Summary: Yummy, simple receipes
Review: Don't overlook this book just because of the dopey, disproven food combination garbage. This book is a gem, filled with wonderful, easy to prepare dishs, with lots of great ideas. For example, bet you didn't know that simply taking pieces of frozen cantalope and throwing them in a blender produces the most amazingly tasty shake. Yum. If the book didn't waste so much time with idiotic food theories, I would give it 5 stars.

Summary: The perfect cookbook!
Review: Every recipe I have tried has turned out wonderfully. I love the Almond Milkshakes, New Age Fries, Easy Baked Beans, and "Goodwiches"...can't wait to try some of the tofu "Stedda" recipes. I'm confident that everything this book offers is simply delicious and brings about the best of feelings. One would do well to invest in a copy.

Summary: Positively Outstanding!!!
Review: I am a firm believer in the principles of Natural Hygiene.Unfortunately, I am a diabetic, and I have read very little in theirpublications regarding Natural Hygiene's application for diabetes. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has info. I have tried almost every recipe in the book, and I have a husband and a toddler to please. They've never turned anything away that I have made for them out of it. It works every time! I strongly suggest this for mom's who are worried about the junk their kids eat!

Summary: Healthy and Tasty
Review: I am not a "health nut" but am interested in maintaining and improving my health. These recipes have stood the test of time as I purchased this book when it first came out.

I have made so many of these recipes and have found most of them to be wonderful. If you like occasional meat, which I do, I add grilled fish, or sauteed chicken. It is not the end of the world and doesn't blow the diet. Just combine the food properly and you are still eating healthy.

Very enjoyable food and well worth a try.

Summary: American Vegetarian is my cooking bible
Review: I have been a vegetarian for over ten years. When I first started the transition I bought a copy of this book. Since I have made tons of the recipes from the American Vegetarian and they are awesome. Diamond gives great information on why she uses certain ingrediants over others. This book taught me about real nutrition and about real alternatives to a meat and animal product rich diet. The cookbook is actually vegan. But for those of you who are a bit skeptical once you try recipes like the basic creme soup without any real creme you will be hooked. Honestly this is my favorite cookbook, The Vegetarian Times and all of Debrah Madison's Cookbooks are good but just not the same. This is a must have for every vegetarian kitchen!

Summary: For the hard-core vegetarian.
Review: I have recently decided to become a vegetarian and this is the first vegetarian book that I have bought. It is filled with meatless, dairy-free recipes, and is great for someone who is familiar with spices and veggies that are not widely used. I found it intimidating and will probably not use this one very much. This is a book for true health nuts.

Summary: The simplest Way to be Healthy and Understand Why
Review: I started out by reading Marilu Henner's first two books which were excellent. The "Total Health Makeover", but she referred to Marilyn Diamond in her book and the "Fit For Life" idea. Choosing to do further research I decided to read "Fit For Life" and have never gone back to the old ways of eating.

This cookbook gives you more than just reicipes. This book gives us who want to be healthy (and who aren't the greates gourmets) easy and simple menus that are easy to understand, but better yet she explains why she does the things she does, and the principles behind the things she does. It makes it a lot easier for people to stick to a plan when they understand what is going on in their body, and what they can do to prevent some of the everyday aches and pains that are caused by improper food consumption. By no means am I a cook, or a fanatic! But this cookbook makes my life easier and makes it easier to comply with the way I should be feeding my body. Thank you to Marilyn Diamond and harvey Diamond as well as Marilu Henner. I have never said this before, and probably never will again - THIS COOKBOOK COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE and MAKE IT 100% BETTER! I promise.

Summary: This book saved my life!
Review: I was struggling with metastatic calcification of the lungs. The medical doctors told me there was nothing they could do. I followed Marilyn's advice in The American Vegetarian Cookbook and today I am running marathons! I also lost over 30 pounds effortlessly. Today I pushed over 900 pounds with my leg muscles at the gym. Thank you Marilyn Diamond.
