Rating: Summary: Every Girl Should Have This Book! Review: I am 14 years old, and I still refer to this book every once and a while. I bought this book when I was around 11 out of sheer curiosity. It answered so many questions that I was too embarressed to ask my mom about. PARENTS: If you're looking for a book on puberty buy this!
Rating: Summary: Great book for a young girl Review: I bought this book and the campanion for my stepdaughter as she was a bit shy about discussing these issues. This has done miracles for her. It teaches about everything. The pictures inside are exactly like what you see on the outside and make the book that much more interesting to read.It talks about everything from diet and exercise, to brushing your teeth. It shows you the right way to shave your legs. It covers so much, I can't even begin to tell all of it. It tells you what to do in an emergency when you start your period and don't have a pad. Teaches you how to choose the right pad for you and the difference with pads and tampons. This was the best book for my 12 yo. She still reads it almost every day. Since reading this book, she trusts me more because it says a lot of the same things I say and have tried to teach her. We went through a lot of the book together and now we are completely open to talking about everything. You have to buy this for every young girl you know.
Rating: Summary: Excellent first time book for pre-teens Review: I bought this book for my 10 year old daughter after reviewing and agreeing on the tampon pictures being a little to graphic. But other than that its a wonderful book, she has read it at least 10 times and ask me tons of questions which makes me feel good that she can communicate with me and feels that she can ask questions. I would recommend this to any parent with a pre-teen.
Rating: Summary: I really like it Review: but now that I'm 12 I had to find another book and ask my mom for more stuff, because this book doesn't address sex AT ALL. It's okay for eight-year-olds, or younger if you develop earlier. It could have more info on stuff like anorexia, because I was sort of interested in that. It never said anything about boys, or lesbians, or how babies are made. Otherwise, it was good. They should make an older girls' one. I'm only 12 and at my school I've already kissed boys and my friend got drunk one time and they could have said more about this.
Rating: Summary: Great Book and Highly recommended! Review: This is just the book I've been searching for! My eight year old daughter read through it with great interest, and it was designed perfectly for a child her age. The book is appropriate for the younger girl who is just starting to deal with her changing body and is not quite ready for the books that are designed for the "more advanced puberty years".
Rating: Summary: My 9 yr old daughter won't put it down Review: This is her 'go to' book when she has questions about her body. She insisted I go to Amazon.com and buy her this book after we had 'the big talk'. Straightforward discussion on all the questions a young girl has about her body as she grows up.
