Summary: Kids Love Munsch Stories!
Review: As an Education major and child care employee, I have scoured book stores and book fairs to find quality literature for use in the classroom. I often utilize the preschool children that I work with as "guinea pigs" and rate thier reactions to such literature. They loved the Paper Bag Princess! Although I brought the entire Munschworks collection to school last week, I was asked (and often ordered) to read only thie particular story each day, and often several times in a day.
The children were filled with laughter at various points in the story, especially when I would flip to the page in which Elizabeth tricks the dragon into using up all of his firey dragon breath-the children would instantly yell out, "He doesn't have enough dragon breath to cook a meatball...ha ha ha".
By the middle of the week, the children were reciting this story to thier friends and parents, and even acting it out (they enjoyed calling each other bums at the end). Munsch stories are truly a delight for any classroom or individual child's library!

Summary: A Princess Reviewed
Review: Fantastic! The adventures of the feisty Princess Elizabeth will surely bring smiles and chuckles to girls and boys of all ages. I'm giving this to my princess (my niece) for her upcoming 12th birthday. I hope this will enlighten and give her insight to potential roles, choices, and self-perception as she walks into the the teen years that loom ahead!

Summary: A MUST TO READ ALOUD
Review: The first time I read this book to my children, Robert Munsch became my all time favorite author!

The story itself is so endearing...the ending so unexpected! As a child of Disney Fairy Tales.... all so predictable... Robert Munsch is so refreshing!!!

I love the spunk of all Munsch's characters and their unique probleming solving techniques!

This story is a must for childhood, as well as for parents who love to read to their children!!

Summary: My Daughter's First Book
Review: I received this book as a baby shower present. It was my daughter's first book, and I read it to her frequently for years. I love this book because its message empowers girls to seek their own destiny, to think and act for themselves and to question the roles others may impose upon them. I strongly suggest it to every young woman out there who may fall prey to "traditional" fairy tales.

Summary: Saying things like they are
Review: This is one of the most stupendous books ever written. Really. The princess is no-nonsense in a way that should teach most adults a lesson and the pictures and characters will endear themselves even to avowed book-hating children.

Summary: Great Story--Great Lesson
Review: Years ago in graduate school, I received this book as I was completing my studies in Workplace Diversity and thoroughly enjoyed it. All these years later, I have just finished reading this to my 6 year old daughter, and appreciate the lesson of the book even more. Regardless of your child's gender, this simple story about finding one's self esteem is terrific.

Summary: My Favorite Kids Book
Review: As an active babysitter, I am constantly in search of good books to read to kids. This book was a favorite of mine when I was little, and now that I've rediscovered it, I've read it almost every time I've babysat recently. The story makes so much sense, and for once, the protaganist is a strong female. The kids I read it to have asked me for it so much, I have the book memorized. This is definitely a great choice for any kid's library, and the witty story is just perfect for the 4-9 set. I highly recomend The Paper Bag Princess!

Summary: The Paper Bag Princess
Review: Why do I like the Paper Bag Princess? Well, I like it because it's funny, very well writen out, and because my reading buddies always want me to read it to them. I would recommend it to my cousin Steven because he just LOVES funny story's. I wouldn't compare it to any other book because I like it just the way it is. I liked the parts when the dragon burned down 50 forest, and when he flew around the world in 10 seconds. That was awesome! That's why I like the Paper Bag Princess.

Summary: We, at 52 and 4, loved it!
Review: I'm a mature mom with a lively 4-year-old daughter. We both love Elizabeth's smarts and gumption. I'm trying to impress upon my daughter that anyone who does not value her strengths more than her looks is not worth hanging on to. As a writer, I recently interviewed a teenaged girl who was learning to stay out of abusive relationships. I told her the story of The Paperbag Princess and she got immediately that it applied to her too, even at 16.

Summary: Bad ending
Review: We loved the idea of a princess who would save the prince, but when he didn't respect her...she left him high and dry. The story is great right up until the very end. A blunt and badly written ending. We had to re-write it ourselves in order to get satisfaction from the story line! Find another book to empower your princess!
