Summary: Awesome classic
Review: This is an awesome book and a classic! My 18 month old twin girls have really been into touch and feel books. This is definitely one of their favorites. It has soft textures, scratchy texture, and the peek-a-boo is their favorite as well as the mirror. It also has a scent page, which is great as well. The only thing I would change is to make it more durable. I've already taped it back together, and the comb binding comes undone easily when toddlers are handling it. It is still a great book, and I would recommend it to anyone with toddlers. At least it fits in my purse or diaper bag easily because it is small and lightweight.

Summary: Truly a classic
Review: Pat The Bunny is one of my 10-month-old daughter's favorite toys. She likes to leaf through the pages, and especially likes to play peek-a-boo with Paul and to look in the mirror like Judy does. The book captures her interest for relatively long periods of time. My only concern is that the plastic binding is somewhat flimsy and my daughter keeps pulling the book apart. I can put it back together again, but I wish that Pat The Bunny came as a standard bound board book that wouldn't fall apart quite so easily. It has to endure a lot of baby love and attention!

Summary: Eh...
Review: It's a cute book, but very dated. Not very sturdy either. I cringe whenever my son reaches for it, but that's not too often, as it doesn't hold his interest very well.

Summary: Simply the Best Ever
Review: Some things become life experiences not only for one's child, but for oneself. "Pat the Bunny" is such a book. It is so dear, so simple, and so very, very perfect that it is deceptive. It really can teach a very young baby about textures and colors and the fact that the world is a varied and wonderful place.

When my first child (now almost 18) was less than 6 months old, I would take her tiny hand and place her chubby fingers on each different texture...the bunny, the cloth, and of course my favorite...Daddy's scratchy beard! (a piece of sandpaper). I don't know how much of the simple and sweet words my daughter absorbed, but she was cuddled in my arms, being rocked (our favorite place to read) and she definitely liked to touch the textures. Now the interesting thing is that the book remained special, and when she should have outgrown it, she did not. It remained in the collection. I think that's because it is just so peaceful and simple, remnants of a former time.

If you are expecting, if one of your friends has a new baby, if you are a grandparent or a loving aunt or uncle, you cannot give a better book for a new baby. It will be that baby's cherished book in short order. Guaranteed. One word of warning, though. Make sure that you are buying the original, with all the textures. I saw one oversized board book version the other day, and its only texture was the cotton of the bunny, which carried through to each page. No no!! We need everything right for this book of a lifetime.

Summary: A classic, perhaps a little dated
Review: I'm torn in reviewing this one - on the one hand, my son (9 mos) seems to love it, and quickly learned to pat the bunny, lift the cloth to play peek-a-boo, etc. So from the baby's standpoint, it's a winner. But looking at it from an adult perspective, I think the book is awfully old-fashioned (which may be part of the charm for some readers), the drawings aren't very engaging and the comb-binding is flimsy - I can't leave this book out with the board books, or he'll tear it apart. If you loved this book as a kid, by all means buy it and share it with your own kid. But in my opinion, it's not the most exciting, or even the best interactive, book out there.

Summary: There are lots of better books
Review: If I'd been able to see inside this book, I would not have bought it. I'm not influenced by nostalgia, so I can state that this is a really disappointment. Pages are ordinary card folded accordion style and bound only in the middle by flat binding leaving the ends unbound. Really easy to pull out and doesn't stand up to any mouthing. For 'simple line drawings' read simplistic line drawings in pastel colors. I can imagine that sixty years ago, this book would've been revolutionary, now its just passe. Baby boy, after two weeks is bored silly with it and refuses to finish reading it. He does however do two or three of the activities before lunging for one of his other books. By the way, the book is not about a bunny named Pat. Also the book comes gift boxed and shrinkwrapped which is why I couldn't return it.

Summary: This Bunny's a FAVORITE!!
Review: Our son inherited two identical copies of Pat the Bunny from his big sister (who adored the book equally), and he quickly learned all the fun things he could do with Paul and Judy. His favorite thing to do is to play peek-a-boo with Paul. We are disappointed that the binding has failed on both copies, but gladly, it is due to them being so LOVED. In order to keep our now-one-year-old boy happy, we are buying him a copy of his own for Christmas (and maybe a spare for the diaper bag for outings).A true favorite story-simple and fun! And a great gift to receive for a new baby.

Summary: Reviewing Pat The Bunny
Review: This is a delightful story about two children, Paul and Judy. This story tells of the many things that children can do. It allows children to experience all their senses. This is definitely a good book for early childhood.
This book tells what Paul and Judy can do and then invites the children to try it as well. It involves most of their senses from smelling flowers to putting their finger through mother's ring. Children love this book because it allows them to be active participants instead of passive listeners.
The clear, uncluttered background makes it easy for children to understand the main action going on in the page. There are different textures used from a soft bunny to daddy's scratchy beard. The softer pastel colors really let the activities shine.
The book is one of my favorites. I even went and bought one of my own and a video that goes along with it. I read it to all my family and friends all the time.
This book is meant for early childhood, but I think it could be very helpful in teaching young special education students as well.

Summary: My son's favorite
Review: My 14 month old son has never been good about sitting through a whole book - especially a new one. I wanted to spark his interest in books a little more so I bought the Pat the Bunny book and bought him the bunny, too. The first time we sat down to read this book, he sat still and let me get almost the whole way through. Then instead of getting down to do something else, he went back to a previous page to play Peek a boo with Paul. That is still his favorite page, although now he likes to smell the flowers quite a bit, too. This book kept his interest.
