Rating: Summary: This is Junk Review: Sean Hannity needs to shave about an inch of his hair back from his hairline so he won't look like a monkey.Seriously, though, this is a book full of repetitious blatherings about nothing. It is full of inaccurate "statistics" and conclusions about the world that lack any kind of insight. There's nothing new here. Just lots of misinformation. I'm no liberal. But, I am a writer. I know poor writing when I see it. And judging from his "show", anyone should be able to tell when someone is trying too hard to be smart. Hannity is just another low IQ guy that somebody thought looked like he could be a "spokesman" for their ideas. Don't waste 15 or 20 bucks on this moron. I'd rather have gone to a nice restaurant with my wife. Unfortunately, I can't get my money back and the stupid book will have to be used to line the birdcage--one lousy, boring page at a time.
Rating: Summary: More Nonsensical Right Wing Propoganda Review: Come out the herd & be heard my fellow Americans. Can you appreciate the distinction? Am I a "commie" because I believe in the power of compassion over conflict and cooperation over competition? If so, Jesus was a "commie" too! The God so many of you right wing fanatics supposedly believe in. How can you belive in him if you don't believe in justice, fairness & common decency too? Wake up America its time to humble ourselves and right the wrongs we have committed in our addiction to infinite greed and selfishness. Children should not die so your fat asses can ride around in SUVs.
Rating: Summary: Hannity is right Review: contrary to the rants of a reviewer the split is more like this. In one corner, conservatives believers in achievement, freedom, family, and America in the other corner we have liberals, believers in stealing wealth from the producer, victomization, perversion and blame america first. The left lies and the right tells it straight. I prefer to be on the RIGHT side the good guys. We are winning and people like Sean are shouting it to the world. This book is a " Crie du Coeur" Pardon my use of French. You do not have to accept everything Sean says to appreciate the passion and cogency of his book. His distractors cry "liar" of course with not a shred of evidence. Well they can sit and whine as history passes them by because reality is rearing its head. the conservatives are winning and will continue to do so.
Rating: Summary: I think that I should read this book. Review: My 5 star rating is hypothetical - since I haven't read it yet. However, based on the wild, vicious attacks by the left wingers in their "reviews" of this book (which from reading their "reviews" I doubt if they have read it either) - all of which appear to be in the vein of the typical character assassination attack that is so prevelant in the political rhetoric of this group of people, make me want to read it. Just a hint to you guys, if you don't agree with someone, discuss the issues - vicious, unsupported attacks make the "reviewers" look like idiots. You need a new tactic.
Rating: Summary: Great if you enjoy lies Review: Hannity is a moron in the vein of Limbaugh, quite a legacy to follow. This book is great if you enjoy reading about a hypocrite who criticized kosovo but then denigrated anyone who criticized Iraq as anti-american. Another product of Republican party organ Fox News Channel, Hannity is one of the great liars on television today. Lie Sean Lie!
Rating: Summary: A Mishmash of Modern Conservatism Review: First, I wish to state my own politcal bent. I consider myself a liberal, but I also hope that I am open to all conclusions based on reliable facts. It is hard to get away from one's own bias. Hence, take what I say with a grain of salt. Hannity writes from a feeling of emotion, defending those values that he was probably raised with and feeling a need to impose them upon others. His enemies are the cursed liberals, who, though not intentionally, undermine the strength of Amerca and everything that makes our nation great. The way to reverse this trend, according to Hannity, is to strengthen the military, return to the Judeo-Christian morality that this country was founded on, and reaffirm our old-fashioned patriotism. The Ten Commandments must be displayed in public places as well. Should we in fact follow Hannity's advice, we would be living in the most oppressive state America has been since at least the 1950's. There are scores of contradictions in the book. Many "facts" are dubious. The "freedom fighters" of Nicaragua-the Contras-were in fact one of the most brutal paramilitary forces America has ever supported (and that has a lot of competition). The Sandinista gov't they were fighting against was probably the best one of Central America, with the possible exception of Costa Rica. Yes, the Sandinistas had ties to the Soviet Union and Cuba, but even there our perception is distorted by Cold War realpolitik. One particular part of Hannity's book is standing out in my mind as I read this: The part in which he asks how a fuel-burning SUV can possibly be more dangerous that a flag-burning SOB. I am still struggling with the line of logic that leads to this conclusion. Just for my own gratification...does anyone here know the comparison between the amount of exaust SUVs dump into the atmosphere compared to that of flags? Flag-burning serves two purposes: Fueling reactionaries such as Mr. Hannity and exercising one's freedom of speech, to which, it seems, Hannity is deeply opposed. Hannity's book is important to read because it gives a fairly good picture of the modern conservative's viewpoints. Obviously, political opnions don't appear from nowhere; they usually have legitimate points that should be discussed and considered. I am willing to consider Hannity's views (I've read his book), and I would never censor anything he has to say, or prevent him from exercising his beliefs. I only wish that he would do the same for me.
Rating: Summary: Get Hannitized with this well thought out book Review: Don't pay attention to the haters bashing this book. If they have to insult Hannity and conservatives to try and convnice you not to buy this book, then they are simply appealing to the close-minded. Surely that isn't you? Hannity has earned his success by being an intelligent, honest, likable defender of conservative ideals...and this book is what you would expect if you're a fan of Sean's. He is a fiercly proud conservative, and points out what is wrong with the ideals and philosophies of the left...without resorting to viciousness and character attacks. Conservatives will enjoy this book, and take from it a lot to debate their liberal friends with. I would recommend this book to liberals who genuinely want to hear a conservative viewpoint that doesn't berate or insult you for thinking differently. Hannity & Colmes is an excellent, balanced, conservative/liberal debate show. As a conservative, I plan on reading Alan Colmes's book...and if you're a liberal, read Sean's.
Rating: Summary: The country needs to get "Hannatized!" Review: One of the reviews on this site states that Sean Hannity is an "eastcoast version of Rush Limbaugh." This pin-headed statement shows that the intelligencia, the literatti, et. al. don't get it when it comes to conservation commentators. Rush may have been a pioneer in terms of paving the way for conservative commentary to challenge the left's long-held hegemony on the airwaves, but Hannity has earned a place at the table with his excellent work, independent of anyone's coat- tails. Sean writes with a passion for patriotism that I find refreshing. His compelling writing style challenges the reader to keep in the forefront of his/her thinking just what has made, and kept America great. Mr. Hannity's work thorough, passionate w/out demagoguery. He has a clear-eyed view of the political system. After reading his book, I have a better appreciation of his work on Fox News. If all you know of Sean Hannity is from this program, his book will be a real delight.
Rating: Summary: avoidable Review: waste of time unless you want to hear him parrot out his agenda
Rating: Summary: Liked it Review: Let Freedom Ring: Winning the War of Libert over Liberalism is exactly like it's title. Sean Hannity is conservative and he bashes liberals in the book. He gives his opinion on why he thinks were doing a good job on the fight against terror. He tells you what he thinks we need to to do all that. I do listen to Sean Hannity and sometimes catch his debate show on Fox news. I do think he is a lot like Rush Limbaugh, but he is different. He isn't as bold or as loud as Rush. I think he is more positive than Rush, and he's definelty a lot more positive than Michael Moore and Al Franken. He's a fresh breath of air to Talk Radio and it's a great book. If your conservative you should love it. If your liberal don't even bother picking the book up. Look at the title. He is obviously going to tell you stuff you don't want to hear so listen to me and save yourself some time and posibly money. I liked and would reccomend it to all conservatives.
