Review: ...so much that I am buying it again, after misplacing my original torn and tattered copy. Dom Deluise has always made me laugh and cry (from laughing so darn hard). His cooking techniques are no less admirable. Love this man, love this food. Eat this, it'll make you feel better! Yes! It does. Next Don needs to come out with an exercise book to keep us from gaining too much weight as a result of his yummy dishes. ;->

This endearing cookbook is written with love, tears and more love and the recipes included read (and taste) like old world home cooking. Mama's Spinach Rolls, Veal Piccata and plenty of sauces are among the very easy recipes that seasoned and new cooks will enjoy. Dom DeLuise shares recipes from friends, families and his own kitchen and like all good cooks, has a story for each and every one. A joy to read.

Review: A warm and friendly cook-book isn't something you find every day. Dom Deluise gives us idiot proof instructions for many wonderful dishes.Most, but not all of them, are italian.All of the recipes I've tried were favourites around my house. I say "were" because the book mysteriosly went missing about a year ago. I'd better order a new one....eh!

Review: Anyone who wants to learn the basic, unpretentious cooking of the Southern Italians must have this book. I do not know where Dom's people came from over there, but it must have been in and around Naples; his recipes are so like those of my own family--and better! This is all, of course intersperced with comments in Dom's on inimitable style that serve to make this a great book to read even without the recipes . . . Buy it and enjoy it without regrets.

Review: Every time I try a new recipe, I am simply delighted with the outcome. My wife is equally impressed with the quality of the final product. I have eaten hundreds of different meatballs and I can honestly state that these are the very very best that I've ever had. This is especially significant since I grew up with four Italian grandparents each with a favorite recipe. The fish dishes are always wonderful. I can not say enough about this book. It is simply my favorite cook book. You can not go wrong!!!

Review: I don't know what I enjoy more about the book, the wonderful home style recipes, or the hilarious storytelling of Dom's. Either way you will love this book. However, if you grew up in Brooklyn eating this food, like Dom did and as I did, then you'll love it even more.
