Rating: Summary: In the tradition of Princess Smartypants Review: This is like the TV show of Fractured fairytales, only better - more contemporary. Our princess is lucky enough to find out before she gets hitched that the prince probably WOULDN't support her "for better or worse". Would that more real-life princesses had the guts to realise this before they do the deed. It's not an anti-man polemic, just an affirmative statement that women can be gutsy and THEMSELVES and don;t need to be defined by their appearance being pleasing to the men in their life!
Rating: Summary: Book & Doll edition is not a great deal Review: This is a great story, but I wouldn't have gotten the book & doll set if I'd realized that the enclosed book is the $1.00 version, which is only 3" square. For the price, this set should include the full-sized paperback.
Rating: Summary: An awesome fairytale Review: Unlike most fairy tales, you will be in for a surprise with this book's ending. I have read this book to three year olds, ten year olds, and now I am going to have my High School Philosophy of Woman class read it in conjunction with a study on women in fairy tales! A fabulous reversal or an ordinary story line. This should be on every library's shelves!
Rating: Summary: Watch out! Review: Don't get fooled by the price... you will be getting a VERY small book for the small price.
Rating: Summary: Great girl book Review: A wonderful original fairy tale with a strong and smart heroine. Princess Elizabeth is a great example for little girls. Sometimes the prince is not worth having!
Rating: Summary: The best "Fairy Tale" ending I've ever read. Review: A reverse of the "prince rescues the princess" theme with all the right messages: brains over brawn; "girl power"; appearances are a poor measure of a person's character.
Rating: Summary: This Book Is Great Review: This book is great I read it for an english project on censorship and found myself buying a copy, because I enjoyed it so much
Rating: Summary: Perfect story on a womans right tobe herself, like it or not Review: This book is an excellent example to young womwen around the world. The message is so clear and evident, "take me how I am or hit the road". What a great thing to see in a world obsessed with appearance and stature. I hope that all parents get this book and have their children read it over and over. Whether you have a young girl or young boy, this book is perfect to teach them to accept and appreciate people for how they are.
Rating: Summary: Who says a princess can't be smart? Review: Princess Elizabeth demonstrates her smarts as she outwits a dragon and her good sense when she dumps an unappreciative fiance. It's a read-it-again book for my 5 year old daughter. The story flows nicely and is fun to read aloud. Little girls love princesses - here's a smart one!
Rating: Summary: Terrific! Every female should own a copy! Review: This expresses the idea that it is ok to be without a male; females can be very capable and independent; don't go where you are not valued and appreciated!
