with the prince just minutes after she realizes she is in love with him as well as his rush into it does not seems to be a good role model ( not that it doesn't happens but if I had a daughter and I know you cant prevent them from engaging into sex sooner or latter, I'll like to think she will know exactly what she is going into and the consequences for her future relationships) Still the first book is the best of the lioness quartet (and fit for any age girls). So girls once you read and love the story, find an older sister or a parent to talk about the issue and do not follow Alana's example for this matter. Guys out there (in real life) are neither the prince (that proposes after all) nor (George that will love her forever no matter what). The things I liked are the fact that she does have male good friends that are just so and enjoys work and study with them as classmates, as well as the fact that she overcomes her fears and proves she's is both intelligent and strong, and that there are more important values than being beatifull (she just qualifies as it few times and only after much makeup and stuff) to live by such as honor and pursuing her life time objective.
