Rating: Summary: I could not put this book down Review: I have always been a fan of Keith's music. This biography gave me appreciation for the depth of his life's message. The search for God his hunger to share his faith is his ministry. His zeal reminds me of what Paul must have been like. This book has given me new perspective on the goal of a life of faith in Christ. Keith had a musical gift that few have ever had and was willing to lay down that gift. He was "Bananas for the Lord".
Rating: Summary: Yes, This Is What A True Christian Looks Like! Review: I probably would have fallen away if not for hearing the Life Story of Keith Green on the radio back in 1989. I was so impressed with Keith's passion for wanting to be more than just a nominal Christian -- but to be a TRUE Christian that constantly sought what the Lord would have him do.Up until the day I heard No Compromise being read on the radio, I was almost convinced that churches and Christians were phony. I had been raised in the church, saved and baptized, but as a teenager, I saw a lot of bad things in the church. I had started to give up on Christianity and quit going to church. Within a week, I bought No Compromise for myself and read it two or three times within two weeks, and I have since read it several more times. I even read it into a tape recorder and sent tapes to one of my friends. I have also sent a couple copies of this book to other friends. From this book, I found out that if Keith could be a true Christian then I could be one too (no matter what the obstacle or what other Christians may say or do to try and cool me down). I still use Keith's music and words as motivation in my walk with the Lord. A couple of my favorite parts in this book are: 1) When Keith sets aside his music for the Lord and decides not to write or perform any more music until the Lord tells him; and 2) When, after Keith had been a Christian for a couple years, he gathers a group of people to tell them, "I just got saved!" (Read it to find out why or how). I believe this book, Keith's life story, will inspire any Christian trying to walk in holiness and intimacy with the Lord.
Rating: Summary: It Changed my Life Review: I read this book for the 1st time right after I became a new Christian almost 20 years ago. It changed my life. The title that Melody used for this book perfectly described Keith Green's heart. He made many mistakes and was often over zealous in his faith, but what inspired me the most was his complete trust in God at all costs. He gave up the opportunity to be rich and famous according to the world's standards, and in turn became rich and famous according to God's standards. I recently read this book again and cried so hard I couldn't breathe. Not so much for Keith & his family, but for myself, that I wish that I had even a fraction of the faith and zeal that Keith had.
Rating: Summary: A Man On Fire! Review: I read this book THREE TIMES! What an incredible biography on the life of a young man who knew the true meaning of loving Christ unconditional. I have given the book to non-Christians and implore them to read it. It not only touch my life. But I believe it's a great book to give to those who might be seekers. Keith was a seeker. But once he found the truth, he was definitely no compromiser!! If only all of us could say the same!
Rating: Summary: A disappointment Review: I was very disappointed in reading this book. It was not very well written, and yet this is an expanded and revised edition. Keith Green comes across as a rather humorless man but that can't be the case.
Rating: Summary: This is what a real Christian looks like! Review: I've been re-reading No Compromise and remembering (painfully) when my relationship with the Lord was intense and tender, as a young preteen girl. Much like Keith, I couldn't care less about "what others might think". As with him, people said that I had an unusual closeness with and love for the Lord. I remember what it was like to hear God's heart as Keith did. Lately this book has rekindled a desire to have that newness in my life again. It's interesting that Keith went to be with the Lord after 7 years as a Christian. God's timing for taking Keith home was PERFECT. "Seven" is the biblical number of completion. When Keith completed what God sent him out to do, God took him home to receive his eternal reward. What if Keith had lived another forty or fifty years? The impact of his life and testimony likely would have fizzled out with time. "No Compromise" came out seven years after Keith's death. Again, God's timing was perfect for us to read about the life of Keith. Read and be transformed.

Rating: Summary: Absolutely amazing! Review: I've now read this book 3 times and continue to pick it up whenever I need reminding of what a life for Christ requires. Keith Green's ministry and whole attitude towards the work of Jesus Christ is one of a totally sold-out believer!
Rating: Summary: This book will be the turning point in my life... Review: If you are you looking for answers to life's questions or if you are a Christian dissatisfied with complacent, commercialized, and fake Christianity, this biography of Keith Green's life is for you. Being a student, I'm not usually interested in reading any more books than I have to for class, but I couldn't put this book down. After reading a few pages, I went out and bought 2 of Keith's CD's. I'm 19 and the style of his music is not exactly what my generation listens to, but his music and this book are full of transparent passion that's so addicting! I want all my friends to read this book, so I'm passing it around. But at the same time, I want to hold on to it so I can be inspired again and again. This book consists of journal entries written by Keith and song lyrics mixed with his crazy humor. It reveals Keith's searching for something more in life and his finding--Jesus Christ. Never have I read about such an average guy who was transformed into someone with such a burning desire to serve the Lord and a nakedness before God! This book has challenged me to re-evaluate what is eternally important in my life. Keith is dead, but his testimony lives on and I want to continue his dream of reaching the lost with hope of a Savior. Thank you Melody, for sharing the life of your husband with those who weren't alive at the time of Keith's ministry. His testimony has changed my life.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: It is really quite amazing the way God used Keith Green for his 7 years as a Christian. It's an amazing the impact his ministry made in such a short time before the Lord took him home at the ripe old age of 28. This is a pretty powerful biography. I was a little worried though over John Dawson coming into Keith's life. He seemed to be feeding Keith some bad doctrine, even if very subtly, and seemed to be a flatterer, trying to tell Keith how big he was going to be. His prophecies were proven false though when Keith suddenly died in a plane crash. It's amazing how Keith, Melody, or Keith's mentors never seemed to see this. Overall though, this book is a powerful testimony of what God will do with a willing vessel. How God can raise a man out of obscurity to be a prophetic voice that, though he be dead still speaks.
