Summary: If you're only going to read one book for your CCNA- this is
Review: This book is the best overall introduction into the world of Cisco. The TCP/IP and OSI chapters are excellent and you WILL need them on the exam. It does lack in the areas of Frame Relay, ISDN, and LAN switching. It has plenty of screen shots and does a good job of explaining RIP and IGRP. If you are new to Cisco and are going to take the CCNA exam do not rely on Todd Lammle's CCNA Study Guide alone. You will be doing yourself a disservice! It is comparable to reading an Exam Cram book. Why would anyone planning on working on Cisco routers read an Exam Cram as an intro to Cisco? CCNA is an entry level certification, so read yourself a real intro book and good luck.

Summary: Corrections to ICRC
Review: This book is the gateway to a career working with Cisco networks. A must for the beginner, and intermediate alike. This book along with Todd Lammle's CCNA study guide will catapult the network enthusiast into CCNA status. A great reference for the bookshelf thereafter.

Summary: Good Book
Review: This book starts at the beginning of what a new networking engineer needs to know and works through several examples of how this works in the real world today. It covers TCP/IP, AppleTalk, IPX, X25, Frame Relay, and more, if you count the appendicies. Unsurprisingly, it's also the best study guide for the CCNA. The writing is vague in places, but on the whole a review of the state of technology this clear is remarkable.

Summary: A very readable introduction to Cisco Internetworking
Review: This is a good book. I thought that some of the diagrams weren't totally clear or contained errors (e.g. the SNAP frame on Page 51), but by following the text I gained a clear understanding of how everything fits together. Laura Chappell has done a great job in communicating the concepts, and I found I was referring to other more specialised books to get further information on the topics presented. I would recommend this book.

Summary: Excellent introduction to Cisco Router Configuration
Review: This text covers the basics of the three most commonly routed protocols of IP, IPX, and AppleTalk in a Cisco environment. This is an excellent resource to study for the CCNA. I recommend it for anyone taking the CCNA or internetworking engineers whom are unfamiliar with Cisco IOS

Summary: DO NOT USE THIS TO STUDY FOR THE CCNA!
Review: This was a horrible book considering its main purpose, as implied by the title, is to prepare you for the CCNA...I used 3 sources to study for my CCNA, 2 if you exclude this one...which you should. Use Lammle's book from SYBEX..MUCH better, no matter what level of experience...along w/ possibly the Exam Cram.
