Rating: Summary: On par with the CCNA Study Guide by the same author Review: As good as the CCNA Study Guide - that is enough to obtain your certification with some experience and more-less good understanding of the subject. Recommended.
Rating: Summary: A very well written and worthwhile guide Review: Well, I've just nailed the CCDA with an 818, using this book as my main source. Its a good idea to have some background already, and the authors do recommend that you have CCNA before commencing CCDA studies. Know this information well, and check out the archive mails at groupstudy for exam details from those who have sat the test. Its a tough exam, but those who know this material well and READ the questions fully, will have a good chance to do well here.Myles Urquhart BCom(Hons) CCDA CCNA
Rating: Summary: GET THIS BOOK ! Review: YOU WANT TO PASS... GET THIS BOOK! SCORED OVER 860, with NO CISCO experience. I studied for 1 month from the book , then Downloaded the hardware specs for the Cisco routers and switches. Finished with 45 minutes to spare!
Rating: Summary: Why so many people compare this book with the Cisco book? Review: I knew nothing about the Cisco's CCDA book. But I do know that this Sybex book will NOT prepare you adequately for CCDA exam. I wrote the exam last week. Please do not trust those reviewers who give 5 stars to this book!
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money :( Review: The book is full of contridictions and makes learning the material very difficult. I bought the 'Designing Cisco Networks' directly from Cisco and I am finally back on the right path. There are multiple questions in the book that have different answers on the CDROM.
Rating: Summary: Zack Shaikh Review: I just took the DCN / CCDA exam today and used Tod Lammle book. only 5% was actual material was covered in the book, I felt it was completely waste of time and mony to buy Todd Lammle book. This book does not prepare you for the CCDA Exam at all.
Rating: Summary: Put it in your collection Review: This book, the CCDA book, and the Cisco beginners guide are all u need. The beginners guide was written by CCNA & CCDA certified people and really helped fill in the blanks. The CCNA & DA study guides finished the job. Why not be both a CCNA and CCDA, I am & these three books helped.
Rating: Summary: Worth the read Review: I read this book, did the 250 questions in the back of the book 3 or 4 times, went to a 2 day CCDA Cisco class and passed the test on the first try with a 794 (661 was passing). I strongly suggest this book. If you already have your MCSE and CCNA, you can probably read and study this book for 2 hours a day and pass the exam in 2 or 3 weeks time!
Rating: Summary: Does what it advertises Review: Excellent book! Has almost everything you need to prepare for the CCDA. There were perhaps 15 questions on the exam that I didn't think were touched on in the book, but if you know this material well your chances are excellent. I also used the network design book by Oppenheimer. It is also very good, but doesn't have any practice questions.
Rating: Summary: Got to be the best on the subject Review: As with the sister book, CCNA, this book gives you absolutely the right information. Unlike many exam books, it does not fall into the trap of trying to tailor itself to predicted exams (unlike every Microsoft book), or being to abstract to be understandable. I went on the Cisco DCN before reading this, and believe me I needn't have bothered. This book is all you need (plus a little experiance!)
