Summary: Not worth your time
Review: It is amazing how someone whose values are exactly opposite to those in this book could write this. My 7 y/o triplets whom I homeschool have found much more worthy items to spend our time reading! We always look at the authors and their backgrounds and my children have viewed authors with a strong connection to the books they write. I have taught them that you cannot always judge a book by its cover, but that you can tell what is in a person's heart by what they say and do. Maybe Madonna is searching herself what is truly valuable in life...yet she'll still do things that SELL herself, while sheltering her own children from the smut she puports!

Summary: Apples book great for bedtime
Review: Madonna might not seem like a writer, so I was sceptical that she even wrote these books at all. However, Mr Peabody's Apples is so dull, she apparently did write it. If your child has trouble sleeping, this book should do it. Another mediocre lesson in humility and kindness from a woman who seems void of those qualities herself. I'm sure fans will write glowing reviews, but what would you expect them to do? Honestly, the books are almost laughable in their "lessons." Stick to real writers. Don't believe it? Look at the number of used ones already for sale. Definitely not a keeper.

Summary: Wow!!! A great lesson teacher!!!!
Review: I was blown away by this book. I figured, Madonna?? I didn't really know what a wonderful well written lesson I would learn!!! I read this to my daughters class and they loved it!!! There is a great lesson about not jumping to conclusions, and not spreading gossip. This is a credit to the author & illustrator!!!!! The story is as beautiful as the illustrations!!!!!! Must read!!!!!!!!:)

Summary: A valuable lesson...
Review: Negative reviews of these books and that surprise me.
These are childrens books, written for children, by a mother who was getting despondant that she couldn't find any books that taught her children morals.

I think its important to forget that this book was written Madonna the superstar, and concentrate on the content. (Though, lets be honest, is there anyone more qualified to combat the books subject matter?)

This particular book deals with THE POWER OF THE WORD, and is perhaps aimed more at boys (simply because of the characters and illustrations), though all kids should be taught the aim of the book. The story has been inspired by some of the teachings of the Jewish spiritual faith 'Kabbalah'. The reality is, the message forms the basics of any sprituality., and general morals.
Yes, its simply written, but the story is well told, and its beautifully illustrated.
I would expect this to be a welcome and worthy addition to any childs book collection.

Summary: MORE TRASH FROM MADONNA
Review: Yikes,
That Madonna is back with another vapid story about nothingness. This time the only difference is the artwork which is the only thing of any real value. Unfortunately, greedy Madonna (NOSFERATU) actually copyrighted the artwork from the artist for herself. This isn't suprising since that's the way she works...let's just appropriate everything.

Summary: THE AMAZING MADONNA
Review: She has gone from self absorbed queen to beloved writer overnight. Her latest smash is true to the secret kabalistic formula. Her latest song's video, Love Profusion is just as interesting as her books. In this Video, Madonna is warning us of the future to come if we do not take steps to change the enviorment for the better. Yet in true genius fashion, Madonna serves us this fate as a love song. Brilliant, Just Brilliant.

Summary: Mr. Peabody asserts them apples....
Review: Madonna aims her second book at the young man's market, where the main charactor, Mr. Peabody is the local school teacher who also coaches baseball during the weekends.
The local boys have so much fun in the little league games that they do not notice the long losing streak they had been having.
Then one day, Tommy Tattletale spies Coach Peabody taking a shiney apple and did not observe payment of the fruit.
Gossip begins in this wee little town.
Next thing you know, the town has turned against Coach Peabody, all due to a misunderstanding.
The moral of the story is as old as apple pie:
Nobody likes a tattle-tale because tattles can bring a fine, upstanding person to ruin.
I liked the goosefeather metaphor; like so many feathers floating in the breeze, it is easier to slander a person than to restore their tainted reputation.
Boys will like this tale, and it gets to the point quickly.
Lorent Long was commisioned for his beautiful illustrations that help to tell the story....I'm glad Madonna used the baseball analogy --- it's bound to capture young hearts and teach a valuable lesson to boot.

Summary: Illustrations are fantastic!
Review: The illustrations by Loren Long in this book are what kept my attention as I read the story to my 3 year old. I realize that Madonna has received quite a bit of acclaim for retelling this story, but it the illustrator, Loren Long, who made the story come to life. I will definetly be looking for more of his children's books!

Summary: It's not a secret any more..
Review: It surprises me how few people know how truly intelligent Madonna is. They think of her whole career as superficial and a conniving way to make money. My parents think Madonna has no altruistic motivation to her career, such as improving the world around her. This book is proof that Madonna wants to help people, and I think that is beautiful, regardless of the quality of the writing. The message is still strong, and it is easy for anyone to grasp. A true writer gets the message out there in a cathartic, moving way that anyone can understand.

For those who say Madonna can't write, well maybe it is news to them that Madonna writes all her songs? And she has had a lot of powerful messages in her music over the years. Nothing is more morally edifying than a Madonna album. Pick up American Life if you don't believe me, look past the controversy, and see the philosophy. Even Erotica had a message, and the controversy it generated was part of the message.

What is amazing is that Madonna's formula has always been to sell her philosophy and poetry to people through controversy...but always controversy over things that should already be accepted. In the Erotica era, the controversy was over sex, which shouldn't have been such a big deal. Now, the controversy seems to be over a same-sex kiss. Ten years from now we will look back and laugh! Madonna pushed gay rights further than anyone else - and she was one of the first to have the guts to do it. Again, the controversy only added to her message.

But now it seems Madonna is so famous that she know longer needs the controversy to get her poetic visions to sell. Mr. Peabody's Apples is what Madonna has been trying to do all along - educate people about things that really matter, such as love and morals. Anyone who has paid attention to her music already knows the morals presented here. Remember "Words" from her Erotica album? And you thought Madonna was a bad influence... Sure she has made money, but she has helped us too.

Summary: Yes, please, yes!
Review: I know what you're thinking (I really do because I traded my soul for psychic powers), you're thinking, "hey wait, can Madonna read?" Surely if she could, she would have picked up one of her recent album reviews and glimpsed at the big words long enough to realize that she's lost whatever talent us soulless psychics thought she once had.

But this is Madonna, ladies and gentlemen, and she can read and *write*. See for yourselves, I am totally not making this up.
