Rating: Summary: please separate yourself Review: One thing I would like to point out about a few of the comments that I have read. The submitter seems to be attacking the author for works unrelated to her writing career. Please, assess the literature for what it is and not based on any recollection of her other accomplishments. After all you wouldn't press the same types of criticism on Stephen Kings latest works based on those published earlier under Richard Bachman, now would you.
Rating: Summary: A cheap cut & paste job Review: Mr. Peabody's Apples tells the story of a beloved teacher whose reputation is ruined by a rumor started when a young boy believes he sees the teacher steal an apple. When the truth comes out, the young boy feels terrible especially when he realizes how difficult it is to take back something once it's been said. Not only is Mr. Peabody's Apples a lesson in choosing one's words carefully but, as in Madonna's first children's book, a lesson in not judging other people because one may not have all the facts the person's situation. The story is easy to read with a sweetness that avoids being sappy. Madonna's no-nonsense storytelling is a delightful departure from the many patronizing stories out there that insult a child's intelligence. Madonna doesn't try to hide the lesson in the story but writes it clearly into the events of the story without sounding preachy.
Rating: Summary: I loved when she said she wanted to give Review: Hey, any chick that slips the tongue to Brittany Spears gets my vote!
Rating: Summary: Age old story retold Review: A very old story retold about the damage rumours can cause. 5 stars for the illustration! Beautiful artwork by Loren Long. I get the feeling Madonna was trying to push this book out too quickly. Her storytelling just seems to be lacking a little in this one. Don't get me wrong - it is a great story with good values to be learned. I really am happy to see that all the proceeds from Madonna's children's books go to a good cause, "the Spirituality for Kids Foundation". Something the world is lacking these days. So Keep it up Madonna!
