Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: As of this writing, this is THE definitive book on Java Servlet programming. Period.
Rating: Summary: What a great buy!!! Review: Developing Java Servlets is a must buy! This is by far the best book I have ever seen on the subject of Servlets and its relation to JDBC, JSP, etc. It is resource-rich, code intensive, technique-oriented, and much much more. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: THE servlets book (i.e., the BOMB). Review: Excellent book. I bought this book and Inside Servlets (by Dustin Callaway). These are must have books if you want to develop servlets. Although I thought that this was the better of the two books, each compliments the other. Both do an excellent job of explaining what servlets are, the Callaway book delves into developing (i.e., debugging) servlets using different IDEs (Visual Cafe, JBuilder and ServletExec). Buy them both.
Rating: Summary: I appreciate this book and expect more in next edition Review: Good effort by James Goodwill.Better if he can provide with CD to reduce the user's time .
Rating: Summary: Great Book For Learning Servlet API Review: Hi, This is great book if you want to learn Java Servlet API. If you have little bit experience in Java then this is the best book to start with Servlets. Thanks,
Rating: Summary: THIS IS A GHETTO BOOK Review: I am a relatively new Java programmer and bought this book hoping it would greatly aid me in the development of Java Servlets. Unfortunately, the book is very disappointing. Not only is the book full of mistakes, but the web site is missing code, and examples are poorly commented on. If you are looking for a good book for explaining Java Servlets, this is not it. If you are a seasoned Java programmer, it may server you better. Personally, I would just go to java.sun.com to learn servlets and save my money.

Rating: Summary: Perfect for the Java programmer who is new to servlets Review: I had never seen a servlet before this book. I was starting a new job and needed a quick jump-start. After reading just half of this book, I was able to start my new job with an understanding of what the servlet actually does. The great thing that this book does is cover all of the various technologies that you can use with servlets. This is the real power. If you have an understanding of Java and are looking for one-stop shopping to get you into servlets, this is the book that will get you there.
Rating: Summary: THIS IS A GHETTO BOOK Review: i hated this book and the version of jrun they use i cant even find on the web. also it took me forever to get what they were talking about with the Java web server witch they didnt tell you to download they just tell you to get and install JRE witch they make it seem like java web server is jre. i personaly think that this book sucks and no one should buy it!
Rating: Summary: The best Servlets & JSP's book Review: I have 5 books about Servlets and/or JSP's including the disapointed JavaServerPages and Java Servlet Programming both from o'reilly. This is the best of all, all you need to know is Java, that's all. If you need to develop a Servlet project this book puts you on the road in the first 130 pages. Then if you want to have a better understanding you can read the rest of the book. The book has 24 chapters and 7 apendix and each chapter covers a topic in a very easy and comprehensive way with out confusing references like the o'reilly books that make you feel stupid. More over this book has three complete JSP examples so well written that you can use part of the code for your own projects.
