Rating: Summary: Great Italian-American Food Review: I have a lot of cookbooks, including a LOT of Italian ones. I wanted to make meatballs one day and none of these books had a recipe so I bought Dom's book. This book has Italian-AMERICAN basics like meatballs (the best I've ever had) and sausage & peppers. Try the Pot-le-Gel & the chicken w/peppers.

Rating: Summary: Superb! More authentic than any other Italian mother...... Review: I was raised in the Italian restaurant business--par excellence! REAL ITALIANOS! This book surpasses anything I ever saw/learned during those many years. I have strongly recommended it to ALL my friends and anyone else who would listen. I've given it as gifts on several occasions and nothing but loud lauds for Dom. INCOMPARABLE by anyone's standards---foreign born or "retreads"! :-)
Rating: Summary: Read this...it'll make you feel better Review: My mom bought this book when it first came out in the late 80s. This was probably the first cookbook I ever looked at. I loved the stories and started trying out the recipes when I was about 11 or 12. Throughout the years the book has lost a few pages, gained quite a few smudges, and has literally broken in half, but it's still my favorite cookbook. In fact, I like to think it is this book that ultimately inspired me to go to Italy to attend culinary school. I'm now moving into my very first apartment and am ordering another copy of it (don't want to take my mom's) so that I can have it with me...even though I've pretty much memorized it. I know I'll be using this book my whole life.
Rating: Summary: Eat This...It'll Make You Feel Better Review: Outstanding! Recipes range from very simple to complex but each one is a gem. Along with the delicious recipes, Deluise throws in charming anecdotes that make you want to go over to his house for dinner.
Rating: Summary: College roommates find the only cookbook they'll ever need! Review: Since my Italian grandmother knows how much I love her cooking, she gave this cookbook to me as a gift. The recipes are very simple, using everyday ingredients. My roommate and I have replaced Mac and Cheese with Dom's Pasta i Fagioli. This book is great for college kids who miss mom's Italian cooking, but don't want to spend hours over the stove.
