Summary: You Go, Girl!
Review: A peppy, sassy, breezy read as tasty as a box of chocolates (not that rail-thin Janice would go near that). Brutally honest about her family, friends, and lovers. After a miserable childhood (I loved the scene in the hospital with her dying father), she sets out to disprove his assertion that she'd never amount to anything. Those who like Hollywood gossip will be impressed by her achieving a trifecta ...: Warren Beatty, Mick Jagger, and Jack Nicholson all bedded her. But no one got the best of Janice.

Summary: Yeah!
Review: Drugs, sex, love scandals... all the things that make life interesting. Someone else's life, that is. What's remarkable is how Dickinson came through it all. No doubt, a cathartic experience for her to write this book. And a peek into a type of life the rest of us never get to experience.
Also recommended - "No One's Even Bleeding" & "Delano"

Summary: entertaining
Review: no, Dickinson will not win a Pulitzer, but that is not the point. this book is a peek into the surreal world of fame and fortune. Dickinson wrote this book for release and i think she did a hell of a job. i don't think she wants anyone to feel sorry for her, she simply demonstates, too well, that no one is above human vice, loneliness, and change. i started this book with a closed mind, and yes her egoism in her early days can be a bit redundant, but guess what? she was young, gorgeous, filthy rich and totally clueless. at least she is honest about her shortcomings. in a world that chews people up, she has not only survived... she has shared her lessons with the rest. solid.

Summary: Don't miss this one!
Review: What I really enjoyed about this tell-all, tall tale is that in the end..."she" made it!!! I like that. Certainly, everybody makes mistakes, but with temptation like sex, drugs, rock-n-roll and hollywood. ...wooo, wooo. ...Loved it. Enjoy.

Summary: No Lifeguard on Duty and this book still managed to survive?
Review: Janice Dickinson.. I never heard of her before she wrote this sad excuse of a book. She just rants and rants on about her problems and it doesn't seem to amaze her that modeling was the ONLY choice for her. I think that througout the book she was pathetic and had none of my sympathy. Does she really want us to believe that she is one to be considered lucky to be alive? I should be lucky that I am still interested in reading after this piece of work. Don't like my review.. Take a Number.. ( quote from the "author" herslef).

Summary: brutally, hilariously honest
Review: What a great book- I couldn't put it down until I finished and have already recommended it to several friends. In response to someone else's compaint that it was too crass, well yeah, if you're a bit of a prude, maybe this book is not for you. Personally, her talk and sense of humor (and she really does have a great one) was on par with mine and I'm sure it will be with most generation xers. I loved her writing style, as well- she writes as if in speaking directly to you- it's very comfortable, if that makes any sense. If you understand and relate to this woman when she says she was both "madly self-confident and crushingly insecure," you MUST read this book, because she does a lot of soul searching throughout her life and this book about just this. I know it gave ME a lot of insights into myself and I'm sure it will do the same for you. Don't know what else to say, it was just such a refreshing, unique, HILARIOUS and honest book.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST!
Review: I must say I really enjoyed this book. I was a bit skeptical at first but Janice Dickinson has not only led a fasinating life but she is funny, witty, charming, sarcastic and ironic. This book is a small window into her life, where you will laugh out loud and cry out loud(even though you are by your self). She names some names but not all. I When I got to the end I was so sad, not because of a sad ending (but that's where the story ends) but because I wanted to know more about Janice Dickinson. Someone needs to make a movie out of this book. Not only is Janice Dickinson hilarous, caring, balls-out, live-fast, bomb-diggity, but she is above all a great mom.

Summary: One of the best characters I have read!
Review: Janice Dickinson is as interesting as many fictional characters I have read. She's at times completely sympathetic, and other times decidedly not. She is also both complex and shallow. I read a lot, probably 2-3 books a week of all types (fiction, non fiction, etc) and this was one of the few of the hundreds of books I have read that I didn't want to end.

It's raunchy, yes, but this woman has lived a raunchy life. Not only is her life itself interesting, she was there for some amazing changes in the world... first discovering what AIDS was, the whole Studio 54 era, the 80's... It's a great read from a sociological standpoint too. I highly recommend this book!

Summary: the accidental life of the world's first supermodel
Review: The book should be titled "The Accidental Worst Book Ever Writen." How pathetic and depressing to read about an over-the-hill model! Don't waste your time or money!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Next title should be "No Excuses"!
Review: Good for you Janice! Good for you!
I pondered the text from this book often. Her soulful sentences would pop up in my mind while shopping, driving, cleaning, etc. Such heartfelt, painfully honest, and unashamed expression of a real person. I love honesty that offers no ridiculous excuses when explaining experiences that are normally not discussed!
We all have addictions. I imagine many people reading this book, sitting back smugly thinking, "God, I'm so glad I am not THAT screwed up." In fact, most of us have such a personality inside. Janice chooses to be brave and describe all of her fallacies & insecurities with no excuses. I could never be so courageous.
Janice is such a loving mother. It's hard to believe that someone who comes from such abuse & neglect can be a fabulous mother! As a 33 year old newly married woman, she has helped me believe that I will be a great Mom, and that I will not continue the abuse with how I was raised (a long time fear of mine).
Good for you, Janice! Thank God for you. Lisa
