Summary: LOVE IT! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!!! *GREAT* anytime story!
Review: This book is a favorite with my two daughters!! They've even suggested that we purchase a copy for friends and the classroom as a gift!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Girls love it, but so do boys, moms & dads.
Review: Messages, schmessages. I love to see a strong female character, but the reason it works is because Munsch has a wonderful sense of the ridiculous and has made this book FUN! I give this at every baby shower, not just for the babies, but for the moms. Every other book will get boring on the 69th reading, but moms love this one over and over and over. My nephews loved this one, too, so don't limit it to girls!

Summary: This book is really for Parents!!!!
Review: When i first read the book (in the bookstore) I was laughing, realizing this was written really for us, Parents - who used to read "straight" fairy tales. The twist really made the difference.
But my little girl loves the dragon "da gween dwagon"!

Summary: Every little girl should own this book.
Review: I purchase this book along with Princess Smartypants by Babette Cole for every little girl that crosses my path. I appreciate the confident, self-assured girl senerio these stories have to offer as opposed to the "waiting for my prince to rescue me" type that I grew up with. Are there more books like these out there?

Summary: For big girls too!
Review: By far this is an excellent book for children regardless of gender. Not having a child yet to share it with and not having enjoyed it as a child, I share it with every single girl I know. With high school pressures to have a boyfriend and for those twenty-somethings whose parents can't wait til the wedding, it provides a little boost of self-esteem that shows girls that you don't have to settle and it doesn't always end in marriage. It also shows that no matter how hard you may work at it, sometimes thing don't go the way you plan and you have to be strong about it. I highly recommend it for gift giving to young woman who haven't found there strength yet.

Summary: $15 doll .79 book
Review: Just an FYI if you order this "accessory" version of the Paper Bag Princess you will get the .79 edition of the book (very small paperback). I was unpleasantly surprised by this when my order arrived. The small book isn't big enough to hold a child's interest, although the doll's box sort of vamps into a stage on which to act out the story.

Summary: Self-esteem, fairy tale style
Review: This book has an insightful message that anyone can apply to the Prince Ronalds of their lives. Not only does it wittingly illistrate what it's like to fight for some thing, but also how to feel about it when faced with the critizim of others. I picked this book up one day out of curiosity and by the time I got to the end of the book, I felt inspired. I don't know a child or adult who couldn't benifit from reading this book.

Summary: The dragon's might is no match for Elizabeth's brains!
Review: This is one of our family's all-time favorite books! My brother-in-law is a children's therapist, and uses it in his work. We are just "regular people" but we read it all the time. There are many wonderful things about this book, but the best two are the strong female character (hooray for girls!!) and the "brains-over-brawn" message. We just love love love how Elizabeth outwits the dragon!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: About standing up for yourself peacefully!
Review: This is a great little book with a message inversely related to its size. So too the power of the heroine when relying upon her wits vs. the much larger dragon. Couched in the typical setting of such prince, princes, and dragon stories this tale introduces a refreshing twist wherein self advocacy is posited as a virtue available to everyone and capable of overcoming all odds. This lesson is applicable to all people regardless of age or gender!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must for every child's library!
Review: Karen writes: I love the messages in this book, the fact that the princess uses her brain to defeat the dastardly dragon non-violently, and that she stands up to the prince's snobbery and ingratitude when she rescues him.

It's refreshing and wonderful -- I give this book as a gift to every friend with a new baby!
