Summary: Uplifting, Touching, Heart warming, Undescribable
Review: I went into Borders one day feeling kind of down and out about everything, looking for some children's book for the daycare I work at, and I ran across this book, and I was first caught by the magnificent artwork, and the message pulled me in and twisted me up inside. Hansen shows that "The Next Place" will be a place where you're free to be no one in particular.. it meant a lot to me at the time, and it still does, I now have it displayed on the top of my bookshelf for everyone to enjoy.

Summary: Amazing
Review: I first spotted this book in a local gift shop in my town and once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. I'm 16 yrs old and I work on the pediatric unit of St. Jospeh's hospital. I've had to deal with the pain of losing some of my patients, and just the hard reality of how very ill most of them are. This book helped me feel "better" about having to let go and I'm going to ask our Child Life team if we can get it on the unit. The terminal and seriously ill children will really get comfort from this.

Summary: Uniquely accessible and emotionally rewarding reading
Review: Beautifully illustrated, Warren Hanson's The Next Place takes the young reader on an inspiring and comforting journey to a place where earthly hurts are no more, where they are invited to enjoy an uplifting sense of comfort, serenity, and joy. Highly recommended for family, school, and community library picturebook collections, the visual layout is as inspiring as the carefully crafted text making The Next Place uniquely accessible and emotionally rewarding reading highly recommended for children (and adults).

Summary: Losing Tommy
Review: A new friend gave me this book when our 9-year-old grandson died unexpectedly on July 24, 2001. The artwork and text took me to "another place" thankfully, and I could start to relax and smile at the wonderful images created by this book. After reading it several times, we gave the book to our son, his wife and older son. They too experienced the peaceful feelings projected in the text. I'm ordering another copy to be sent to a friend in Montana, another nine-year-old who is losing her battle with leukemia. I especially want her to know "In the Next Place" she will not be sick.

Summary: Breathtaking
Review: This book caught my eye with its breathtaking pictures. Most of all, its message is a true gem. As a teacher, it has allowed me to share my faith and beliefs, and to show children the real meanings of life and what is awaiting after this one. At the same time, it shows children that loved ones that are deceased are not in pain but in the next place- a place that is true, loving, and beyond words. This is a must read.

Review: I have always had these feelings about heaven and with the children with whom I work I try to emhasize how people are never away as long as we remember them. In this book with its beautiful pictures I can now read it to them and then advise their parents to please purchase this for themselves as well as for their children

Summary: A God Send
Review: The beautiful picture and the title on the cover captured my attention first, but what lies between the pages of this book has altered my life from wondering what heaven is like, to knowing. It is what every person hopes for, but can't describe. In this book, Heaven is beautifully illustrated as to what a loving god would and will provide his children who have suffered endlessly throughout this world. For all those who have lost a loved one and are imagining where and how they are- your search stops when you read this book. It can also lessen the fear of dying because it is so peaceful and reasuring to what you know in your heart is true. Read it! You will not be disapointed, unless you strictly believe that Heaven doesn't exist. Shortly after I bought this book, a young friend died and I gave this book to his family. It will always remind me of him, for finding this book was no accident. It was meant to be. This book is truly and inspiration.
