Rating: Summary: Too cute Review: This book is so cute and is a perfect gift for someone starting a new path of their life. Don't let it fool you. Just because it is by Dr. Seuss doesn't mean it is a children's book.
Rating: Summary: Knowing and Going Review: Of Seuss-an reviews this is the third Likely my last, mostly absurd But I had to think of life's general direction And that brought me to this little reflectionThe places we go The places we know The things that we show The hearts that all glow Life is but a journey friend And friend with friend up till the end We should be happy and we should be free You should be you and I'll just be me And OH, OH, the places we'll go We'll go hither and we'll go fro Over the rainbow and under a smile Making the light year seem less than a mile My own trek is one through theology Determined it feels by biology And compels me upon my wonderful way And never doubting it for a day That this is where I'm called to be This is what I'm charged to see By some much grander holy light Which may someday give me greater sight And until then the faith I'll hold To try to make the journey bold So that everyplace will feel like home For everyplace is someone's home Be it brown or be it blue In a castle or a shoe In the up and out the down Journeying through every town And still there will be more places to go Still more ways in which we can grow But may we never outgrow the Seuss For then, dear friends, life's not much use This is a lesser-known Dr. Seuss book, but still a great story and great learning device. This is especially well suited for children who are going through a transition or change in life, to show them in a cute and memorable way that life is journey in and of itself, and that there are good things to be found when leaving the security and safety of home. An excellent text for children who may be nervous about going to school, going on a trip, or major life changes, this book is real treasure.

Rating: Summary: I love this book and I am *not* a Seuss fan! Review: If you have other Dr. Seuss books then this one is a little different. It does not go into it's own story, instead it is written more like an introduction to the world of Dr. Seuss. It's all in there - from the Grinch of Whoville to Horton the Elephant to the Cat in the Hat. A great collection of characters all summed up in one little book. Although I can stumble over pronouncing a word just like anyone else this book is very rhythmic and fun to read, it flows very well as do most other Dr. Seuss books. It is also every bit as silly and entertaining, even for me, as an adult.
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Book To Take With You To The Places You'll Go Review: Oh, The Places You'll Go, written by Doctor Seuss, is perfect for just about any age. Fundamentally this is a poem about the good and bad things which lay ahead of us as we make our journey through life. Ultimately the message the poem carries is a positive one for children. 'It won't always be easy. You'll get through it okay though.' As you turn the pages of this wonderful book you'll be nodding your head in recognition of its profound and simple truths. Rating: Summary: Strained - not classic, but alright Review: Like his posthumous 'Daisy', 'Places' lacks the zing, the excitement, the otherworldliness of his classics. The strength in 'Places' is the message, which is OK - fairly new and simple, but eventually boring - not ennobling, like 'Lorax'. The drawings are weak, comparatively empty and labored. Compare to 'Sleep Book', which is a completely engrossing new world at every turn.
Rating: Summary: For people of all ages experiencing life challenges, too Review: I have a friend facing cancer. I have a child with serious health issues. This book says it all. Reminds you, "When your alone, theres' a very good chance you'll meet things that scare you right out of your pants. There are some, down the road between nither and yon, that can scare you so much you won't want to go on. But on you will go thought the weather be foul. On you will go though the Hakken Krakks howl On you will go..." There is more, so much more. Awesome awesome book. We read it multiple times a day. My 2 yo asks for the book constantly. It helps us hold onto our courage. I just can't say enough about this wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: Perfect for any age Review: Since Dr. Seuss is one of my all-time favorite authors, of course this book is wonderful! The illustrations are awesome, and the book is great for any age. If you are as big of a Dr. Seuss fan as I am, you will definitely love it!
