Summary: Terrific book for Pre-Teens
Review: I bought this book for my 9 (soon to be 10) year old and was impressed by the head-to-toe body care topics it covered. It touches on everything from hair care, to face cleansing, to washing your hands, to exercising and nutrition. I was wondering how I was going to broach the topic of starting her period with my daughter and this sure helped relieve my anxiety. It covered it honestly, straightforward and not intimidating at all. I think it helped because it was only a minor focus of the entire body-care book. (A brief introduction to what a period is and how to handle it and the fact that it is completely NORMAL and all girls go through it). I told my daughter that she was now in the "girls club" and could talk to me anytime about any of these topics she had questions about...she carried the book around for hours and immediately started cleaning her face, brushing her hair and being more conscious of her overall body care.
I highly recommend this book for preteens and am happy I bought it.

Summary: Great for girls going through body changing and period!
Review: I love this book SOOOO MUCH! I read it a lot!
1,000 Stars! I like the part about female hygeine, periods,
ETC. Its changed my life. This book will tell you what to do
and what NOT TO DO. AG [ American Girl] has great advice.
I've read the magazine and they have answers to questions girls from around the USA sent. In The care and keeping of you they have the same thing except with body changing.
Some of the sections in the book:
. Belly Zone
. Reach!
. heads up!
. on the go

. big changes
. the girl inside
. body basics.

Note: In this book it says when you get your period
don't freak, it's natural. See the book for more things. AG Mgazine I also give 5 stars, Its fun + helpful= super fun!
Have Fun! =^..^=
ENjoy!

Summary: I recommend this book
Review: I really liked this book because it told me about a lot of things I've been wondering about. I'm the youngest in my fourth grade class and some of the other girls have been talking about periods and I didn't know what it was all about exactly. Mom and I read the whole book together and now I understand and won't be scared or confused when my time comes. I think every girl should get this book - it's great. The pictures help to understand the things written in each chapter.

Summary: Awesome! Perfect for parents, like me, too shy to discuss it
Review: I am one of those....hhmmm...scardy cats! Talk about personal stuff with my kids?!? MY mom didn't do that! :) This book was the answer to my prayers! I worked up the courage to give it to my daughter (9 yo) and briefly flip thru the pages with her. I tried to act cool...ya right! It goes from head to toe on a girl and discusses the importance of keeping every part clean and well groomed. Then I told her if she had questions to ask. I checked with her periodically over the next couple of weeks...concerns? uncomfortable? NONE of either. She is so comfortable with the subjects I'M no longer afraid to talk to her about it. She LOVES the book and reads it on a regular basis. Checks it if she has questions and we go over questions together...with or without the book. My younger daughter (7) will inherit it next. Now, if American Girls would just come out with (if there IS one please let me know!) a book on sex ed! :) I highly recommend this book for any girl about to hit puberty. Or any parent that just can't quite work up the nerve to discuss 'those things'.

Summary: SWEETNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I absolutaly LOVED this book. It taught me all sorts of things I didn't know, and helped me understand puberty. I highly reccommend it to girls ages 10-13 who want to learn more about their growing bodies.

Summary: Bra's
Review: This is EXCELLENT if you are a girl who needs a bra but doesn't know what to say. Or if you're a girl you just got her period but can't seem to bring it up. It tells all about the various styles and EVERYTHING.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Informitive and helpful
Review: This was a great book and it help me, actually, in many ways. I am a girl and I thought that I was ready for puberty even if it hit me on the head. Then I read this book and I realized I didn't know everything I could. I recommend this to any pre-teen like myself. It also helped me get my first bra. I didn't realize it, but I needed one. This book helped me to realize that. READ THIS BOOK!!!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: For very young girls only
Review: This is an okay book for 7 & 8 years olds. It has very little real information about puberty and provides only a broad overview. If you want your girl to have detailed information about the changes her body will undergo, or information about changes in boys and social dangers (std's, unintended pregnancy, etc.), this book provides no information. It is a primary, introductory book at best.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: This Book Was Wonderful
Review: Unlike other books, it adressed more than periods and breasts, but hair care, pimples, dieting, exercise, and more! It really helped me understand what was happening in such a scary time. Don't hesistate to buy it, it will help.

The Only Thing that I did not like was the tampon page.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book for girls as their bodies develope
Review: This is a great book for girls as they approach the preteen years when their bodies are changing. It is written as if they are asking the questions.

Great information. Especially good book for a girl who is shy to talk about all her " changes that are going on".
