Rating: Summary: My Children Loved This Book! Review: I read this book to my children so many times, and they loved the inspiration, as well as learning about challenges, that CAN be overcome. The book has great illustrations, and is a great read, while it teaches valuable life lessons. Preparing our children to persevere, discover their dreams, and to keep going even if times get tough is what this book is all about. Highly recommended to help children learn that they CAN make their own dreams come true. An Inspiring and Enjoyable Read!
Rating: Summary: cute Review: This is a cute book. I also recommend the book called DR JONES AND CAROLYN by carolyn apel It is FUNNY and very educational, covering interesting topics!
Rating: Summary: Not bad if you don't look at it as a children's book... Review: Like dog owners that buy food for dogs that is more appealing from a human perspective, many of these reviewers liked this because it touches them from an adult perspective. Not only is this not that great for children, it's not even the good Dr.'s best work. If you don't believe me, buy it for you kid and see how they like it compared to other books. Not very engaging for kids...Try one fish, two fish instead.
Rating: Summary: Perfect High School or College Graduation Gift Review: Dr. Seuss isn't just for the pre-school set, but you probably already knew that. This book of brightly colored illustrations and whimsical rhymes makes the perfect gift for anyone setting out on a new adventure, so buy copies for every high school and college graduate on your list. As Seuss tells us "There is fun to be done!" and this joyous ode to personal fulfillment tells you how to meet up with it while combating fear, loneliness, and confusion. After all, what better advice could anyone give a new grad than to say "You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose." This is inspired good fun, sure to please everyone.
Rating: Summary: One of My Now Favorite Books! Review: I recieved this book from a special teacher as I graduated from high school. I had never read it, so I eagerly opened the cover to see what lied inside. I found it such an excellent and moving book about life that I thought Dr. Seuss wrote it specifically for me. The truth about life is there are always obstacles to overcome, but still "you will move mountains." His lively and comical words are just as indispensable as his wonderfully colored and creative illustrations. A truly magnificent book because it is about something we all have to go through:life. A great gift for people beginning new phases in thier life or a rewarding read just for yourself. Remember "Life is a Great Balancing Act" and you can succeed even if you fall into the Slump for awhile or visit the Waiting Place for quite some time. Soon again you will be off in your balloon and "Oh, the places you'll go!"
Rating: Summary: No too old to learn from it Review: I came across this book when I was in my late 20's. I think it puts things in perspective for adults when we become stressed and overwhelmed. I don't think I would have appreciated the book if I would have read it in my youth years.
Rating: Summary: Do I have to be honest? Review: It's not that great. Before purchasing this for my little one I read tons of positive, five star reviews, but I have a hard time ranking this with more than two. It's definitely cleverly written and cute, but not half as good as I expected, it can even be unsettling in certain parts, like when frightening places are mentioned. It is not that appealing and nothing like the Dr. Seuss books I remember growing up. I must also say that I find it over-priced, there aren't that many pages and the illustrations are pretty blah. Can I just say that I find it down right boring?
Rating: Summary: The Book Of Life Review: Im 14 and love this book. To me its the book of life, but in an easy to understand form. Colorful pictures and lucious rhymes make it avalible to any age. It exploains the ups and downs of life and the changes u go through in a way that makes it fun. i would recommend this book to anyone from the age of 0-100 easily. this proves u r never too old for dr. suuss
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This Book is also very good for kids. It helps them see different ways life will take them when there on there own. It's also good for someone taking a new path. This is a very good book.
Rating: Summary: Just Keeps Coming Back Up in Life Review: A wise parable that keeps coming true and shedding insight into different episodes of life. If more grown-ups would read books like this and reconnect with their innate creative self, we could really create a better world of possibilities! I also recommend: If I Ran the Circus -and- If I Ran the Family !
