Rating: Summary: The best Review: A great biography
Rating: Summary: ...gives you a great desire to know Jesus even more!!! Review: After reading "No Compromise" my walk with Jesus will never be the same. I want to have the heart that Keith had and take the stand against compromise in the Body of Christ like he did. This is what the church needs today is this message. Keith had a today message in the 70's & 80's. It is amazing how God can work though us if we will let him...and Keith let him. Every Christian ought to read this book!!! You will never be the same!!!
Rating: Summary: The zeal every christian should strive for Review: An amazing testimony! You could not help but be challenged by this book. An inspiring life and his music is pretty funky to!
Rating: Summary: A TRUE man of FAITH!!!! Review: Excellent biography about the life of christian musician Keith Green. I hope to someday have the type of faith he had: strong and committed. If you enjoy the book, you will definitely enjoy his music. So once you read the book, buy some of his cds and listen to some powerful songs of faith.
Rating: Summary: Real Christianity! Review: For "fans" this is required reading. But if your a fan you know that Keith doesn't have fans, He has followers. I don't mean blasphamy, but his life and message are VERY strong. His life has changed many lives; like he has changed mine. Clothe the naked, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, care for the sick... These are the good works of a christian, Keiths life will show you how to do this in modern society. If we all served without reservation the way he did, maybe we wouldn't miss him as much. Read this book. Then listen to his music! To be fan of Keith is to be follower of Christ
Rating: Summary: This book will change my life... Review: I am among the lost sheep. I read the book at least 3 times at that time when I was seeking God very much, but since I started another way. However, I could never forget the words I read in Melody"s book. I truly believe that God is "working" in me and in anyone who once turned to Him. And this book helped me to turn to Him once and for all...I feel I must ask everyone not to give up the seeking for Jesus.
Rating: Summary: A Burning Desire Review: I didn't know what to expect when I started reading Keith Green's biography, NO COMPROMISE. Looking back over time, I'd realize God had given me a rare moment to actually meet Keith face-to-face. Out of the thousands he ministered to in his short life, I doubt if he would ever remember me. I met him at one of his concerts. I was a die hard 2nd Chapter of Acts fan. I didn't fall in love with Keith's music over night. I'd prefer the gentle wooing of Acts' music. Keith was "all or nothing!" A little too overwhelming for my young Christian mind at the time. Two things I will never forget about meeting him: his eyes and his refusal to sign autographs. I had never seen anyone's eyes so full of the fire of the Holy Spirit. I remember staring into them and thinking, "This is what it means to be totally committed to Christ." Many wanted his autograph, but he politely refused. Simply stating, "No...I want the Lord to get all the glory!"Until I read NO COMPROMISE, I had no idea the journey Keith had taken from the day he was born until the time we briefly met. I was riveted by the book. I found myself re-reading it over a period of three times! Each time, I captured more and more of God's power in a person who had totally given their life to Christ. Reading about his life gave me a deeper appreciation for his music. Now, I listen with a deeper appreciation, a little sadness (because I miss him)and a maturity I didn't have when I first met him. I miss his fire, his faithfulness, his challenge to the church as a whole. This book is definitely for someone who wants to know, is there anyone totally sold out to Jesus? I can honestly say, "Yes..there was. I met him His name was Keith Green."
Rating: Summary: No compromise in a world of desperate compromise Review: I first heard of Keith Green through a pastor friend of mine. He introduced me to Keith's music and after much convincing I began to listen. Keith's music was very 70's and nothing that I was used to, being from an 80's generation. Thankfully, I listened deeper, to the message behind the music. I think Keith could vocalize in words what many Christians feel in their hearts. We have a desperate desire to love God despite the outcome, without compromise to the world and its standards. Keith's struggles and battles are portrayed well in this book. After reading it, I felt as though I knew a brother in Christ intimently. Keith's heart comes out vividly in this book and I think this book will appeal to so many people because, in all actuality, we Christians have the same heart as Keith did. We all have the heart of Christ. If you aren't a Christian, please read this book. You will be bombarded with what true life is and how one man experienced that freedom through the sacrifice of Christ. May God bless the reader.
Rating: Summary: WOW, this is a true story of faith Review: I got this 300+ page book and could not put it down. It is a must for all Kieth Green fans. What a man of faith and love. It also shows the amazing beginings of the Christian Contemp. movement. Get and read this book!
Rating: Summary: What a child is meant to be Review: I had never even heard of Keith Green when I first bought this book back in 1992, just thought the face on the cover was interesting and the book pretty cheap. At first I read the book at a slow speed and almost put it away when I got to around page 100. But reading a bit further the book started getting interesting, and when I got to where Keith became a Christian the book really caught me and I started having troubles putting it away. I think I've bought 7 or 8 copies by now (given most of them away, but read the book about 5 times), and even tried translating parts of it into Norwegian. Keith just wanted to live for Christ, and this book has challenged me a lot and led to a few changes in my life. His music is fair enough (the book made me buy a few tapes as well), but music was only Keiths tool. He wanted to touch lives, and this book reveals his heart. If you read it, be prepared to be changed - only the Bible has ever made a similar impact on me.
